Had my MRI done at this place. Very friendly staff. Parking was a breeze and they validated. They had a locker where you can put your belongings. I didn't know that the MRI machine was that noisy but they give you an earplugs. Instructions from the staff were easy to follow. My overall experience was very positive. read more

This place is very hidden, it's in the middle of downtown Concord so a lot of stop lights. They do offer parking but I'm not sure if you have to pay. I parked on the street because I wasn't sure about parking. Once I got there it seems like a business only building but once you look around and look at the virtual information screen you can find where you are looking for. I arrived at my appointment on time and was instructed to drink water one hour before the appointment. I did that of course and they did take a bit long and holding in my pee for that long caused my stomach to hurt. I was so close to just going to pee but luckily they called me in. The ultrasound technician was really nice and walked through everything. Once we were done I asked about my results and she said she's not allowed to discuss that which is understandable. My overall experience was great, I just didn't like holding in my pee for that long but that just my preference. read more

This is an update for the prior review I left. I gave this place a one star previously because they sucked. However, it's under a new manager Michelle. She's only been there a couple of months. She needs time to work out the kinks. She's coming into someone's else's mismanagement. Please give her the opportunity to correct the problems. I don't know her I just met her when I had some of the the same complaints posted here. She is a wonderful lady, and I truly believe that she is going to check this place. But it cannot be done overnight. I wantt to thank you Michelle for the over the top concern you gave me about my issues with this place. Poor service Im walking with a cane I was late 10 minutes and was told I wouldn't be seen after waiting an 1 hour and to schedule.

The staff at NorCal Imaging is so warm and friendly! Especially the adorable ladies at the reception desk. I wish I would have gotten their names, but they are all so wonderful! I've also had great experiences with both Ultrasound technicians that I've went to. Been here twice so far, both times for an ultrasound to check a lump on my neck (luckily, both ultrasounds have ruled it as benign). The process has been quick, efficient, and painless. They usually send my results to my doctor's office right away. Making an appointment is pretty easy, and they've usually called me first to schedule. The check-in process is also fast and easy. They have an underground parking lot that they provide free validation payment for while you're there for an appointment. Just remember to stop back by the reception desk to get the stickers for your parking ticket. An overall pleasant experience! If I'm ever in need of x-rays or more ultrasounds in the future, I will definitely use NorCal Imaging again! read more

I have gone to Norcal imaging in the past and had no complaints about the facility, etc. Today, I spent 10 minutes on hold in the morning and another 15 minutes on hold in the afternoon. I was unable to get through schedule an appointment. What was even more irritating was I kept on hearing the same information about enhanced breast screening not relevant the first time and increasingly irritating with each repeat. Guess I'll be going to John muir where I got through immediately. read more

I called first to confirm that they were open. Drove 20 minutes thru traffic.Showed up for a simple chest X/Ray and was informed that the X-ray machine was broken! That would have been good to know before we drove all the way there! I guess it must be REALLY hard to change the outgoing message on their phone system. read more

Firstly most every time I called I was immediately placed on hold for 10-15 min. I hung up and same thing they picked up and put me on hold again for 0ver 20 min. 6/12/24. This has happened to me several times. Regardless if it's the concord or Walnut Creek location. This is unexceptionable. Also it takes more than 3 days to get your report. With that said the staff in my case were friendly and efficient. The office and other areas are very clean. read more

They do not provide the services listed on their website. If you do not have a mammogram tech, do not offer it on your website. Also I was sent away to call another location who informed me that the receptionist at Concord could have looked and scheduled or given me insight into the other locations availability, which she did not do or offer. This review is from 4/23/2019 First, Shortly after we arrived, a lady came in. After she checked in she proceeded to talk loudly on her phone for at least 45 minutes. She was using the F word a lot. They should have a sign saying no talking on cell phones in the lobby! Second, The x-ray technician has terrible bedside manner. She was rude to me while she greeted me and walked me to the x-ray room. I came in for a complete xray of my right foot, with weight bearing. It was on the prescription. After she took my xrays while I was laying down, she said I was done. I told her I was supposed to get weight bearing xrays also. She said it wasn't on the prescription. I said it was and should get the original that I still had, because they had made a copy. She said that she couldn't see the prescription on the copy she had because they don't show up when copying from the original. Really? Then how would she know what xrays were needed? What kind of best practices is that? Instead of accepting responsibility, she blamed me. She said I should have spoken up when I knew I was getting the wrong xrays. I told her that I didn't know that she was giving me the wrong xrays. The prescription said "complete right foot, weight bearing". I thought I was supposed to get those and the standing ones. She said, " No, those are totally different xrays with different set ups. You should have told me what xrays you needed. The room needs to be set up now. You'll have to sit there and wait!" She proceeded to move to x-ray arm to a different location. 10 seconds. Then she rolled a wooden staircase towards me by about 5'. I'll give her 20 seconds for that. Wow! What an inconvenience I was. She took the xrays, then proceeded to reprimand me again for not telling her ahead of time what I needed. I reminded her that it was on the prescription and I thought that the xrays she did first were part of that prescription. She again says no and that I needed to be my own advocate. I waited for her to burn the CD for me to take to my doctor. And AGAIN, she repeated the reprimand! I didn't respond this time. It was pointless. The receptionists were very friendly, but I will never go to NorCal Imaging again! read more

Very nice staff. Everyone was kind and efficient and the place is clean. Park in the lot below the building, come up the elevator, and you'll come out very near their door. They validate too. I was there on a Weds afternoon and there was only one couple in the waiting room. The staff went above and beyond, coming out to the street with a wheelchair for me, then pushing me a pretty long way (because I didn't know about how the elevator would take me right to their door). Everything about this office is just wonderful! The front desk staff are lovely, really helpful and understanding. The facility is incredibly clean and welcoming. The technician I saw was kind, respectful, repeatedly asked my consent whenever he needed to touch me to adjust something (consent is the bomb!) and was quick and thorough. The MRI Tecnician (young gentleman) has helped me on more than one occasion. Very kind and patient. Faculty is well kept too.

The techs were great, however this place seriously needs to hire a new billing department because the current people are completely incompetent. We sent the correct insurance to them at least three times yet they still manage to bill the wrong one. Great job guys! We now have a bill from collections that we have to dispute. As the cherry on top, it's almost impossible to get a hold of someone because their line likes to disconnect. SMH. read more

Generally this place is okay but they really need to specify that when you're told to fast that includes water if it does. My husband took time off work to come for an appointment and had to reschedule because this was never mentioned. My daughter's doctor ordered an X-ray on her legs and thankfully this location is right up the street from her Dr's. office. I was initially worried about a long wait but I don't know if this was a good day to come in or what, but we were in and barely had a wait at all. The staff was very sweet and attentive to my daughter, naturally her only being 4 years old they could tell she was a little antsy. I also liked that they let me participate in helping her. I really did help her to be calm during the whole process. We were in and out and had results by the end of the day. I was very happy with the friendly staff and their efficiency. read more

It seems their system for referrals is not efficient. After seeing my doctor on Wednesday and getting a referral to NorCal Imaging, I called to make an appointment. NorCal said they had no referral in my name and I had to have the office send a referral. On Thursday I called my doctor's office to ask a for a referral; they said it had been sent on Wednesday, maybe NorCal didn't receive it; my doctor's office sent a second referral. About an hour later I called NorCal and got the same story - no referral. I said, "My doctor's office sent it yesterday and again today, I don't understand how you don't have it?" The representative said, "Let me check the fax machine." Five minutes later: "Yes the referral was on the fax machine. When would you like an appointment?" Hmm. The efficiency with that doesn't bode well for the efficiency of the procedure! read more

I had a breast MRI this morning. I was scheduled for 830 and was instructed to show up 30 minutes early for paperwork. I was late and got there right at 830, but they were very gracious and took me in anyway. The MRI itself was easy, took only about 15 minutes. The IV was painless. Very good experience overall. Stay away! I was surprised to see complaints here of the same things I experienced during my attempt to get CT scan at this place. My doctor's office sent me here and even though I had requested John Muir, thought I'd try it, especially since it would have taken more time and hassle to get the insurance company to approve a different provider. When I first made appt over the phone, this office argued with me about how much I would be paying for the service (I know what my co-pay is, but they insisted I would be paying a deductible). I wasn't too worried since they are in-network, but I did have my insurance company contact them in advance. Then when I arrived for appointment the lady said "So you'll be making a partial payment today?" No, I will pay my copay and the insurance company called you about it. She agreed to that amount, but would not give in that I wouldn't owe them more later, and she managed to insult my insurance coverage publicly while she was at it. At the end when the technician DID NOT SHOW UP, I got that chunk of change refunded. I was told to come at 7:30 for 8:00 appt. When I arrived was told technician would actually be arriving at 8:30. Okaaay...I was supposed to be the first appointment, so after other patients are coming and going, at 8:40 I finally ask if my technician will be showing up. The lady goes to the back to check and tells me we're just waiting on a machine that just takes 5 minutes to warm up. Then while I wait I'm treated to the two front desk ladies gossiping about their coworkers. It sounded like someone had given notice and was calling it in - my technician perhaps??? It actually made me doubt the quality of the CT scan I was about to receive as I worried about why the technician was late and what condition s/he would be in to conduct this important test well. They really need to install privacy glass in that waiting room. At another time they talked with one of the patients sitting in the waiting who was missing some records. Then they called another office, loudly stating his full name over the phone. I tried not to listen and it felt awkward. It gets to be 9am, so I ask again and she says oh I think my manager is talking to the technician on the phone now (WHAT? so the technician isn't even here yet and the warming up the machine story was a LIE???). I say well I think I need to go to work now... So she comes back and says the manager says they can refund me. A sorry or some explanation would have been nice. Or how about the "manager" coming out to apologize or give some indication about why the technician didn't show up. Crazy that others here had the same happen to them - so it's not a one-time thing! I didn't argue with them about anything but mentioned I might go elsewhere instead of rescheduling after this poor experience. The lady did half-hardheartedly apologize at the very end, so that was nice at least. Two weeks later now I finally got through to the right person at my doctor's office to change the referral (holidays) so I have to wait for that to be approved by insurance now and it sucks because my copay for CT scans went up $50 with the new year. read more

A year ago I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound cause I felt a lump and Joy was the one who did my mammogram. I ended up having to go back in for a biopsy and I was so scared I was crying from the time I left my house until they did the biopsy. I felt a little less scared when Joy came in and said she would be in there with me. She was so sweet and comforting she was even wiping my tears .SHE IS THE BEST! I went in to get a bone scan a month or so ago and asked if she was in that day and the guy who did my scan said she is no longer there. I was so sad to hear that she is not there with them anymore. read more

Made an appointment for an MRI. The office called to confirm for a different time which would not work with my schedule. I was then transferred to a different department and they said, "This conversation isn't getting anywhere.". I asked to speak with the supervisor, who was unavailable. She said she would call me me back. The same rude woman called me back and and asked if I still wanted to speak with the supervisor. I was then put on eternal hold, so I hung up. I took my mother here for an MRI last week. With the COVID-19 situation, I was worried about taking her in anywhere. However, when I had called and spoke with the office manager, she was incredibly reassuring and explained all their procedures to me. The appointment itself felt safe, clean, and was very quick, little waiting. We were treated so kindly by everyone there, from the people at the front desk to the tech she saw. I had not been to their Concord location before, but I would absolutely come back to this in the future if either of us needed imaging. read more

Still think the staff at this NorCal Imaging is great, though they wanted me to fax them my doctor's order and that would have been a pain, but we worked it out. The office has moved to 2300 Clayton Rd, which is that red brick building right where Clayton Rd curves. Turn onto Park Ave to enter the parking garage (they validate) right across from the BART parking lot. If you miss the turn onto Park, it's kind of a circuitous route back. The new office has lockers to keep your valuables in while you're trapsing around in a tie-back gown. See you NorCal ladies next year at the usual mammogram time. read more

I am writing this review as I wait for my wife in the filthy waiting room. The chairs here are beige and are all badly soiled. My wife's appointment was at ten thirty...they have you arrive a half hour early for paperwork. This was an MRI with contrast...meaning two bottles early in the morning. At eleven o'clock they still had not called my wife in after emptying the lobby of many patients that had come in after us. I asked why it had taken so long and they said they were "getting the room ready". A few minutes later they called her in and would not allow me to accompany her...indicating they had "no chairs". My wife does not like needles...I wanted to be there to support her while they started the IV. The two stars are attributable to the counter staff...especially "April" that was very pleasant. We are in our late 50s and have been to countless image centers in our lives. I have never authored a review of an image center but felt compelled due to our very poor experience. read more

Oh, and if you dare to cancel your appointment, plan for another hour+ to be on hold before you even get to speak with an agent. I SWEAR I'm not particularly injury prone - but I am, admittedly, a bit hardheaded and maybe pushed too hard.. I've wound up in the NorCal Imaging office quite a few times in the last few years.. MRIs, ultrasounds, x-rays... in every case, my techs have been friendly, efficient, compassionate to my various movement restrictions - in short, TOTAL professionals. I've left with disc in hand in a matter of minutes every time, and always been seen promptly. Office has decent reading material, unoffensive pop music, and cheery front-end staff. This would be a 5-star situation, save for the difficulty getting thru on the phone to schedule appointments. In the past, I've sat on hold for longer than it takes me to walk down from my house (I know because I did just that once... jogged the mile or so while on hold.) This last appointment, I didn't have the option of scheduling in person (I'm on crutches). 50 minutes on hold yesterday (but again, I'm home on crutches, so not a total disaster as I don't have a whole lot I can do anyway..) The woman who eventually picked up was exceedingly nice, accommodating to my particular physical limitations, and apologetic for the hold time (& apparently the sole front desk staffer yesterday.) People call in sick, life happens, totally understandable if it's not a trend... it is a busy office and the staff always seems to be jamming. Note to management: perhaps allocate more budget to additional staffing at this location? Phone wait time is the only real downside to an otherwise very pleasant and professional experience. So, in short: great staff, convenient location, minus one star for scheduling being a time-suck, which seems more a reflection of corporate budget allocation than anything else. read more

I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound a week ago today, and also saw the radiologist dr. Hamlin. athe techs that did my imaging and dr. Hamlin made me feel very comfortable but stressed I need to be seen immediately for my biopsy. However their office team and biopsy coordinators are border line incompetent and have no sense of urgency. It's been 7 days since my appt. I call every day as wait an hour on hold (literally) everyday to try to schedule my biopsy and everyday they tell me they don't have my order, my referral, my records, etc. and I have to have them resent. Now it's been as I mentioned, 8 days and I do not have an apppimtment on the books for my biopsy yet and the coordinator tells me there is nothing available until November but she can't even attempt to put me on the schedule yet since she isn't done entering and coordinating everything. I would not recommend anyone try this place if you value your health and time. read more

Great facility. I went in for x-rays on two separate occasions and was in and out of their office within 10-15 minutes, with a copy of the X-rays in hand. Everyone that I interacted with at the office was very friendly and helpful, ranging from the front office employees to the x-ray technician to the office manager. I had an X-ray here in August 2015. This month I received a collections notice for an outstanding co-pay for this service - that was paid *on the day of* the service. Now I have the hassle of dealing with a collections agency to prove I've paid this, having never received any bills from them directly. If they can't keep financial records straight, choose a different provider. Lessons learned. read more

I have had mammograms at NorCal for over 5 years and am familiar with their process. My doctor's office faxes the order and I arrive early to complete required paperwork. I arrived at 8:45 for a 9:15 appointment. At 9:00, the receptionist told me they did not have the order and if I don't get it by 9:15, my appointment will be cancelled. At 9:10, my doctor's nurse faxed the order again. At 9:18, the receptionist said the technician will see me, but it will be awhile. It was only mins. past my appointment, the order had been sent a second time and there was only one other woman in the waiting room. The mammogram was finally done at 10:00. During the hour that I waited, two other women experienced similar situations. One woman said Nor Cal called her to come in and she also had to have an authorization sent twice. My mammogram had to be done that day because I was going to be out of state for two months caring for my mother who has breast cancer. I wanted to reassure her that I had my mammogram and was fine. I spoke to the new office manager who was very understanding thus the 2 star rating. However, I will not return to this facility. read more

Clean facility. Definitely have to wait 60min plus for an xray. Appointments for other exams are priority. Xrays are walkin basis only. The ladies upfront were professional. Parking is validated. The technician was nice and got the xrays done in a timely manner. read more
