Dr. Kim is great. My wife visited Dr. Kim for first time and recommended her to me. I had my first visit with her today. She is really good at what she does and she gave me different options for problems I had with my reading glasses and contact lenses. She is also very cheerful and I had a very pleasant visit. The staff are also friendly and courteous. read more

Dr. Kim is the best. I've been to her office for 2 annual contact lens / glasses eye exams and both have been great experiences. She's kind and takes the time to explain the exam process. Plus it's always nice to leave with a free pair or two of contact lenses - especially if you're like me and you wait until the last minute to order again :) Prior to this, I was going to a "premier" eye care place but felt that the service was not worth the top dollar but Dr. Kim's office offers great value. Costco is already my happy place so I'm glad that I found Dr. Kim's office in such a convenient spot! Some notes to keep in mind: the waiting area isn't very big & I've always had luck with making appointments in advance and being seen promptly at the scheduled time. I will definitely keep coming back to Dr. Kim - the quality of care is worth the drive! read more

I am so impressed with my out of pocket expense for a contact lens prescription/fitting. I am a Kaiser employee with great medical benefits including optical. Why would I come here for my contacts? Before coming here all I've known for the past 20 years is Kaiser optometry. I thought they were sufficient, but when they prescribed me contacts that are no longer manufactured they wanted to charge me $150+ for contact lens fitting since I used my benefit for my glasses. Kaiser's appointments are too booked and I felt they are charging too much just for contact fitting. I am so fortunate to find Dr. Kim because not only did she prescribe my contact lenses, but I got a pair of trial to use for the month. Furthermore, she was so good in explaining every part of the exam that I felt like I know what's going on with my vision. She also detected something potentially abnormal so I will be going to see a specialist just to be safe. Dr. Kim might be the best OD I've ever met. I paid just over $120 for fitting and glasses prescription. She and her staff are profession. Although they were pretty busy, they got me in and out within 30-40 minutes. read more

Dr Kim is extremely efficient and professional and knowledgeable. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes for a full exam including contact lens fitting and testing progressive lenses, as well as asking her a number of other questions. At no point did I feel rushed, she took the time to explain everything to me, and she answer my numerous questions about progressive lenses and progressive contacts. If only Costco had better frame selection! read more

Dr Kim is an excellent doctor. I never felt rushed and she answered all my questions and was very thorough in her exam. She and her staff are very friendly and accommodating with scheduling. read more

Connie Kim, OD - Optometrists Near Me - San Jose, California

Dr. Kim was thorough, corrected a previous erroneous contact lens prescriptions, and offered me many different samples to try. A+++ for service. read more

Dr. Kim is the sweetest most patient optometrist along with Marcela, the receptionist. I got an appointment the same day while having eye pain. Although, I live in Gilroy, I'll be driving to SJ to have my checkups with Dr. Kim. read more

I gave a 4-star rating mainly due to the receptionist being quite rude. I'm unsure if it was a tough morning or related to working on MLK holiday, but her mannerisms and attitude weren't fitting for the first impression of the office. She seemed frustrated when I asked about my prescription and scheduling an appointment. It'd be helpful if the office could remind patients when their prescriptions are expiring, like I've experienced with other doctors' offices. Despite this, I really like the doctor here, and Costco's prices are fantastic! read more

Needed new optometrist after previous one retired. Dr. Kim gave an expert and thorough exam that yielded confidence in my results. She was efficient but didn't rush me. The overall experience was superb, and my prescription is correct, despite having difficulty with some optometrists in the past. She really "got" it. read more

Racist? Made appointments a week in advance for 3 eye exams, arrived on time to appointment. Shortly after, comes in a walk in customer. Connie and her assistant prioritized her. I told the assistant that we had an appointment and and should be honored. Connie intervenes and " agrees" however she was sarcastic about it. Connie then becomes satisfied to see us leave to take our business elsewhere. the walk in was also Asian so I guess they all help each other out. No honor, no integrity, poor business ethics. read more

DISCLAIMER: I did not actually see this provider but had a pleasant experience with the staff nonetheless. I called and received a same day appointment. I was not seen by my own choice, but the staff were very nice about it. read more

Connie Kim, OD - Prices - Optometrists Near Me - San Jose, California

My 7 yr old came to see Dr. Kim due to a minor, accidental eye injury at school. She was nervous since it was her first time being at an optometrist office. Dr. Kim's friendly demeanor made it easy for my daughter to relax and enjoy her first optometry visit. We had our questions answered and was out within 20 minutes. read more

5 stars isn't enough I visited Dr. Connie Kim today after getting glasses based on another OD's prescription which didn't work for me. What a great experience!!! She was extremely professional and knowledgeable, took time to listen to my concerns and answer all my questions. She's also super friendly and has a great sense of humor - bonus points! I can't recommend Dr. Connie Kim highly enough. read more

I forgot my contacts at home while traveling, and Marcela was excellent in assisting me to get a copy of my prescription. I am very impressed and grateful how gracefully and fast it was done. Thank you! read more

She is so nice! I imagine great with kids. I went to her to see if she could give me my first prescription. The process was fast and easy and everything in the office looked nice and clean. Only bad part is that there's not really a good place to put your cart while getting evaluated so I would recommend seeing her before you have things in your cart! read more

Dr. Connie Kim was just awesome. She is super friendly, answered all my questions without rushing, explained everything she was doing, was extremely competent and professional, and overall provided an excellent experience. Her staff was also very professional, competent, and friendly and was able to see me as a walk-in within 30 minutes of my arrival. After i got my prescription, I headed right over to fill them at the optical area and the staff there was also super helpful, prompt, and friendly. The woman who helped me there ("PG") was very helpful in explaining things and helping me pick out frames that looked so much better than the ones I initially picked out :) read more

Ok.... So it's been at least 5 years since my last eye exam, so I don't have a lot of experience here, but I felt compelled to do a review based on my recent visit... FIrst, and foremost, can you say PROFESSIONAL! Dr. Kim greeted me with a warm smile... she is obviously well versed in everything eyes... she is well spoken and patient. I opted to forego the dilation of my eyes, but the exam was very thorough... Dr. Kim took various measurements and really took her time to be sure to get the lenses correct. I've always felt in the past that an eye exam was like a test, and that since my vision isn't perfect that I'd always failed those tests... Dr Kim was very reassuring and supportive and made me feel like i was doing well all along the way! She possesses a Great attitude and gives excellent service... a very refreshing experience compared to my last visit with another optometrist. Highly recommend!! AAA!!!bu read more

She is great ! She takes her time making sure your contact / glasses RX fits great. She explained why a higher RX may take longer to get used to. She doesn't try to sell any products or extra test. She is direct and honest. I appreciate her ethical demeanor , unlike other optometrist who sell unnecessary products just to make a profit. Prior to seeing her , I had an unpleasant experience at 20/20 optometry. Dr. Kim is a fantastic provider and her front desk staff is friendly. It was easy to book and reschedule an appointment. She gave me some trail contacts to try out without any extra fees. She truly cares about customer satisfaction and is very knowledgeable is her field. I will certainly be going back to her. I normally order my contacts from Costco and glasses from Costco or Warby Parker. read more

I just needed an eye exam to get new glasses. I was able to see Dr. McBride who was covering for Dr. Kim today. She did a very thorough examination including testing for glaucoma and a retinal scan for only an additional $29. She then reviewed the images and findings with me (and would have given me a copy if their internet were up). She made recommendations to clean up my eye-drop regimen and gave me some samples as well. Very friendly and professional. I then ordered 3 pair of glasses with my new prescription: progressive/transitional everyday glasses, reading glasses, and some stylish shades with $40 off the last 2 pair, all for less than one pair would cost at a regular optician. read more

The best optometrist in San Jose! Dr.Kim goes beyond her occupation in making her patients feel cared for. Not only is she efficient in her tasks, but extremely thorough and professional. Every minute I am in this office is a warm greet and conversation with her and the receptionist. The office is very neat and clean. Not to mention the reasonable exam prices. I hope she stays around for a while as every visit is a pleasant experience! read more

It was time to find a new Optometrist. I have seen my optometrist for 24 years but her practice is in Walnut Creek and it was to much to drive from South San Jose for the exam and also to pick up the glasses. I did some research online and found that the new San Jose Costco had Dr Kim on board, and she had just a few, but all great reviews. So I decided to try. Her exam was was complete and detailed (Eye preasure, Glaucoma test, Retina check up, included) , she was interested in hearing about my eye history too. She uses very new technology in her office, which is very accurate and fast. My prescription has not changed for a while and she got it right the first time. She took the time to speak with the Optical manager and introduced me, They also did a great job with the glasses. I am very happy with her service, and will be back on a regular basis for my eye check up with her. I would certainly recommend Dr Kim to my family and friends. read more

The optometrist is very friendly and nice. The process is really fast and easy to follow. It was easy and fast for me to book an appointment too. The price is affordable and they gave me two pairs of contact for trial which is very nice of them too. read more

I typically only write a review if something exceptional (good or bad) comes up. Dr. Kim is awesome. From the moment I met her, I felt comfortable. My two sisters and I all booked our appointments back-to-back and all three of us felt the same. Dr. Kim has a personality! She listened and smiled and laughed with me. I sincerely felt like I was valued every moment I was in her office. She explained things in a way that helped me relax and feel like I was making an informed decision about my eyes. This experience in itself was enough to warrant 5 stars. But then a few days later, I get a phone call informing me that due to a mixup with my insurance, I was accidentally overcharged $9 and that the doctor was mailing me a check for the refund. I mean, I wouldn't have noticed but they did and she made it right without a fuss. It's a small thing, that $9. The goodwill and honesty it represents is not. I'm so happy to have discovered Dr. Kim and I highly recommend her to anyone who is searching for a knowledgeable, gentle, personable and honest optometrist. read more

Dr. Kim is the best! Noticed the contact exam sign while I was in this new Costco and scheduled myself for an exam. Dr. Kim was very efficient and patient in explaining everything. After going through several fitting appointments for RGP lenses, she convinced me to try soft lenses because of a problem in one of my eyes. I was apprehensive to change to soft lenses because of my fear of touching my eyes but Dr. Kim calmly and patiently walked me through the process of inserting and removing the soft lenses in her office to feel confident enough to go home with soft lenses. She even went the extra mile to give me several soft lens brands to try with corresponding prescriptions for each. Can't thank her enough for her excellent patient care. I would gladly go back and highly recommend her if you are looking for a great doctor. read more

Best I have seen! Great with kids. I have seen optometrists and ophthalmologists regularly since I was 8 years old. Doctor Kim is the best I have experienced. She has a perfect combination of knowledge, bed-side manner, person-ability, and professionalism. My 8 year old recently began complaining about not being able to see the board at school, so we took he and our 14 year old to Dr. Kim for eye exams. She was able to diagnose my 8 year old's myopia and get his prescription just right. She took the time set up a pair of adjustable trial glasses with the correct prescription for him and had him wear them to walk around the optical area to make sure he felt comfortable with the level of correction and to ensure it did not cause dizziness. She also went beyond simple vision screening by pointing out that she could see signs on my children's cornea that they rub their eye frequently. She patiently explained to them how frequent eye rubbing could be harmful. She acknowledged the role of their seasonal allergies in and around their eyes as contributing to the rubbing and gave practical, solid advice on how to help treat their eyes specifically for allergies and maintain healthy lubricated eyes once their allergies are controlled. She gave great tips on eye drop application for kids and gave them prescriptions for allergy eye drops to be used as needed. She also went over the differences between over the counter allergy eye-drops and the prescription version with instructions on the best way to use OTC if we chose to go that route. Overall her care was both thorough and friendly. read more
