I'm glad I stopped here on my way down the mountain. The service was very quick and friendly. The restaurant had plenty of seating. I ordered a toasted turkey sub with Swiss. I was very impressed, sometimes in these little mountian towns, you never know what to expect. My sandwich was a good 8", a fresh roll, shredded lettuce (my absolute favorite on sandwiches) and Italian sandwich dressing and I think there was even a little bit of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top do the lettuce as a garnish..maybe? It was delicious! I ate the whole thing and probably should have skipped dinner. Now I know I can come back to this cafe and have a pleasant meal. I think next time I'll order a side of fries, seems like the appropriate thing to do in a cafe like this read more

We just sat at our table for 45 minutes (after ordering) only to be told that our ticket was misplaced and our food would still be another 15-20 minutes. We got zero apology and our server acted as if we were wrong to get up and walk out. I now have a hangry toddler and no lunch to feed her. This place is everything that is wrong with dining out in Conifer. Staff are apathetic and outright hostile when things go wrong. Save yourself the time & money and go elsewhere. read more

Gave this place two chances and was not impressed at all. The bottled water was warm, not even room temperature. The food is mediocre at best. I ordered the bacon and avocado eggs Benedict and they didn't include the bacon and the flavors were lacking...retirement home seasoning. The next time, I tried a sandwich thinking there's no way to mess this up and it again didn't have the right ingredients listed on the menu. Very friendly staff. . . Food was not good at all. Flavor and "texture" were completely off for the waffles and the pancakes. French Toast was okay. Eggs were watery and lacking flavor. Bacon was over powered by the black pepper. Hash browns were edible but again severely lacking in flavor. read more

If you like to come in after a nice hike and wait over 45 minutes for your overpriced, mediocre food, while staring at an empty coffee cup, this is your place. This was even more fun since we had our young son with us. After 45 minutes, our server finally noticed that we hadn't received our food - this will give you an indication of how frequently we received service. As it turns out, they forgot to put in our order, made some lame excuse about "waiting for the cheese to melt" that was clearly belied by the massive numbers of cheese covered dishes being brought to people who arrived after us, and then did not even offer a discount. We waited so long that we were unable to eat at the restaurant. Obviously, they care more about making money than their customers. During our mountain road trip, we stopped here for Breakfast. It was Excellent!!! Between the four of us we shared a Denver Omelet, a Veggie Omelet and Skillet breakfast. Large portions and everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We also shared an order of their Donut Holes. Soooo Goood!! They also give you three different dipping sauces with the order. My granddaughter gobbled them up!!! This was our first time here and I would drive up from Denver again in a heartbeat! Even with the price of gasoline!! Also, service was excellent!! Personable and our coffee and waters were never empty. That is a plus now days. So I give this little spot a thumbs up read more

This place has been fun for years! I think they've changed owners and it's a little different then previously but the food is great! It's the mountain, so expect to have to enjoy your tables company for a few minutes until your food arrives. We stopped here after a hike. Had a Bloody Mary which was pretty average. The donut holes were pretty good. The BEST part of the breakfast is they cook the hashbrowns in bacon grease and they were fantastic!! So flavorful and addicting, definitely better than anywhere else! Everything else was pretty good. Healthy options, fresh fare. Great for vegans and vegetarian options. Yummy healthy comfort foods like homemade soups and sandwiches.

Not a good experience, sat there for 50 minutes, turns out the server forgot to put in our order, and actually forgot about us completely - we had to walk up at one point to get drink refills - and after all that, a grudging 10% off with little apology. Generally the best bacon on the face of the earth. Prices are competitive and portions are generous and waitstaff are friendly and highly professional. Kitchen staff are very professional as well. Generally go at least once a month and have only done breakfast. Have to give lunch a try. read more

So happy to find this place driving to and from denver from the mountains. Literally my family each had their perfect meal - kids and adults alike had everything they wanted. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!! I originally gave this place 3 stars. As it was just average, I felt this was appropriate. I even chose to leave out a few details (like the dirty bathrooms and dangerously slippery floors) so as to not bad-mouth a place I had only been to once. My opinion has now changed. A staff member (I assume manager/owner due to his initials) chose to contact me and berate me for my review. I will upload a screenshot to the photos section. Nice local diner. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Easy to order and delicious food!!! I ordered the pulled pork tacos and they were delightfully tasty! Flour tortilla crisped to perfection and the pico de gallo had just a hint of spice. I would highly recommend trying this place, I'm sure their other meals are just as great! read more

We've eaten there twice and both times our meals were great. The first time we had BLTs. Very good and fantastic fries. The other time we both got breakfast dishes. They were also quite good. I've eaten here several times and each time over the last 6 months it gets worse each time! Extremely slow service and there were 6 servers!! The daily Gossip is more important than the customer! It was just ok, the sausage patties on my "grub plate" tasted like frozen Jimmy Dean patties. The country gravy was pretty bland and tasted like there was too much flour in there to thicken it. They cooked my eggs to my specifications and the hash browns were ok. I also really do think $3.50 is too much to charge for very weak coffee that is not organic, it did not taste very good and was more like tea than coffee. Overall spent almost $20 to be underwhelmed. Also, not really understanding the extra charges besides tax that were included on my bill labeled as "kitchen surcharge" and "PIF" if someone could explain that to me that would be helpful. read more

following up after eating the Takeout Submarine Sandwiches... My girlfriend said (after the first bite) "this is really dry" and she had a tuna salad sub (not normally a dry affair) . I unwrapped mine ( basically an Italian grinder) and it was basically all bread and shredded lettuce - no where near the appropriate level of cheese or meats - and kinda stale bread to boot. My overall comment was also "this is dry" we exchanged sandwiches for a moment and yep we both agreed - we wasted our money... I actually hate Subway, but in this case we spent 50% more for sandwiches that make subway sandwiches look good. This was our first visit, but in general I have an opinion the same as the old fairy tale .... "Fool me once, shame on you, - Fool me twice shame on me !" and based on that philosophy I will NOT be back - no second chances here. So disappointed as Conifer desperately needs decent places to eat!!!! read more
