Biscuits and Gravy with hash browns

This is a really nice diner hidden away in Vista near Rancho Buena Vista High School on Melrose Ave. I ride my bike down this street often and had no idea Connie's was tucked away in this shopping center. We had a really nice breakfast and sat outside for sidewalk dining. They have 6 or so tables inside and a like number outside. Connie was very friendly and attentive during all parts of our meal. I had the ham & cheese omelette with home fries and sourdough toast. Coffee was also hot and tasty. Others in my party had the biscuits and gravy with hash browns and also a kids meal with a pancake, sausage and an egg. Really enjoyed ourselves and When the meal was over Connie brought out 3 peanut butter and jelly cookies. Never had one before but it was still soft and warm and delicious. Def going back!!

You should try this small restaurant. I went there for lunch yesterday which was my first visit. It is a modest, storefront restaurant, run by the owner, Connie, and her son. Although I don't often eat red meat, I had to try the meatloaf sandwich after seeing it on the menu. It was delicious. The bread was lightly toasted perfectly. The meatloaf thick and flavorful, with a light tomato crust, just like my mom used to make. The potato salad was homemade, with the peels on--a far cry from the commercial version one usually finds. My friend had the French-dip sandwich, which he found to be equally wonderful. I am looking forward to going back to further explore the menu at this wonderful little restaurant. By the way, Connie offers take-out dinners once a week, the menu being "her choice."

First time trying this place and it is good! I was very surprised by how hot the food was. I went to the gas station and starbucks and just got back and then Xu delivered the food. he must have been speeding because it was still hot. I appreciate that greatly. I tried the biscuits and gravy because the last time I had it elsewhere, it was not good. But this dish was great! it was a lot for me so I barely finished one biscuit of the Biscuits & Gravy. I didn't finish the stage and the inky thing I ate in its entirety was the scrambled egg. For the Little Piggy , it looked good but I didn't try it. However, all of it was eaten. And I really had a hankering for Pancakes, so I ordered that and it was good. I ate a quarter of it and then my bf finished all of the other plates. I will definitely order from this place again.

The building is Small but mighty good food. We have been to Connie's before and it never disappoints. Always plenty of food for the price and the service is always on point. Today we had biscuits and gravy. It came with eggs to order, hash browns and a sausage patty. Delicious on all fronts. Connie has been at this location for 11 years and she and her son have a great place. Plenty of to go orders for a Sunday at 8:00 am. Her bill comes with homemade specialty cookies. Today was orange, cherry, and white chocolate!! Divine!!

Visiting our family in Vista and they recommended for all of us to go to Connie's... I underestimated how great this food would be. I get why they have such amazing reviews! The food was so, so good. We ordered the grilled roast beef (delicious!), the western burger (delicious!), the Hawaiian burger (also delicious), the Reuben (oh my gosh so good), and three French dips... you can't go wrong with any of it! And she cooks everything herself, real marinated meats, slow cooking, and you can taste the difference in her food vs a standard processed restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

Delicious sausage and gravy eggs Benedict. Perfectly cooked hash browns.

Perfectly perfect fluffy pancakes, soft fluffy eggs and delicious biscuits and gravy! Breakfast food done well and at a price point that won't break the bank. This is a neighborhood place and the customers call the owner, Connie, by name. It is a tiny little diner with additional seating outside. The decor has cute signs on the walls that you can read while you wait. This is how breakfast food is done right. Connie is no-nonsense so don't go in trying to customize stuff or you might get the side-eye. But you can see how much the owner cares for the regulars and when she has time she will stop and chat- but the place is busy so go early. This is a classic breakfast diner where you go to get good food- plain and simple. It's a local place and it's delicious. I wish there were more places like it.

Was in the area and had been hearing about Connie's for a while, so I stopped in to try it. I was in the mood for breakfast, but not a big breakfast cause I wasn't that hungry. It is very home Homie feeling. There's lots of fun little art sayings on the wall and it's just a small sweet spot. I ordered a few sides and the service was super friendly and quick. My eggs and hashbrowns were tasty and my water was kept filled. I love the little outdoor seating area too, but I was a little too cold to sit outside when I got my check there was a chocolate cookie with white chocolate chips with it. That was a very nice touch. I will definitely come back and I want to try their Wednesday night dinner $12 specials

Super rude, was coming in with a group of 7 and the waitress older woman gave us a sour stare and spoke really rudely. We are from out of town and the menu looked great but customer service was awful. Don't recommend anyone to even give it a chance.

It was easy peasy. It's located in the beautiful Bressi ranch area. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the restaurant is loungey and cozy at the same time. Not too loungey to be kid inappropriate and not too cozy either. Celebrated a birthday dinner and was happy to see they offered delicious desserts such as the peanut butter cake which was the fav of the table. They have an extensive but not overwhelming menu. They do have plenty of drink offerings including mocktails, whiskey , soda, and wine. Love the variety of burgers they have. We ordered different types and were able to cut into quarters to share. The fav of the table was the fig but I still root and hold it down for the bacon jalapeño. I love the mixture of sweet and savory. Appetizers that were delicious include the Korean frachos and Brussel sprouts. Will definitely return for family and or date night, they have a kids menu, and they also have turf out front for the kids to play.

I honestly couldn't believe we'd found a spot like that so close to our hotel. So good that we went there BOTH nights around 9 or 10pm when we were in town. I don't really enjoy regular bar drinks and wasn't that excited to go to Eureka until I sat down and looked at the drink menu. This is my kind of place....plus the food (appetizers & desserts) were great too. Items we tried were fried pickles, onion rings, dry-rub wings, cheesecake, turtle pie and carrot cake. The fried pickles were probably the best I've had. Crisp and delicious batter. The Eureka dry rub is definitely the way to go. I still crave them! Desserts were great too but I was buzzed eating them back at the hotel so you know..... Drinks we tried: Pineapple Tequila Sour, Headhunter King and Wild Child. The first night I ordered and LOVED the Pineapple Tequila Sour and my husband ordered the Headhunter King which he didn't like at all so guess what? I drank it and enjoyed it and he had a spiced rum and coke. LOL The second night I had a couple of Wild Childs. OMG, they are amazing. I wish I could find that drink here in Tucson. My boring husband had more rum & cokes, The environment at Eureka is great. We did sit at the bar both nights and that bar is hoppin'! I like that there is so much outdoor space too which allows families to enjoy themselves and let the kids have room to have fun. Eureka is a great spot and I highly recommend it. Pros: This spot is a good place to hang out if you're looking for a casual bar with activities like billiards and darts. The vibe is fun without being overly packed, which made it easy to enjoy the space. They have darts (which are free, you just leave your ID), a pool table, and a music queue system where you can pick songs to play, which adds an interactive element to the night. I didn't try the food but the drinks were solid and did not disappoint. The overall energy of the place was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. It's one of those spots where you can relax, hang out, and have a good time. Cons: Parking here is probably the biggest downside. The lot is really small and gets packed quickly, so I wouldn't recommend relying on it. We parked nearby after eating at Copper Kings Burgers and just walked over, which ended up being way easier. Verdict: If you're looking for a fun, chill bar in San Marcos with games, music, and good drinks, this is a great spot to check out. Just plan ahead for parking, but overall it's definitely worth it and I would come back again!

But I can't tell if most people were just in the bar area - we were able to get a booth! The place was nice and loud since every one was having a good time. Several parties of 3+ and I saw 1 party of 6. They were doing an explorer menu from Yucatan. Interesting thing to do during Black History Month - I won't lie. I was surprised to see it. But we ordered from that menu. We ordered the fried plantain that came with a sauce and cilantro, sausage and pepper soup, and the BBQ pork. I enjoyed everything except for the plantain. They were basically a huge disc that was slightly crunchy. I was not expecting that since if I want a crunchy plantain, I will eat actual plantain chips. The soup was fantastic! It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming and full of flavor. Wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup. And last but not least, the BBQ pork was very good. Served on lettuce as well, so if you are doing keto you can omit eating the tortillas that came with the dish. It also had pickled red onions and a salsa. The salsa was mild and with everything in the taco, flavors were balanced. We also ordered 6 Cajun wings. But today, they didn't seem as flavorful, a pity really. A grilled cheese was ordered but with hamburger meat inside. That seemed good and it came with fries. Washed all of this down with a sour that was called Boozy Berry & my fiancé had a West Coast beer. Food was enjoyable, atmosphere was fun. We will be back again.

They TOTALLY need a Yelp Waitlist or something on Wednesday Nights. We were seated and our server had not come for about 10 mins. We thought that this was odd. Finally, a server asked if we had a server and we said no. He was happy to be our server and we were happy to have him. He did an excellent job taking care of our dining questions, food allergies, and any requests that we had. His name on the ticket was Patrick I but he introduced himself as Isai/Esai. All of the other tables had happy hour display cards on the table except ours so we had to flag down a server to grab that for us. They were pretty busy so two servers divided their time between us. One of our servers was chatty and pleasant and helped us with our decisions, the other checked in with us regularly but was very busy. We ordered 2 personal pizzas, pot stickers, a margarita and a beer. The pot stickers, tasted good dipped in the sauce. The pizzas, were crispy, cheesy and meaty. The Margarita a little sweet but I wasn't surprised by that. When I had initially looked at the menu on the website, I realized at some point I had signed up for the rewards program. I had a reward for a free pizookie so I redeemed that. We ordered the ice cream to eat there and took the pizookie to go. The cookie stayed warm until I got home and couldn't resist tasting it. It was perfectly crispy and gooey at the same time. I enjoyed it the next day too. This is my 3rd time ever to a BJ's, one in the Bay Area, one in La Jolla and this one. I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

I want to start by saying that for whatever my opinion matters (and it should matter very little),…read morethis is just how I came away feeling about this place. Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.
