Found this place and I thought it was going to be the one. After a couple of years suddenly I was told that they will no longer accept VSP. That I will have to pay the full amount and they will send the bill to my insurance and they will pay me back. There was no reason on why, just they said that's how they wanted. They cancel my appointment and was told that if I want to continue I know I have to pay up front and of not I can find another optometrist. I wish they could honor the visit and insurance at least one last time, now I'm on the look of some other place. read more

I made an appointment to meet with Yolanda to help me change the new prescription in my new glasses to be better suited for my needs. She was also very kind to switch the temple arms on an older pair of glasses with the ones on my current prescription as they were in much better condition and now my classes fit much better. Dr. Kas, I only have eyes for you. I was suffering from double vision. I thought it was my astigmatism. My wife thought it was exhaustion. My co-workers thought it was age. WebMD thought it was menopause. I've had quite a few eye doctors in San Jose since moving here in 2016, but I thought I'd change it up and pick the doctor with the best ratings. Not the one closest to me. Not the cutest one. Not the where I buy fruit. Dr. Kas had all five star ratings. Why? KAS! One thing is that the staff is awesome, especially Shari. They aren't like Jiffy Lube, coming in trying to upsell things like replacing the air filter fluid, adding scratch-resistant coatings and anti-glare and scotchguarding and resort fees. Also, they're open later than most doctors. And, cookies in the waiting room. I accept all cookies. ALL cookies are strictly necessary. Most importantly, the Doctor was super patient during the "one" or "two" part of the exam, which I take too seriously, like each pair is Sophie's Choice. Finally, he was the first to inform me my eyes are are starting to move toward the center. By the time you meet me at a Yelp event, I'll look like Deebo from Friday. However, my new glasses have prisms that fixed the double vision problem. The only sad part is that my wife no longer has four breasts. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY WHOEVER ANSWERED MY CALL. I called to check if they accept Medical insurance for a relative. The receptionist immediately said "we do not accept medical". I thanked her and kept calling around. I called one office and they let me know they accept Medical if it is connected with VSP. I called KAS back and my call was answered by the same person. I started explaining that I just called regarding Medical insurance and before I could even finish, she cuts me off and says "WE DO NOT ACCEPT MEDICAL." I let her know I wasn't finished explaining before she cut me off and without an apology, she starts trying to schedule me an appointment. I worked for a Lasik surgeon for years. I was just reminded why we never referred patients to this office. read more

I've been going to Dr Kas for almost ten years. I was having an awful time getting fitted for contacts with another doctor when I decided to come to Kas eye Center after my husband had an appointment. Dr Kas found a macular issue on the scan that they do with their yearly eye exams and immediately made me an appointment to see a retinal specialist (thus the reason for my inability to get fitted for contacts). Ended up I was diagnosed with macular tension in regards to my aging. I saw the retinal specialist for approximately seven years until this resolved on its own. I am forever grateful to Dr Kas in helping me to get the care I needed quickly. He has always looked out for my best interest and I trust him greatly. I moved 7 years ago and still drive over an hour to continue to have him as my eye doctor. I highly recommend Dr Kas and his staff for your eye needs. read more
