IDDMC is the place that John Muir and other providers in Contra Costa send their patients when the…read morepatient is in need of monoclonal antibodies and their phone number for that is 925-932-7124. Luckily for me (and perhaps not for IDDMC) when I was doing the research to find another clinic ICCMC's employee told me about and told me she'd send me a text about it when I told her I was driving to the doctors (which she did not do as she said she would). I found out who does this sort of treatment in CoCoCo, and the phone number was the one I was given. This discovery led me to write this review. I called right after my appointment with John Muir Medical Center Urgent Care, around 11:30. At first there is a recording stating that one has reached Infection Disease Doctors. Then I was placed on hold. When someone answered I told them what I needed, they took down my number and told me someone would get back to me. I was clear as to what I needed, what the doctor told me to get. Two plus hours later I called again. I asked when I would expect a call back and was told by the answering service they did not know. Another hour later, I called my health insurance, hoping they would have another lead for me. United Health went above and beyond to try and find another clinic. They even called this clinic where they were told that the number I gave was not correct and it did not go through. Really? I was getting phone calls from Urgent Care, the pharmacy, my mother, my work. I think they just flat out lied to my insurance company. When I finally did get a call towards the end of the day, the person on the phone said "you called a few times today, we were with patients and this was the first time we could call." Ok. I guess I am use to a doctor's office having a front staff. No mention of trying to get a hold of me earlier, my guess is this person was perhaps not the person who lied to my insurance company. (And they wonder why I called twice and then got my insurance company to call, their professionalism was off from the start.) I was told they were not doing infusions for this week as they did not have a "filter" they needed. I think I heard it right. But bottom line, they knew this when I called the first time, when I got their recording, when I got their answering service. It was too late for me to call around and find another clinic. Now, what could they have done? How about put that on your initial recording SINCE THIS PHONE NUMBER IS FOR THAT? How about you allow your answering service to tell me no appointments were being booked? How about just returing your phone calls for SUCH A TIME SENSITIVE TREATMENT within an hour? Really, IDDMC could have made other choices but instead they chose to lie to my insurance company, give me attitude about calling every two hours, and then did not follow through with the number to another clinic when I was told they would. They cost me a day in my quest to get this treatment. I finally did find Total Infusions in Oakland. They had an amazing online tool to schedule an appointment, they called me immediately after I scheduled on to tell me they a same day cancellation. They were so professional when I went in. Service was excellent. Overall, I would not trust IDDMC to do anything for me. This reflects poorly on John Muir too. (Just noticed I did not post this when it happened in mid-April, I blame COVID Brain, but it still stands. Thank you Yelp for reminding me.)

The office itself is clean and organized, and my infusion was painless, and Karen is so good at what she does- I am left with no bruises at the injection sites. My Primary care Physician and the workers comp system had me write a biography to try to get anyone to look at my case (it is outside the usual workers comp claim). I give two stars due to the fact that they even agreed to see me. 0 stars for the care provided or the interest in a patient's health. I feel that any time that was spent was waisted, that the doctor had little to no interest in helping, and that the testing performed was 95% repeated from previous health providers. The Office was unclear regarding scheduling and what testing was being performed. I waited many months to see this Doctor that was intended to be the "Sherlock Holmes " for infectious diseases. I felt it was more of a parking attendant situation. This may all be due to worker's compensation system being so broken that my consultation with this office was simply a way to casually bill the system.... never intending to help the patient. Patient's visiting with functional insurance policies may have a completely different experience. I have found this painfully obvious while trying to get help. If you are looking for help and using worker's compensation.... I would save yourself the time and disappointment. I would also save the worker's compensation system the money. Sincerely disappointing.

Dr. Wasserman is a great Infectious Disease Specialist, and I highly recommend him.

I was referred by my urologist/oncologist for bladder issues caused by cancer radiation, and thanks to the hyperbaric treatment here, I've seen incredible improvement -- for all I know, my bladder problems might be over. On top of that, I came in with a deep coral puncture wound from a recent sports injury. It had been infected and was healing very slowly. Within just about 2 weeks of starting treatment, the healing dramatically accelerated, and after 4 weeks, the wound had fully healed. Dr. Tufft is truly outstanding. He's incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and deeply caring. He was consistently two steps ahead of even the wound care team at a major nearby medical center, and he went above and beyond to ensure my treatment was the best it could be. Pam and Barry, his assistants, are also fantastic -- kind, attentive, and always ready to help. They worked hard to make sure I was comfortable and that the treatment plan fit smoothly into my schedule. The treatment, Dr. Tufft, Pam and Barry have made a huge difference in my recovery and quality of life. I'm so grateful I came here!

He did a range of motion test on me and when I told him to stop because it hurt, he pushed my arm further. I told him to stop repeatedly and he continued hurting me. He was not taking notes at any point while he was adjusting my arm and hurting me. When I told him that I had limited feeling and a colder sensation in the affected arm, he told me that he had never heard of those symptoms and insinuated that I made them up. He therein stated, unprovoked, that my arm was not blue and I responded that I never told him my arm was blue. He asked if I had a dislocated shoulder and when I told him I didn't know, he told me I couldn't have a dislocated shoulder. The line of questioning/statements were incongruous to the conversation and were alarming. He was hostile throughout the appointment and made me extremely uncomfortable to the point that I had to tell him that I felt uncomfortable and needed to leave. I feared that this has happened to other patients and when I arrived home, I checked online, and was affirmed in my fears that he has. This is not a person who should be performing any type of exam on any person. I reported him to the medical board. This person should not be in a position where he is "treating" vulnerable people.

While some reviews mention his reputation for being very direct, I've always found his directness to be compassionate and supportive. Dr. Wyzyskowski is honest, thorough, and not afraid to tell it like it is--qualities I deeply value in a doctor. He focused on what was truly necessary to improve my quality of life, such as cortisone shots and physical therapy for my frozen shoulders, and he thoroughly tested and treated my tennis elbow and carpal tunnel. His care has always felt genuine, and I truly felt he went above and beyond to ensure I received the treatment I needed. I left every appointment feeling confident in his expertise. For anyone who values a straightforward and respectful doctor who genuinely cares about his patients, I highly recommend Dr. Wyzyskowski. His honesty, empathy, and inclusive approach (the opposite of ableist) are a breath of fresh air compared to the dismissiveness I've experienced elsewhere. 10/10!

I'm pretty direct and polite in voicing my concerns and each time I was bringing something new up, she would either roll her eyes or huff. I even mentioned something another one of my KP doctors had recommended and discussed with me and again, she rolled her eyes and shut that conversation down quick saying "there's no such thing." This was after me trying to let her know I spoke with another person in the department about it as well regarding my family history but was told to revisit after my pregnancy. I'm grateful she isn't my primary physician and will not accept any appts scheduled with her moving forward. There were a lot of times that treatments or procedures were denied. My wife's cancer was vicious and aggressive. She tried every probably every chemo or immunotherapy on the market, did radiation multiple times, did infusions, had surgeries, and they always did their best to keep her truthfully informed, and keep her spirits up, even when the news wasn't good.
