    Truffle Linguini
    Isabel J.

I been wanting to check this place out for months and since it was a really cold night we decided to eat local. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but it's nice in the inside. I was happily surprised when the server told us that they had half price on all wine bottles every Wednesday. For starters we went with the prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella. The portion was large and very tasty. The mozzarella was a little too cold for my taste but it got better as it sat on the table. For my entree I had one of the daily specials homemade linguini with truffles in a cream sauce. I added some shrimp. This dish was superb. It reminded me of the amazing pasta dishes I had when I visit Italy. My husband had the salmon and said it was great. I don't eat salmon and didn't taste it myself. We finished our meal with the pana cotta. It was good but nothing to rave about. Our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Overall our meal was excellent. We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to try more of their amazing pasta dishes.

Enjoyed the chicken Milanese (special), fried calamari and pastas were delicious! Very cozy and friendly service.

Arugula and Parmigiano w/cherry tomatoes from main menu, Buffala mozzarella and prosciutto special and yummy bread

Been too long...I love this place! Arugula and cherry tomatoes is amazing with lemon, EVOO and pepper. The buffala mozz with prosciutto both perfect! The bread is just good, but the EVOO on the table is fantastic and with just a bit of salt pepper and the bread...magic. Loved the wine! A montepulciano for $36 that was really great not good...unheqrd of in NyC... For entrees...We had a rigatoni night...four cheese with truffle Rigatoni Sausage and Mushrooms with a pink sauce, which is not some creamy pink sauce like a shitty place pink sauce...amazing!! And I am not normally a pink sauce fan. The ambiance is perfect, somewhat dimly lit, but perfectly lit at the table on the food... Finished off dinner with some homemade arancello (orange) and lemoncello, and well, I'm not a huge, lemoncello guy, my wife loved it, and I thought the arancello was amazing The service was perfect,

I love love love Concettina's Rigatoni with Sausage, Mushrooms & Smoked Mozzarella and Homemade Chocolate Terrine dessert. I've gotten the Rigatoni with Sausage, Mushrooms & Smoked Mozzarella on three different occasions and it never disappoints. It is very tasty and has a hint of smokiness that is delicious. Make sure to ask for additional bread, if you're like me, you will be using the bread to finish the sauce, leaving the plate clean. I really like their Fried Calamari and Fried Zucchini. The batter is very light so it doesn't overpower the calamari or zucchini. It's crisp and delicious. The Homemade Squid Ink Pasta was also very good. It's definitely lighter than the Rigatoni. I enjoyed it just the same. The Homemade Chocolate Terrine dessert was just what we were looking for to finish out our meal. It was like a smooth mousse texture with espresso whipped cream, toasted almonds and shaved chocolate on top. The service at Concettina is great! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I don't really enjoy restaurants that are noisy and boisterous like a loud family dinner. Concettina is definitely not one of those restaurants. Concettina has a quieter feel. And, it's warm and welcoming.

Calamari and Zucchini Fritti for 2pp

Honestly wasn't expecting much when I went on yelp to find the nearest Italian restaurant near me that I didn't try yet. Saw this restaurant with great reviews and decided to give it a try. Upon arriving I noticed that it was a small restaurant sort of hidden in between stores but also didn't think much of it. First thing is note is the phenomenal service by the waitresses and even the host. Secondly is the food is beyond amazing. I went with the special of the day which was squid ink risotto with shrimp and wowwww I could not stop till the bowl was scraped empty. But if this a first date this isn't something you should order considering the color it left in my mouth. This is a def hidden gem and absolutely worth giving a try. The food was delicious and I'm definitely coming back.

    Special: Prosciutto & Bufala Mozzarella

Came here on a rainy Sunday night and want to try this local Italian restaurant. We ordered the special, prosciutto and Bufala mozzarella and the mussels. They were both amazing starters. The prosciutto and cheese was simple and delicious, good meat and good cheese. Classic. The mussels were in a red sauce and again delicious. The mussels were fresh and plump. For entrees, I got the bolognese and my bf got the squid ink pasta. Again can't go wrong with these choices. Both made with fresh pasta the texture was great, the sauces were also good. Nothing to really complain about, just a very homey local restaurant with good food. Great for when you're craving some Italian food close by.

OMG the Calamari and Zucchini Fritti for 2pp

The best Italian I've ever had. On willets point, it's easy to find and parking isn't an issue. it's family owned and the attentive service is unmatched. The apps we're delish, we started with the fried calamari and zucchini. The marinara was amazing. As for the entrees, I went with the snapper and I've never had snapper. It was beyond my expectations, the asparagus was well cooked also. The dessert was my favorite, not only do they secretly have limoncello, they have ORANGECELLO! The first time ive ever heard of that! I got tipsy pretty quick with 2 shots and a glass of wine. Such a lovely family - I'll be coming back!

    Black squid ink risotto

Going to the restaurant for the second time after we had such an amazing dinner the first time we were here, I was very disappointed. It was Christmas Eve and we ordered from the Christmas Eve menu. My brother-in-law, his wife, my husband and I ordered the black squid ink risotto, lobster ravioli, black spaghetti with shrimp, and fried calamari shrimp and bay scallops, respectively. We were all underwhelmed with our dishes and none were flavorful nor memorable (All dishes were also at least $30 a plate). The Mussels Fra Diavolo we ordered as an appetizer was better than all our entrees, but could have been spicier in my opinion. We also had the homemade tiramisu and chocolate terrine, which on the upside, were good. Needless to say, I don't think I'll be back except to order the beef bolognese and salmon Farfalle, which we had the first time we visited the restaurant. Other than those two dishes, I don't think I would try anything new on the menu.

There's a lovely rustic, yet high end vibe. It's also immaculate. Our server was fantastic...just the right balance of friendly, attentive and helpful. It was hard to choose appetizers because I actually wanted one of each. There aren't a lot of Mediterranean choices near where I live currently so my eyes were definitely WAY bigger than my stomach. That said, we shared the halloumi and three different dips served with warm pita. Then we added a last minute choice of grilled sweet sausage for my stepdad. Before we even received our appetizers, they brought a lovely pile of warm pita with delicious sides to accompany: olives, white bean spread, and red pepper hummus (I believe... whatever it was, it was delicious!). The appetizers were outstanding and it was really hard to pick a favorite. Each one of the dips was delightful: taramasalata, hummus, and eggplant. I tasted a bite of the sausage and I understood why my stepdad enjoyed it so much (perfectly cooked and just the right amount of seasoning). The appetizers were new to my mom and she truly enjoyed everything. Her main course was crabcakes and she raved about those as well. I chose the Souvlaki with a side of grilled vegetables and it was exactly what I wanted with perfectly spiced and not overcooked cubes of chicken. The other grilled chicken dish got a huge thumbs up...and that's from a super picky eater. We topped everything off by sharing a large piece of cake that was very decadent....and even though I love chocolate,.... no way I could've finished it by myself. It had an Oreo crust and the rest was a rich chocolate mousse. Next time? Baklava. Looking forward to going back to visit the fam and enjoying Maria's again. Maybe they can open up a location near Saratoga? Just saying...

We started with the traditional Greek salad and combination platter because it wouldn't be summer without these staples. The tomatoes were garden fresh and cold and but the feta stole the show. It was so good I'm sure it came from their pet goat in the yard! The gyro and souvlaki combo platters were perfectly cooked and surprisingly not greasy. The service was still good, and the ambiance is bright and welcoming, which I appreciated. The gyro itself was just okay this time, nothing too memorable. The fries were good definitely needed some salt, but that's just my personal preference. The chicken skewer was solid and probably the highlight of the meal. My biggest issue was the Greek salad. It was mostly cucumbers, and the feta cheese had a really strange flavor. I'm not sure what brand they use, but I've never tasted feta like that before, and not in a good way. It completely threw me off. That experience alone was enough to turn me away. I think I'll stick with the pricier Greek spots that I know are more consistent.

He was feeling like Greek food, and suggested Mythos based off the positive experiences he's had here in the past. This sounded great, so off we went. Mythos is a pretty spacious restaurant - the dining room is very open with tables scattered throughout the space. The chairs are kinda big and I would argue that it was a little cumbersome navigating the tables but overall not too bad. The kitchen is semi-open with a display case separating it from the dining room that looks like it holds food to be prepared. Their menu is pretty extensive without being overwhelming - all of the Greek staples were there. We were started with their house-made bread that came with black-eyed peas and some hummus. This was delicious, so much that we ordered dips as an app to complement the bread more mmm. We also started with the halloumi and a slice of spanakopita. The halloumi had a somewhat unique preparation - I'm used to a single slab that's maybe complemented with a sauce that I would need to slice. Instead, these were pre-sliced and placed on top of pita complemented with tomato and cucumber. This was delicious, all the flavors and textures worked well together. The spanakopita was really tasty - it was a healthy slice that we were able to share and again, super flavorful. For my main, I went with the garides mikrolimano which were shrimp prepared in a red wine-ish sauce, some feta, and served over rice. This was delicious - the sauce had layers of flavor and served as a great vehicle to unite the shrimp and the rice. Service was fine - we were taken care of promptly and food came out at a good pace. It was a little impersonal but I kind of expected that - I wouldn't go into this restaurant thinking you'll be getting an experience when it comes to the service - just straight to the point. Overall though, I thought the food at Mythos was excellent and I had a great experience. I would hesitate to return for another meal.
