Great food, quick service. All around good breakfast! Definitely a great breakfast place in the neighborhood!

We are rwgulars at connie's. I myself have almost been going there since it open. Thier food is always cooked well, and the specials they have are out of this world. Also...i was terrified of corn beef hash, until I had it at Connie's. It is freshly made, and not from a can, and whatever they do to it, it is delicious. The Only reason i am giving 4 stars is b/c our favorite waitress left, and they havent really replaced her, all the waitresses are great at their job, but it is hurting service times a smidge! I pride myself on giving honest reviews. I tell it like I see it. I go here...like once a month. I take my sons out and they are pretty honest about what we get, and if they like it. I give honest reviews and post what i think needs improvement not to hurt the business, but to hope it helps them improve. What i love...this is easy...the corned beef hash. no, you do not get the crap from the can. Just try it, just one time...please. It is corned beef, pulled from the brisket, and fried with potatoes and onions. order it, try it, it will open your eyes. I love it with 2 eggs and homefries. my oldest son orders just the hash as a side, he loves it, it's all he gets. Why is this important? cause he's not really a meat guy. Trust me, it's the real deal. ok, on to the middle part, they are kinda slow, but ok, no big deal...they keep the coffee coming and are quick to offer ice water. The waitstaff is good, they stop and chat, make jokes, the kinda stuff we want. truth: we always wait longer because they make the hash fresh...but as much as it sucks, the hash is that good. my younger son doesn't eat breakfast food, so this is the only reference for non breakfast food, 6 straight visits, he got the chicken caeser salad, he says it's great. Last time they had his favorite, biscuits and gravy. he loved that too, and wished they had it more often. I mean, really, the only bad is the wait when we go, so we often wait 20 to 30 minutes for breakfast. I expect the wait because the hash is made fresh, but kinda seems long when my youngest is waiting half an hour for a caeser sald. but at 10 bucks for breakfast or lunch...yeah try it, and get the corned beef hash. read more

Great breakfast restaurant! Such a nice, friendly atmosphere, smiling faces and outstanding service. And did I mention the food? Delicious breakfast items, we all shared the omelette, French toast special, home fries, and pancakes, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this hidden Connecticut gem. read more

I want to start off by saying that I always give a place more than 1 chance before I write a review. I had previously gone twice (once for breakfast and once for lunch) just after the new owners took over and most recently in the last week for breakfast. While the food is very good, the service is not so much. We had similar experiences with service all 3 times. The waitresses are the owners or are close relatives of the owner. I think someone previously wrote a review saying that the waitress didn't seem genuine, that she was just going through the motions, that seems pretty accurate from what I've experienced. Also, 2 of the 3 visits other family or close friends have been guests and got all the attention of the waitresses as it is next to impossible to get a drink refilled unless its coffee. I say the food is good and it is! Their homefries are lacking though, pretty bland. Though the food is good, its certainly not worth what they charge, they are rather pricey. I think if the waitresses/owners had more personality and were a little friendlier then this place would be awesome! Would I go back? Yes. I thought I would update my review of this Diner/Luncheonette if you really want me to pigeonhole the type of Kitchen it really is all about. So here we are, some 5 months further down the road from my last review, and I must say I do feel a lot better about things now that I have been back many more times. The "Specials" which are up on a daily basis; for both breakfast and lunch, are pretty good. I did enjoy their Mexican omelette a few weeks ago, and I also liked their French Toast Croissant with fresh strawberries and blueberries. But come on guys, the basics still need some improvement. My first suggestion is to go from small eggs to large yoke eggs and my second would be to find another recipe for the hash-browns, they still need a lot of improvement. Please make your cooks look smarter (as in dressed), instead of street clothes, give them some type of clean uniform or apron, as they can be seen preparing food from the main dining area. I never heard of Connie's went there for 1st time Sunday. Great service, good coffee, eggs Benedict with FF fantastic. French fries were really, really good. My daughter ordered fruit & yogurt parfait, her comment was "look dad, the fruit isn't canned, its fresh". Egg whites & gluten free offerings for mom along with Foxon Park ginger-ale, one of my Fav's. Connie's is now my go to Sunday Breakfast Joint. This place was absolutely terrible. I placed an order for pickup and was told 15 minutes, no problem, however, i arrived 20 minutes later and they hadn't even started to make the order yet! The woman on the phone had a completely negative attitude, was rude and very impatient. After my meal was made (after 25 minutes waiting inside the restaurant) the "waitress" (not sure she's qualified) at the front continued to have an attitude. The food turned out to be comparable to that of a 9th grade cooking students first attempt, left much to be desired. I'd give this place 0.25/10, not worth the time or money. Comfortable if a little cramped. Decent food that includes some seriously good oatmeal. Also, it's one of the few places around in which you can order some turkey bacon. I'll definitely go back. read more

First time at Connie's. Had an omelette, homemade potatoes and cranberry bread, everything was delicious. The staff is helpful and attentive. The food delicious and well priced. The atmosphere is friendly and pleasant. Will go again and have recommended them to others. read more

Just moved to the area and my fiance and I were looking for our new Sunday breakfast spot. Connie's Kitchen is a cute little hole in the wall- very clean, everyone was really friendly. I wasn't feeling particularly adventurous so I went with a western omelette (no cheese) while my fiance went with the chili omelette special. Everything was delicious and you can tell the veggies were chopped fresh (which is a big departure from the old diner we used to frequent!). The waitress visited our table frequently to make sure we were good on coffee and she was polite and friendly. We will certainly visit again! read more

It has been a couple years since I have been here, so I thought I would write an update. The restaurant was clean and very inviting. There were a couple open booths and the place seemed busy. I ordered over medium eggs, whole wheat toast, home fries, and sausage for breakfast. I also had unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The tea had a weird taste to it as soon as I sipped it, almost sour/bitter, but I drank it anyway. I have had their iced tea before and had no problems with it before, so I found this time odd. I found out from the waitress that the ice machine was broken, which was a disappointment, since I barely had any ice. The eggs were perfectly cooked and delicious. On the other hand, the kitchen was a little skimpy on home fries (about 1/4 cup) and they were too spicy from whatever seasoning. I was happy about the grilled onions in the home fries, however, they were under cooked. I liked that the home fries were crispy and cooked through though with the skins still on them. Unfortunately, because of the spiciness of the potatoes, I will not order them again. The whole wheat toast was delicious. It was hearty toast, so the butter did not make it soggy, which was awesome. The sausage was excellent. It was fresh sausage links that had been grilled and they were not salty. The service could use some work.The waitress forgot both orders of home fries on the plates and did not check on us once to see how we were doing. No one ever greeted us. Another waitress walked by with coffee without even asking if our table wanted any more. The bathroom was big and clean. There was plenty of parking in the plaza. I will go back here to try other items on the menu. read more

I have been here several times before the new owners and now with the new owners and I am sorry to say I haven't seen significant improvement. I don't like the fact that the owner in the front of the house eats at the counter while she is working. You can see into the kitchen which I don't like either and it generally seems to be less clean than I expected. The quality of the food is less than desirable. The grilled chicken was awful, dried out and tough. The lettuce was terrible as well. It seemed like it was all the core of the head of lettuce. Almost inedible. I couldn't eat it. The prices are a bit high for the quality of food. I agree with others, this could be a great place. I haven't had breakfast, only lunch but would not recommend and I will not return after this last meal. read more

I have been to Connie's Kitchen numerous times with my family and each time I hope for a better experience. The only reason we continue to go there is because it is very close to home, but today was the last time we will be going there. The food never tastes the same, the home fries either have too much spice or not enough, and the toast was loaded with butter. After ordering and receiving our food, no one came back to the table to ask how things were (which happens every time we go there). The service is just all around poor, no interaction with our table after we received our food. My plate was taken from the table without asking if I was done, or wanted it wrapped. No one asked if we wanted refills on our beverages or if everything was ok. We had asked for another chocolate milk when the food was delivered and when we finally asked for the bill she said she was bringing it over. At that point, no thanks. I am not happy with the service or food from this place and will not be going there again. read more
