Dr. Radell is super professional and knowledgeable. I've gone to her before, her new office is terrific. I highly recommend her.

I am also busy and have a 3 month wait for non urgent patients. But when you have established patients with urgent concerns you accommodate them in an urgent fashion. 3 weeks is not urgent. A 13 year old with a new onset raised itchy facial rash is not something that can wait 3 weeks. I told them this is not up to my expectations of care and is poor patient care and they said "we are sorry to hear that but we do understand if you will need to see another dermatologist. We have a lot of urgent concerns that has been requesting to schedule but we cannot accommodate everyone." Wow. As a physician I am appalled. I would never let my staff say this to a patient!

IS who I trust to take care of my family in the East Bay. I know they are in the hands of a highly skilled, caring, and extremely knowledgeable doctor, and feel so lucky to have the great fortune of having this incredible physician be part of their care team. She has the highest ethical standards and interactions with her support staff are always helpful too! I would encourage anyone who is looking for a Dermatologist they can count on to schedule a visit with her before her panel completely fills up!

Aside from confusing directions from Waze and an elevator requiring keycards to access the building…read moremy first experience was great. True my visit was just a few minutes but in those few minutes I believe I received the information and treatment I needed for two warts on my feet. I avoided getting any kind of spa treatments on my feet because of a wart on top of one of my toes and another near my hell on the opposite foot. I was told they are contagious and should not be touched. I could put a band aid on them and still get a pedicure. Also I was informed that warts are historically difficult to treat and could require multiple treatments- up to nine! I had gone to a local podiatrist whose treatment was a very mild freeze with a canister that was very small. At Berman they had a canister that was roughly 5 times as large and delivered quite a punch to the warts. I was told it might sting a little and sting it did! I'm hoping I won't have to go 8 more times but I think I went to the right place. I know my feet will be beach ready before summer.

Just ok. Visited twice with concerns, but each time the visit felt rushed and like they didn't…read morereally care. I mentioned my first skin concern and they briefly addressed it, then said "ok great bye!" No one asked me if there was anything else. Why is it so hard to book a consult an have a provider genuinely interested in addressing your concerns?

Dr. Patel of Golden State Dermatology is a caring, personable, conscientious, and well informed…read moredoctor. For years now, he has taken good care of us through our annual whole body skin cancer screenings, and follows up with all necessary tests and procedures. After his first visit with Dr. Patel, our adult son highly recommended Dr. Patel to myself and my husband following the semi retirement of Dr. Becker, our previous long time doctor at Golden State. Now Dr. Patel is a cherished dermatologist for all three of us. The office staff is also competent and friendly. Our visits are seamless and pleasant. We are VERY grateful that Golden State Dermatology, affiliated with, but not managed by John Muir Health, continues to offer these vital and reassuring annual cancer screenings, while other groups, such as Kaiser, and even the John Muir Foundation Practices (JMH managed) are under management now shortsighted enough about essential preventative care to discontinue these essential routine screenings. Thank you Golden State and Dr. Patel!

After reading the one-star reviews, I should have taken them more seriously -- patient comfort does not seem to be a priority here. As soon as I walked into the room and sat down, she handed me protective glasses and instructed me to sit sideways. There was no real consultation, explanation of the process, or discussion about pain management beforehand. Once the procedure started, I asked if they had numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable. She left the room and returned with a syringe, injecting my arm 6-7 times with little explanation of what it was. Immediately after setting the syringe down, she began the procedure. I asked if we should wait a few minutes for the area to become numb, and she responded, "Don't worry, we're almost done." When I questioned the purpose of the numbing injections if we weren't going to allow time for them to work, she didn't respond. The entire appointment lasted about seven minutes. I left feeling rushed, unheard, and uncomfortable. For a first tattoo removal session -- especially one involving injections and laser treatment -- I expected better communication and more attention to patient comfort.

The person who did my x-rays had to double check some things, but even with that it was still a super quick process. What I didn't like was that the person who checked me in apparently, despite giving them my insurance card, didn't input that information. So I had to pay out of pocket for the treatment ($600), which maybe isn't a lot, but as a student working part-time, it sure felt like a lot of money. I would just say watch and make sure that they actually do everything correctly because if not, you might end up fighting with your insurance for reimbursement for almost a year.

What they did: · My primary care physician refused timely follow-up for a deteriorating condition, explicitly prioritizing new patients over existing urgent care. When I complained, they labeled my complaint "bullying" and escalated me to administrators - then encouraged me to "seek other care" while I was in acute medical distress, without referral or transition plan. They ignored ER findings and specialist documentation, refused to diagnose or treat, and repeatedly demanded I return to work with no medication or plan - directly causing loss of FMLA and disability benefits. By April 2024, they had constructively abandoned me: no discharge, no referral, no notice - just appointment schedules showing zero availability for six months. When I requested to amend my medical records, they denied it without legal justification and told me to schedule an appointment that didn't exist. John Muir is dangerous. Do not trust them with your life. Date of experience: July 2021 - April 2024 (ongoing harm) Resulting harm: Organ damage, severe PTSD, job loss, housing loss, permanent disability, and thousands in out-of-pocket costs - including leaving the country to find care.
