I shed some tears walking out after finishing what I can only describe as the best burger of my life. Stopped by for some food before driving 5 hours to Ouray from Denver after our 2 hour flight from Dallas, Tx. We got the Off the Record and the Slinger with some Slammer Fries (we were told are basically their regular fries). Both burgers were AMAZING! Fries were straight forward but the chipotle mayo they come with has a great kick. We were the only customers at the time so food came out quickly! It has a very nice interior that gave bar vibes, but also cozy. Wish we could come back, but sadly this will be the only time we get to try these burgers. You have a choice of their beef, chicken or black bean along with several kinds of buns including sesame and pretzel or no bun.. The burgers have names like The Godfather which feature sautéed peppers and onions. Mine was called the slinger and had bacon, onion straws and BBQ sauce. I have been delivering mail for the route that Illegal Burger is on 6 days a week since February. I kept saying I was going to stop in for lunch, today was that day. While in town to do some repairs on my mail jeep I stopped in with my family. I have to say this was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. Went to IB with my siblings for lunch. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger for about $6.50 side of fries $2.69 and a large margarita. The burger was very tasty, not dry and didn't need additional condiments. Fries are super skinny, but we're fries perfectly. Margarita was a little light in the tequila for me and on the sour side, but very refreshing. Lots of parking. Awesome seating area out on the sidewalk with a beautiful view of evergreen trees. We peeked in the front door and the previous nasty person was not there so we went in and received really quite great and friendly service. Burger was decent, fries were hot.
