Fantastic Personalized Experience with a Woman-Owned Business! Highly Recommend! Our family had an unforgettable dive experience with Conch Republic Diving on Christmas Eve afternoon. We booked the dive with only about an hour's notice, and they truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. The team arranged for a private boat just for our group, which included my wife, three sons, my mother-in-law, and myself. We were taken out to two amazing dive sites--Betty's and Davy Crocker--which were absolutely breathtaking. We saw incredible wildlife, including green moray eels, dozens of nurse sharks, and schools of reef fish so big we had to swim through them. The dive sites were gorgeous, and the underwater scenery was just stunning. Our dive guide, Will, was excellent. He did a fantastic job handling our group, which included both my two younger sons who are still new to open water diving, as well as my mother-in-law who is also a beginner. Will made sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and having a great time, adjusting to our varying skill levels with ease. Ashley, the first mate and owner of the company, was super friendly, bubbly, and passionate about what she does. As a woman-owned small business, you can feel the level of care and attention to detail in everything they do. Ashley's dedication to providing a top-tier experience really stood out, and it made the whole trip feel more personal. She made sure to include thoughtful touches that went beyond just the diving. You. Will. Not. Be. Disappointed! I dove with Conch Republic Divers last weekend and it was 5 stars all the way! It's nice when a dive op squares your tanks away and puts them where your group is going to be. Arriving, the shop was fantastic. Had to get my obligatory sticker and shirt while there. Conditions were great heading out. The skipper and the rest of the crew were on it! We dove the Spiegel Grove which is amazing BUT!!! On our ascent, the current was ripping! Likely the craziest I've been in in a while. This was supposed to be a double dip on the Spiegel Grove but like any good skipper, he said, "Calling it! Heading to the Benwood!" Not as cool as the Spiegel but his safety mindset let me know he cared about the customers and not just "the cool spots." Benwood was chill. LOTS of life there and was a fun LONG dive. To add value to the sea of glowing reviews I want to highlight the amenities CRD offers. The boats are so close to the shop you could spit on them from the window. (Please don't do that; they're beautifully maintained.) They have nice bathrooms with clean showers. The rinse bins are large and the cleanest I've seen. You can hang up your gear and store it overnight. There's a large covered area next to the dock with lots of tables. Habanos restaurant is right there and you can place an UberEats order from the boat and have a delicious lunch waiting for you after your dive. Small stuff but makes a big difference if you're a new diver who is still overwhelmed by everything. And the attention to detail reflects their high standards. Ashley and Kyle are extraordinary individuals who have built a great team and seem to treat them well. CRD has an amazing family atmosphere and an impressive lineup of service endeavors. I did my OWD checkout dives with Jake and he's phenomenal. Super knowledgeable and he has a keen ability to meet you where you're at. He'd be a great fit for a variety of personalities and experience levels. On that note I was referred to Jake and the shop by a tec diver with very high standards, and I just learned from another tec diver that he's started sending people to CRD. THE BEST DIVE SHOP IN THE KEYS !!! HANDSDOWN ! I don't even know where to start, I called two weeks in advance; and spoke with Christian. We spent about 20 minutes talking about how they book dives and just dives in gerneral around the area (obviously got to do the USS Spiegel Grove). With his help we were able to book all the dives we wanted to do, on the days we wanted as well. Once we arrived we expected this to just be another dive shop, but We were Wrong! we were welcomed in by no other than Christian,Ashley, Dave, and Jake all with great big smiles. They were so nice along with the rest of the crew who helped us along our wonderful week: Jake, bob,kyle, all the captains and first mates; the list is endless. 10/10 Both boats we rode on were spotless and well maintained. I don't typically write reviews in general partially because I feel like some effort should be put in when it comes to composing a post that could potentially have an impact on a business. I sort of stumbled upon Conch Republic Divers (CRD) when I inquired at a local gear shop regarding getting spearfishing lessons (yes, for SCUBA- I don't think it's realistic to attempt free diving twice a year as I live in the Northeast) and the clerk recommended Kyle at CRD. I immediately called CRD and spoke with Christian, whom I believe is one of the owners (along with Ashley) and he informed me regretfully that Kyle was already booked for the day I had in mind. I asked if they had any other dive trips available and he was able to get me out on an afternoon trip. I proceeded to spend the next three days with CRD (unplanned) and got 12 dives in, to include the wrecks of the USS Spiegel Grove, SS Benwood, and Eagle as well as multiple reefs. CRD is by far the best diving center experience I've had since I've started. CRD's check in office/shop is co-located with the boats and has a changing room and showers, and a covered outdoor area to work on your gear which they will happily store for you on secure racks overnight for your convenience. CRD's boat is perfect: clean, organized, spacious, fast, and padded for dudes like me without sea legs. CRD's crew (Mark, Jake, Gage, Matt, Bailey, and Kyle) are the friendliest, most patient, knowledgeable, and proficient group I've encountered in the dive world, and I was truly a bit sad to say goodbye to them- diving with them feels very personal and you can tell they all genuinely care about each client's safety and providing diving experience. I feel like and hope I made a new group of friends and plan to return with some of my buddies from the military as soon and often as I possibly can. On that note, they are also the only dive center/shop in the Keys that offer a discount for the active military and military veterans. For the non-geographically inclined, don't let the Tavernier address deter you- it's about a 10-minute drive from anywhere in Key Largo. I have no plans to dive with any other dive outfit in the region and can't wait to hopefully make it back in October to learn to spearfish, get some more dives in, and reconnect with the crew. read more

Conch Republic Divers...I'm speechless at the unbelievable customer service we received. Another dive company cancelled on us and Conch Republic took us in with open arms. They made us feel like family. Ashley is so knowledgeable, friendly, and got us set up on our first nitrox dive, which I loved by the way. I also get sea sick and they offered me a pair of dorky glasses but kept me from getting sea sick so I wore them all day. We dove to 110ft and coming up from the last dive we dropped our go pro camera. A week later Ashley called and a rebreather diver went searching for it, found it and they are mailing it back to us. Mark was our guide who was amazing as well. The boat was the nicest and cleanest I've ever been on. They are a top notch group and went above and beyond in all areas. I have not been in the Keys since the cancer death of my good friend Paul Caputo more than 20 years ago. Paul was the diving personality of a shop on Key Largo. My family and I always had it on our bucket list to become certified open water scuba divers. When we decided on a trip to key west the opportunity seemed right and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Conch Republic was the perfect place to learn new skills. We had Adam as our instructor and Charles as our instructor in training. Adam was beyond competent and made us all feel extremely safe. My mom hasn't put her head under water since being a child due to an extreme phobia and Charles has her in the deep end of a pool swimming underwater! When it came to practicing skills in open water, Adam made us all feel safe especially with the mask removal and replace, I got it on the first try! (which was not the case in the pool lol, it was my biggest challenge.) The boat crew for both days were awesome. They explained everything thoroughly and took us to awesome dive spots. There was food, water, showers, and even shampoo ha. They even gave us all the best food and drink recommendations for all the keys for the rest of our trip. The shop employees were all very helpful. Aside from a few minor hiccups with the app itself, they answered all calls and gave us multiple forms of contact to get everything worked out. We saw sharks, sting rays, fighting eels, and thousands of fish in the hundreds of species. It was the experience of a lifetime and I feel safe to go on me next five hopefully very soon. read more

I would love to give this shop 5 stars, however, we got a "bad taste" in our mouth as soon as we walked in the doors. We traveled from Louisiana, to come specifically to this dive shop to complete our exit dive because of all the good things we heard. We were greeted by Taylor, the one working at the desk. Sadly, she was rude from the beginning. Apparently we were missing paper work and she was adamant we could not dive. I was upset no one mentioned it to us before hand, considering two from our party called days before traveling to make sure we had all the proper referral forms, etc. to complete our exit dive. Maybe if Taylor's attitude was sympathetic and she handled the situation differently, we would have not been so bothered. NEVER in my life have I ever felt so degraded! Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Things ended up working out due to the owner stepping in and we were able to complete our exit dive. Such a shame she ruined their name for us because Captain Dean and the deck hand, Jason were absolutely wonderful! They made our dives a pleasant and easy experience. But as long as Taylor is working there, we will not be back. We will make sure to spread the word about her and I will never recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention, Taylor violated terms of HIPAA, by screaming out our prescribed medications with other customers in the lobby.. I just really hope Taylor does not treat all guest this way, because it was truly a horrible experience. read more

I have been diving the Keys since 2000 from Key Largo to Key West. Conch Republic is hands down the best with regard to safety, expertise, and customer service. They are THE choice of professional divers, photographers, environmental researchers and recreational divers wanting an operator which will care for them and provide value. There is no better. It is unfortunate that someone (John W) has written a spiteful comment because they showed up an half hour earlier than they wanted. Poor baby. Maybe scuba diving isn't for them.
