Upon walking in the door my sister and I were greeted by the smell of fresh farts and acrylic. There was NO ventilation whatsoever in this place. Everyone was friendly. Picking the colors of my gels was a great experience. LOTS of OPI which is the only gel I use. So now for the barebones of the crap rating... I called in on Wednesday and made an appointment for Friday... I drove 35 minutes across town to have Julia (SP) specifically do my manicure and pedicure. Well when the girl sat down I said, "I have an appointment with Julia." And then Julia chimed in from across the room with "I don't do pedicures. I'll do your nails." Well okay... but the guy who answered the phone did not tell me that when I made the appointment and I specifically said, "I want an appointment with Julia, I need a manicure and a pedicure. Does she have an openings for Friday?" Annoying because the lady who ended up doing my toes must have closed her eyes halfway through and subsequently had a seizure because there was polish all over my skin. And dust particles in the polish.... probably because there were twenty people in there AND NO VENTILATION UPDATE: Got my pedicure done on Friday. Kept asking her to do her job "please fix this, please trim that, please file that straight..." Paid $50 and she might as well have splashed water on my foot and painted it with a strand of her hair. My toes look horrible. I just got back into town, so I will be calling tomorrow to speak with someone about getting them redone by someone who doesn't have an objection to actually providing me with the services I'm paying for. read more

In the beginning I loved this place they looked so clean and professional but I went there exactly 4/5 times I got acrylic set with the ombré fade color and they looked gr8 and felt gr8. Today I went to get my fill as usual I found out that I have two nails that has fungus when I asked them what went wrong the lady told me that I should've had a new acrylic set after two months to keep them clean and fresh plus the other lady named Kim who did my nails last time should've cleaned my cuticle better so it wouldn't leave gaps when she applied the powder so the water won't be able to pass through. I was like seriously! And how is that beneficial to me now I had to take the whole set off and walk with ugly nails with fungus. Also I think they don't clean their equipment very well cuz that never happened to me before. I'm so disappointed I'm never ever going back there again. Best nail experience I have ever had. I got the SNS powder manicure and the #2 significant pedicure. It was so nice! My nail technicians name was Jenny and she took her time and was careful with everything. I sometimes get cut when getting SNS powder but she didn't cut me and took her time making sure everything was perfect. I wish this place was in Tempe so I could come all the time. Great place! I'm sure this place does a great job actually doing the nails, but my friend and I made an appointment a few days in advance for a busy Saturday to get gel manicures. We got there and waited an hour before we left because they were serving people who were walk-ins (after we got there) or people who had later appointments than us and were also getting gel manicures. It just seemed like they didn't care that we had an appointment, and we did make sure to remind them, but it did not influence them in any way. I have worked countless customer service jobs and I'm usually very understanding when it comes to busy days and giving service jobs the benefit of the doubt, but the blatant prioritizing of other people's time was quite rude. We had to leave because we had things scheduled 2 hours after our scheduled appointment, which we would have been unable to make. I'm not sure if we were treated this way because we are in our early 20's, or because it was our first time at this location, but I would not recommend this nail salon in the future. read more

Cons: - Bi Van Cao cut me with the super coarse grit file when filing off my Shellac Gels. - Cut my toe nails too short after I asked to have some left longer. - I called about two hours ahead for an appt and waited 20 minutes to get started. - Place smells much stronger of chemicals, I think they need to work on ventilation. - The nail files and buffers are reused on all, not specific to each individual. I tried this place on a whim about almost a year ago! I have always been happy with my sets! I can come in and get anyone and I know it's gonna be great. I recommend calling ahead at least a day or so if you have an event. They get very busy and wait times can vary! Please be kind and call when they open and get an appointment! If the appointment is later in the day you might still have to wait 15ish mins. But, still 5 stars because I don't want to go anywhere else. I dont like false nails on me, only gel. I finally got my nails to a good legnth. The night before i wanted to get my manicure done. One breaks. So i figured I'd have to get a full set of acrylic. Came in today and got a jelly pedicure...it's a musttt try! A powder is added to warm water and it turns to jell...my eyes are rolling into the back of my head right now sitting here soaking! They are very accommodating and friendly here. I will tell you that they get busy because they really are good at what they do so call ahead and have some extra patience. I was very disappointed with the pedicure I received from this place. The salon itself is beautiful but the service was pretty bad. I even tried talking to the nail technician and I could definitely tell he didn't want to converse with me so I awkwardly went back to my phone. When he did my feet it seemed like he was rushing to get me out of there. My heels aren't smooth there is still nail polish around my toe. It literally looks like he just painted my toes. I'm going to have to go basically do what I paid someone $35 to do, at home. I'm so upset please do not spend your money there. I'm struggling between giving this place 1 or 2 stars. I was only in town for a few days but desperately needed my hands and feet done. The nail techs were polite for the most part. However, the mani & pedi I received were absolutely terrible. The lady that started my manicure proceeded to hasten the process by ripping the SNS from my nails with a fake nail instead of soaking the polish off. She did this to 3 of my nails which are now paper thin and need more time to grow out before I can even think of getting them redone. The polish I chose was a bit see-through so they should've used a coat of white polish on the bottom instead of layering many coats which later slipped and smeared. Also, there's quite a bit of rough skin left on my feet which should have been taken care of during the pedicure. Overall, a waste of money and I wouldn't recommend. read more

However made an appointment at 3:15 didn't get seen until 3:40 and asked for them to do my cuticles first bc it looks cleaner besides them putting acrilic on top of your cuticle and then buzzing it off. He did what he did and I asked if he could push cuticle back bc it didn't look like it normally did, and he started having an addition acting like he knew my nails better then me and told me it can't be done... I'm so glad my friend told me to go to Concept. I'm still a regular at my salon back in Phoenix (so it was hard to cheat on them) but as a student in Tucson, I've been in need of a GOOD nail salon. First, Concept has more color choices than I've ever seen. The tubs are very sanitary as they use the removable plastic liners every time. I had Linn for my pedi/gel mani and she gave a great hands and feet massage. Great price too without sacrificing quality. $48 for my pedi/gel mani combo.
