I was genuinely worried that once we got in the water, I wouldn't be able to do it. From the moment we arrived at Sailfish Scuba, we were welcomed like old friends. The boat ride out was enjoyable, and the entire crew--from the dive guides to the captain--was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and reassuring. My companion has more than 50 dives under his belt, so he gave T, the owner, a heads-up that this was my first dive and that I was pretty nervous. T got in the water with me and stayed by my side throughout our descent. When I started to feel that familiar panic setting in, he calmly kept me moving down while continuously checking on me and making sure I was okay. I'm so grateful he did. If I had been left to descend on my own, I honestly think I would have surfaced several times and possibly not completed the dive at all. Having T right there gave me the confidence I needed to push through that initial fear. Once I was down, everything changed. I became much more comfortable, and by the next three dives, I was able to descend completely on my own. My companion, who is an experienced diver, said Sailfish Scuba is one of the best dive companies he has ever been with--and after my experience, I completely understand why. The professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care this crew showed made such a huge difference for me as a new diver. I went from being terrified that I wouldn't be able to do the dive to finishing it feeling excited and confident about getting back in the water. We would absolutely recommend Sailfish Scuba to anyone, especially newer divers who may be feeling nervous or unsure of themselves. We can't wait to come back and dive with them again!

She helped me find a hotel, recommended great restaurants, gave me directions, answered all of my questions, and even helped me find childcare so I could focus on my training. She also personally helped care for my child during part of my three-day course, which meant the world to me. As a parent, that kind of kindness and support is something I'll never forget. Her generosity, compassion, and genuine heart made this experience so much easier and more enjoyable. My instructor, Tarek Salem, was exceptional. He is patient, calm, knowledgeable, and an excellent teacher. He explained every skill thoroughly, made sure I understood everything before each dive, and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. I always felt safe and well taken care of. I also want to thank Elara Moultrie. She was friendly, patient, encouraging, and always focused on everyone's safety. We do want to say that couple of the staff really stood out for excellent customer service - Jo as a dive guide was amazing, as was Savannah on the retail side - but the overall attitude is very much like you are just a number to fill seats. I question the safety standards. We went out in pretty questionable conditions (there was still thunder and lightening when we left the dock), and we witnessed people diving that really had no idea what they were doing, were bouncing around, kicking coral, not at all in control of themselves in the water - and none of this was directly addressed. The customer service in the dive center was pretty terrible - after we purchased over $1000 in equipment at their retail store, we were told we would get a free dive. Cool. So we booked a dive for 3 days later, and when we showed up, we were told that because we booked online instead of calling them, we could not use that free dive. We tried a few times to get this resolved and were just told "well that is our policy." There are so many options for diving in this area, I do not recommend this shop - they do not seem honest or like they really care about the dive experience, just filling seats.

This is the largest dive company over ever been with. They run an operation here! They've got a…read morelarge platoon of boats and people coming in and out from dives all day long. But despite the scale of the business, which I'm normally iffy about big operations like this, we had a great time. Our five master was so fun and energetic and down to earth. She found us some great sea life: nurse shark, sea turtles, lion fish, eel, barracuda, parrot fish, puffer fish and more. Our first dive was the Brentwood. It's the first wreck dive I've ever done and I loved it! There was so much sea life and the bullet holes in the wrech were so neat to sneak a peek into. The second dive was French reef and again so wonderful. We got to go into little caves and arches in the coral. It had been a while since I had to set up my own tank and BCD so I had to ask some questions to remember. They will help you out, but there is some labor on your end unless you ask. Overall a fantastic 2 tank dive in January in 75 degree water. I would definitely dive with rainbow reef again. Especially with how competitive the prices are!

5/5 As a first-time…read moresnorkeler, I was extremely nervous before the trip. However, by the time we reached the dive site, all of my anxiety was gone thanks to the amazing crew. The equipment was clean and in excellent condition, the boats were newer and very well maintained, and the entire facility was spotless. They even have great air conditioning, clean changing rooms, and outdoor showers to rinse off after your trip. They also don't fill their boats to capacity, which makes for a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. They also provided refreshments on board, including chips, water, and soft drinks, which was a nice touch. The crews--Captain Aaron and Ashlynn on our first trip and Captain Brad and Ashlynn on our second--were outstanding. They were funny, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. The snorkeling itself was incredible. One of the highlights was the Christ of the Abyss snorkel, which was absolutely unforgettable. As a Christian, seeing the Christ statue underwater brought me back to where it all began. To think that Christ made everything around you and all the creatures is truly a tribute. We saw colorful tropical fish, a stingray, moray eel, and even sea turtles. Rent the GoPro--you won't regret it. We were amazed at how much wildlife we captured on video that we completely missed while we were in the water. It was such an amazing experience that we booked a second trip before leaving. I honestly have no negatives. If we're ever back in the Keys, Silent World will be our first stop. If hindsight were a thing, I'd probably want to redo my 1st experience of Molasses Reef as a…read moresnorkeling trip.  Unfortunately, I actually went there initiallly via a glass-bottom boat tour, and as a result we saw virtually no fish :-( Maybe it wasn't the boat but the time of day we went - regardless, I expected to see tons of different fish, but I actually saw less than a hundred of maybe three different species... It also might have been the fact that the boat's engines were so loud that they scared off a majority of the fish we might have seen.  Whatever the actual cause, I suggest that you skip the boat tour and come here to snorkel instead.

Keira is a pleasure to book with and work with to plan dive trips and she goes out of her way to make sure everyone has a pleasurable dive experience. Captain Jason is very safety forward and makes sure everyone gets on and off the boat securely. He is also so fun and always a pleasure to be on his boat. The instructors we dove with, KA, Tomos and Sonia were super patient and understanding of our different levels of experience. When we wanted to branch out and try new things like lobstering, they were very accommodating, and everyone was willing to work with us to be successful. I love that unlike at places in Key Largo such as Rainbow reef you can actually lobster and Spearfish with Islamorada, but they actually make sure you do it in a safe and responsible way which I really appreciate.
