I did not know what to expect from this visit based on these negative reviews. I honestly had a really great experience for my first time getting an MRI. I went right in on time for my appointment (I also got a 6:45 AM appointment.) the staff was very nice to me! When I went in they give you ear plugs, and they offer you something you can put over your eyes. All in all, I would recommend this place. I know there are many negative reviews below, but I did not experience anything bad. read more

I've came here a couple of times and the staff here is nice. I found out the name of the person who helped me, she is so sweet her name is Ritzy! It's been hard to get my orders for these MRI's. I was in a 3 car accident last year and the drs didn't do anything when I wanted a scan. I also took a seperate massage therapy course where I was used as the person for the students to do their test on and added to the pain I was feeling already! It's been really bad the massage therapy class I took really aggravated everything bad. The last time I came the lady who helped me was so sweet she was a smaller Filipina lady. It was hard for me to walk the first time and she was so careful with me and when I was finished with my MRI she came with a wheelchair to wheel me out even when I told her I was okay to walk. This time I had her again and I came early to my appointment, I was there about 6:40 am the lady in the front said my appointment was at 7:30. I was told over the phone to be there at 7 am for 7:15 scan and would be out by 8:30 etc I had to do the cervical spine & thoracic spine. FINALLY it was like pulling teeth to get this to be done! (Not by them) The last time I had my MRI it was in mychart by the end of the day. It's now 6:20pm and it's still not in my chart. Usually I can go in and see what was transcribed into my chart. I was actually called I think at 7:15 or maybe a little earlier. The same Filipina took me back, she's so nice, she wrapped a blanket around me to go outside. I had to go outside to the moble MRI that's in the back. That one is much smaller than the one inside. If you're afraid of tight spaces that one will definitely give you anxiety being in there. I think halfway through I started to freak out because it's SOOO loud and such a tight space. They give you tiny ear plugs but it's still so LOUD! I saw they had the headphones too, maybe give those to people too since it's sooo LOUD especially if you're scannng your neck like I did. When we were finished I had a major headache due to the noises. I was in there for a while due to having two MRI's done. It's uncomfortable laying flat for so long on a hard area and they had to put this plastic cage looking thing over my neck and it went over my chin part. I guess it's to hold you so you don't move.. they give you a little button to push if you need a break or it becomes too much. Once I was finished the filpina lady helped me up. I think the lady who did my scan was a different lady from the last time but not sure. They joked about me not wanting a wheelchair this time. I told them it was okay. After laying down on the hard surface I wanted to stand. The lady who did the scan said it should be in my chart later and my dr will go over everything with me. It's still not on there so hopefully tomorrow. I took one star off not because the staff but because the smaller MRI machine sucks to be in that one! It's so tiny and you are confined. It's so loud maybe the tiny ear plugs with the headphones because I had the worst headache after. I would definitely recommend the concord location. This location and the Walnut Creek location the staff always seem so nice. read more

This was my second time getting breast MRI with contrast. The first I realized I had a reaction that left me nauseous and dizzy. The technician Deja was awesome she did everything possible to make sure I was more comfortable this time around. From placing an alcohol swab for me to breathe, turned the fans on and even rubbed my hand the entire time. Its people like her that makes appts like these not so stressful. read more

Leaving a review to solidify one of the other reviews on here for for the Walnut Creek location. My experience was at this location. I went in in November of last year for MRI. They checked me in at the window and I asked to pay my copay that said no it's fine. I'm waiting for a bill in the mail. Nothing. Last month I got a letter from a collections agency saying I had an outstanding balance and they were there to collect it. I received nothing. I did not opt in for paperless. No email received. No mail received. I this place is a joke. Their billing and reception are lacking integrity and competence. Pay your employees better or hire someone to do the job. I would advise driving further to a different center to avoid any billing issues and collection calls. Despite being with John muir they do not show up on MyChart for billing. And I check that very regularly. Seriously, this place is a scam and makes healthcare inaccessible and people won't want to come back to take care of their health. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Avoid Contra Costa Imaging Center (aka John Muir Imaging Center) at all costs. It is simply not worth doing any type of business with an untrustworthy and unethical facility like this. Beware of bait and switch pricing quotes that are SEVERELY understated. I was quoted $1000-1200 for an MRI, yet charged over $6000!! They have now spent over 6 months aggressively refusing to adjust pricing to quoted price. This place reeks of fraudulent billing practices and systematic extortion. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

Excellent staff, very professional throughout. Plenty of parking and easily accesible at street level. I dread MRIs (who doesn't?) but the staff put me at ease and was very accommodating. I highly recommend this facility! read more

It's located near the John Muir campus in Concord. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Came here on a Saturday morning for my son to have an MRI. Thought it would be fast but I guess some tech's didn't show up for work so there was a long wait. Had a 9am appt but didn't get in until 10:20. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. If it wasn't for the receptionist giving us updates and apologizing for the long wait I think many people would have been angry. She continued to come out and inform everyone what was happening and how soon everyone would be seen. Good customer service for a problem she could not have foreseen. Also wish they gave headphones to play music while inside the machine rather than just earplugs. Would have given them a 5 stars if the wait wasn't so long. read more

I had a very good experience with getting two shoulder MRIs here today. The front desk person, Wanda was a sweetheart, and Joaquin and John the techs were very good about keeping me informed in advance through the speaker about the time for each sequence and when to expect it start, which put me at ease. The facility was clean and modern, including the changing area, the gowns and pajamas, and the equipment. It was a breeze on Saturday...very few patients. They're open on Sundays, too. Glad I didn't have to go to an open MRI for my anxiety because the closed takes sharper images. My suggestion is to get some Xanax or equivalent from your doc if your anxious. read more

I have EXTREME claustrophobia and anxiety. That being said, I've had to have multiple MRIs for a medical condition. My first MRI was SO scary at first(I was hyperventilating and freaking out the night before and especially when I went in the room and saw the machine - crying, sweating, hyperventilating), but Curtis (AWESOME TECHNICIAN) calmed me down and waited until I was ready to go through with the procedure. He got me calmed down to the point where I was back to "normal" again and sleepy when the exam was finished (when you get an MRI, it's nice and cool in there at first, but at the end, it gets really warm, which surprised me a little, but no biggie). He even showed me what it would look like by using my wonderful, supportive husband as an example. I always get the last appointment of the day when I have to get an MRI done because they are able to take their time with me, and they are very patient with me and my anxiety/panic attacks when I see the machine. Curtis even put up with listening to the "Wicked" soundtrack (musical) for my first two MRIs. The last one, I treated him and myself to a good ol' Bruno Mars CD - "Unorthodox Jukebox". I have him a HUGE hug afterward. With each MRI, it got easier and easier to tolerate. Kim, an intern working with Curtis, was also extremely kind, gentle and patient with me through my last two MRI scans. They put a cloth over my eyes (so I wouldn't even have to see the machine)(and they did this before I even entered the room with the MRI machine), and headphones in with my music to make the experience as comfortable as possible. Nikki, the front desk nurse, is a lovely, patient lady and sometimes they all even stayed a little later if I wasn't ready to do the test yet. Needless to say, Curtis, Kim, and Nikki are the DREAM TEAM when it comes to Medical Imaging. Thank you all for being so kind and patient with me through all my visits with you! read more

Exceptional empathy for the apprehension of an MRI by the office staff & technician-operator, great cooperation and accommodation of the patient's concerns. I had two MRI's back to back and sailed through them. Use of a painkiller or sedative if appropriatre may sometimes be inherently beneficial in the procedure. read more

I have had nothing but excellent interactions with the staff of CCIC, who have shown nothing but professionalism and a desire to help throughout. Maureen and Rosalinde both went the extra mile in getting me into their office for an MRI on relatively short notice. The check-in secretary (I wish I remembered her name) and the radiographer were quick and efficient, doing their best and succeeding at making me comfortable for the MRI. The radiographer (Adriana) kept me up to date as to how much longer everything was going to take throughout the scan, making it far more tolerable than it would've been otherwise. When my podiatrist's office continued its trend of dropping the ball with doctor's results (and asking ME to do their job for them of getting stuff in its proper place!), they instantly came through with no issues. If you have to go through having an MRI or a CT, this is the place to do it. read more

Everyone I've encountered here is very friendly and helpful. At no time did I feel like I was interrupting the staff which I run into a lot at other places. I was also very impressed by how easy and streamlined this whole thing was. I was getting an MRI on my lower back and I was just paralyzed with fear because I'm VERY claustrophobic. Even though my doctor had given me something to help with the anxiety, it didn't seem to be working. Nancy at the front desk was so incredibly helpful by going out of her way to make me feel less anxious and afraid. I could tell she's good at dealing with giant babies like me. Between the earplugs, the virtual reality-like goggles and the earphones, I made it through the MRI. I did keep a death grip on the chicken switch but I didn't need to use it. As I was leaving the MRI room, I was surprised when, again, Nancy took a minute to see how I was. She helped make this entire thing so much easier. I would highly recommend this facility. read more

The receptionist on Saturday, 2/11/2017 at 2p was not the least bit welcoming. We entered the small, empty facility and my dad walked up to the window to check in for his appointment. With a smile, he said "I have a 2 or a 3. I'm not sure what time is listed because I was told to come at 2p and my MRI is at 3p." She responded with a curt "A 2 or 3 what?" Given what he just said, I'm certain most people, especially someone whose job is to check people in for their appointments, would know what he was talking about. Of course all of us picked up on the attitude immediately and my dad responded back with a curt "Appointment." She chose not to respond to him and looked past him at my husband, me and our two kids who had entered and stood behind my dad and asked, "Are all of you together?" After responding to her, she proceeded to check my dad in, still interacting with a rude, annoyed shortness. She asked for his ID and told him to fill out the paperwork. When he returned the paperwork, she told him to take his pre-procedure medication. He said that he was told he should give the medicine to someone and they would administer it at the right time. She pointed to the water dispenser and said that he could take it now. She then added a short, "You came too early." He said, "I was told to come at 2." We parked at 1:59p. He was not too early. She treated him as though interacting with him was an annoyance. Although she seems to have lightened up after he began responding without a smile and just providing short responses, the interaction was rude enough that I am posting it while waiting for my dad's MRI to be performed. I'm providing this comment because the reception was not a calming one for a procedure that many people, my dad included, already feel uneasy about experiencing. Kindness would go a long way for people like him who know they will not be comfortable in a small, confined space. Based on the other reviews, I think our experience may be a one off or bad timing. read more
