First time ever being in a vineyard in the Livermore area and I truly didn't know what to expect. This area was absolutely beautiful and gorgeous. I really enjoyed my experience here! We got the wine flight and their cheese box. The wine flight came in little test tubes that you could pour into a wine cup (and you got to keep the cup too)! Vibe was great and wine was even better! My wife and I took my brother and his wife to this vineyard for their first wine tasting experience . They were visiting us from Miami, FL. The place is easy to find, nice scenery and decent wines. The attention was terrible. The lady who served us was clearly under the influence of something, by her speech and careless attention to detail. While other servers were spending more time explaining in detail the wines and processes to other guests, our server gave is a one minute explanation and served way too little of each wine, besides serving in the same glass all wines. I don't think we are coming back neither recommend this place. We had much better experience at Las Positas and Wente. read more

I love their wines and recently became a member of Concannon. I have visited a few times now and loved it so much the first time that I got a membership here! Unfortunately, The last two times I visited with friends, for a tasting some of the staff was very rude. I don't know if they try to play good cop/ bad cop towards the end of the day but it really killed our mood and now I'm on the fence about keeping the membership. My husband and I took my cousins who were visiting town out for wine tasting at Concannon and we all had a fabulous time! I made a tasting reservation online for 4 people about a week in advance and got a pretty good time slot in the afternoon. We arrived a few minutes early and luckily were taken in early too! We were seated on the patio outside under a fan and loved the seating arrangement - a cushion loveseat for 2 and 2 cushioned chairs, as well. It was a very relaxing setup for our duration here. I don't remember our hosts name, but she was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and kind and was pretty punctual on bringing out any items we ordered. The wine tasting itself was great, $20 per person for about 5 tastings each. We also ordered charcuterie and a couple other snacks to share while tasting. We bought a couple bottles to go and overall the cost of the visit was very reasonable! The weather was great and the grounds were well kept. The winery was hosting a wedding that evening, so there were quite a few people arriving to set up the event, but they were all very considerate on their noise volume and cleanup. All in all, we had a lot of fun visiting Concannon and can't wait to do it again soon. This is a great winery to visit on a date and also with a group of close family or friends! read more

Wonderful winery and atmosphere! I had the opportunity to meet with the owner and his family on our visit a few weekends ago. We heard about his multiple combat deployments as a Blackhawk Pilot in addition to his involvement and lifelong affiliation with small businesses in the Livermore/Bay Area. Tom connected the military history of Concannon to his interest in the property and his desire to "give back" to the community by providing meeting space and event locations free of charge to the first responders community. We came for the wine but stayed for the stories. We will definitely be back again! read more

My boyfriend and I made a reservation for 2 for the lawn picnic area as part of a day of wine tasting in Livermore we had planned. I knew that the patio option was booked at the time, so I opted for the picnic option, but didn't realize how strict they were on where you had to sit in order to do a wine tasting. When we arrived, I requested that we be able to do a wine tasting that day and they immediately emphasized that you could only buy glasses or bottles in the picnic area. I suggested we sit in the patio then and they immediately said that they were "booked out" and that they were so busy. As a yelp elite member, I understand the difficulties that restaurants and wineries face, so I politely said that is fine and we were seated on the lawn area. We ordered a bottle of wine to split and purchased some cheese and meats from the fridge area. During our 90 minute reservation, we noticed not 1, 2, 3, but several open tables in the patio area that was supposedly "booked out." This was extremely disappointing to see - it really didn't make sense what the point of lying about availability was. We also noticed that the service in the regular patio area was superior to what we were receiving. Nonetheless, the wine was very good and we ended up purchasing a bottle to go. However, the sommelier handed us a 2018 bottle instead of a 2017 bottle which was what we purchased. Luckily I was able to catch the mistake before we left. Overall, we had an okay experience and I would be open to revisiting to see if this was a one- off experience. read more

Wine tasting on a beautiful Thursday afternoon? Wine-not?!? Cousin from NY was visiting with her 2 teenage boys for a week and why not take them on a tour in the Livermore Valley for some gorgeous Cali scenery and delicious wine. Tasting room hours by reservation Thursday-Monday 11:30am-4:00pm. They do take walk-in guests as availability permits. We chose to make reservations online and requested Thursday at 11:30am for the Seated Tasting on Pavilion option. $25pp for a 90 minute tasting of 6 featured wines. Super easy to request a reservation. We chose a Thursday specifically because the vineyard allows children to join only on specific days. Upon arrival, Ashley who was so warm and welcoming greeted us with our first glass of wine- 2019 Assemblage Blanc. Delicious & refreshing since it was a fairly hot day!!! After snapping a few pictures, Ashley walked our party of 7 over to the Pavilion and got us all settled in at our table. Since we had 4 children ranging in age (18yrs, 16yrs, 11yrs & 5yrs) she offered not only the children water but the wine- tasting adults some too. Then a few short minutes later she returned with our wine to start tasting. The 6 wines were beautifully placed on a rack with a description of each wine. Ashley was so informative and very friendly that we enjoyed getting to know her and was an easy person to talk to. We pretty much had the vineyard and Pavilion to ourselves so we didn't feel rushed to leave. After our tasting was about to wrap up, Ashley sent over another wine to taste P.S. 16 ( I believe it was a Petite Sirah). All in all, we tasted 8 wines. Just the perfect amount of wines to taste! Concannon Vineyard is a must visit when in the Livermore Valley especially when you have guests from out of town who enjoy a beautiful scenery and fantastic wine and who also welcome children. A family member recommended Concannon Vineyard, so some relatives and I reserved a day for a wine tasting. When we arrived, the kind staff greeted us, checked us in, and poured our first glass right away before we were seated. Once seated, our wine specialist welcomed us warmly and proceeded to bring around the rest of our tastings for the afternoon. She provided clear descriptions of each wine and was very generous with her pours. Her attentiveness and friendliness ensured we were well taken care of throughout our visit. Tried a flight here as part of the wine trolly. I arrived late but tried 2 of the wines, both were good but the snack pack was lacking. The berries in the pack were incredible and tasted locally grown. The tasting occurred in the barrel room which was such a site to see and Nick the host was amazing at explaining some of the history of the barrels as well as the vineyard itself. read more

We reserved a "Tasting Experience" for an allotted time of 3 hours for a smaller party of 9 at their private outdoor venue for $50 per person under the grape arbors for my mother's Birthday celebration. The package came with one bottle of wine for every 4 persons, and a charcuterie for every 2 persons. Our wine flights were $15 each. The setting was marvelous, and not crowded in any way. All of the different areas were spaced out which I truly appreciated. There is a gorgeous but quaint boutique that offers trinkets and beautiful locally crafted jewelry at reasonable prices. I felt inspired with the gorgeous views that Concanon provided with our stay; the ongoing vineyard in one direction, their open spaced lawn area onlooking the whimsical designed animal topiaries, and the Ellen Rowe Victorian shell of a house, made it very memorable. Although I didn't care for the drab table cloth and uncomfortable plastic lawn chairs we were given for our dining experience, we were allowed to bring our own décor to tailor the area to our liking. Prior to check-in, we asked if they could provide us with a clean dog dish, as they are very dog-friendly, which they had agreed to do, but we didn't receive it as we sat down at our banquet table. I asked our server if she could arrange us with a dog bowl for my poodle to eat out of, but when I received it, it was dirty and muddy, as if purchased years ago & never cleaned; there was an annoying gloopy sticker still on it too. -------------------------------------------------------- We were each given 6 wine flutes on their reserve tier: 2018 Reserve Semillon -- Tropical Fruit 2019 Reserve Viognier -- Apple, Pear, Pineapple, Lemon Zest 2017 Russian River Chardonnay -- Nutmeg, Caramel, Butterscotch 2017 Reserve Pinot Noir -- Strawberry, Raspberry 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon -- Blueberry, Boysenberry, Vanilla 2017 Reserve Captain Joe's Petite Sirah -- Blackberry, Penner, Mocha We ordered two whites, and two reds to share, the petite sirah, cabernet sauvignon, the viognier and the semillion. Out of the white wines, I really loved their 2019 reserve Viognier; it was full bodied, and had a succulent apple peachy perfume aroma to it which I truly enjoyed. For the reds, I would recommend their elegantly inky purple 2017 Reserve Captain Joe's Petite Sirah; which were aged in oak barrels in the Bordeaux style to capture a delicious blend of mocha and blackberry. The chocolate pairings (it had 4 little pieces of chocolate balls) and 4 charcuterie dishes were included with our reservation. We were informed that the charcuterie dishes served two, but portions were outrageously small (6 grapes, 6 blueberries, 4 green olives with no pit, 2 prosciuttos wrapped around gorgonzola, a few slices of your run-of-the-mill cheeses, dried persimmons, and scattered raisins). **But we were also allowed to bring outside food** -------------------------------------------------------- This place was very dog-friendly, I would definitely come here again for a tasting. read more

And just stared at us, didn't want to see us at all until they looked at my wife's account and seeing that she is a member and buys a ton of stuff . Amazing customer service! I am a Member and visited the winery with my family on January 6th 2024, my brother bought a wine bottle accessory and unfortunately we forgot it when leaving the premises. As soon as we realized I sent an email to the staff asking if they have found it, and they kindly said that they were going to set a side a new accessory for me to pick it up instead of my lost one. Came here the day after Valentine's day for a Galentine's outing. We originally wanted to do tastings, but could not resist the outdoor patio seating and decided to purchase a bottle at the inside counter to enjoy outside. Arlo helped us pick out a wine, and he was absolutely fantastic and sweet. He provided us with some chocolate wafers to pair with the 2016 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, which really sealed the deal for us. After making the purchase, he provided us with the outdoor wine glasses, and we were on our way. Outside patio and lawn area is expansive with well-maintained foliage. Lawn was green and thriving, much appreciated since Livermore is usually yellow and dry. I do wish there were more shaded areas though, but my friends and I were lucky enough to snag one of the tables under a patch of shade. Water is available at the bar. Dog and kid-friendly. Difficult to get an "Instagram-worthy" picture here since there's no iconic picture spot, and Concannon is very busy; there will probably be someone (maybe a toddler running by) in your picture. read more

I've been going to Concannon Vineyard for the past 10 years, in fact it was the first Livermore winery I ever visited. Unfortunately, yesterday was my last and final visit. I booked a Terrace tasting for 4 adults, a tasting I have done many times there, including 3 weeks ago. Yesterday however I brought along my 5 year old son and was told upon check-in "Sorry, no kids allowed". Which surprised me because I've been to Concannon in the past and there were kids everywhere - seated at tables, playing in the grass, etc. - it was a family place. Apparently 2 years ago they decided that kids are not allowed on weekends, which they mentioned was stated in the fine print of my reservation confirmation email - which is true - but who reads the fine print of those? Certainly not I, I've done hundreds of tastings all over California and have never seen this kind of policy. Nonetheless, I should have caught it and didn't, and that's on me. I booked several other tastings that day and none of those confirmation emails had a such a clause. Thankfully, after being coldly rejected by Concannon we went to Page Mill Winery right down the street and they seated us immediately. And Wente after that. In fact, when we were paying the bill at Wente our sommelier commented on how well behaved our son was. Yeah no kidding, we're responsible parents with good manners and raised our son right, he is a fine little gentleman. In closing, I am disappointed and extremely frustrated by the "no kids" weekend policy and will not be visiting Concannon again. I will go to all the other Livermore wineries who don't have this ridiculous policy. Or Napa. Or Sonoma. Basically everywhere but Concannon. I've been visiting wineries for decades and these days I like to bring my son, and that's exactly what I'm going to keep doing. Concannon used to be a family place, but no longer. Out of respect, I'm still giving them 3 stars for all the good times I had there prior to my recent visit, but they will never see me again. read more

What a disappointment...the grounds and ambiance are 5 star, the wine is 3 stars, and sadly, the service is 1 star. We try a new winery every weekend or two and must say, even tho the wine was just ok, we would have happily purchased at least a bottle of two if we had enjoyed the experience. We chose the outdoor lawn area to celebrate my husband's birthday and she was so rude that she didn't even give us enough disposable cutlery and plates for the cheese and chocolates we had purchased from the vending machine. She was with an unnecessary attitude and it felt like we were bothering her for no reason. She didn't even care to explain the wines and made no sense of whatever sarcastic comments she made. The flight is cute because it's served in a test tube and you can go at your own pace. The charcuterie box you can get as an add on and was pretty good/filling. My first Livermore winery experience. It definitely made me regret spending all that time and money solely on napa. The service and ambiance here was much more welcoming. Our server llycl? was so attentive and friendly. I've come to believe this is a rarity amongst pretentious wineries. We bought two bottles but didn't feel at all obligated to. The outdoors and rooms were all beautiful. People could dress up or dress down and feel comfortable. Personally, I love a photo op in a sundress and this place met that criteria. Note: bring snacks. Always. There are plenty of tables and chairs outside, but they don't let you set up a mat on the grass, which was so tempting. They also have an appealing array of food for sale. But there's something about a winery that lets you bring your wide array of Costco snacks to eat which makes me feel so at home. Tip #2: get a bottle to drink at the winery. The rose was a lovely choice. Don't get a glass. The price is highly marked up. $18 for a glass I think? Overall, this was one of our favorite wineries in California. 09/25/2021 We love this winery but the customer service has gone down hill. Our host Jamie T was very short with me and my partner to the point I wanted to cancel my membership. We have been a member of the Club 1883 for three years now and during 2020 we would visit the winery to pickup wine on a monthly basis and have always been greeted nicely. We have spoken to other friends that are members and also found out they have experienced a similar experience. It is very disappointing writing this but if this happens again we will request our wine to be shipped or cancel the membership altogether. It's been two year too long since we've been back to Livermore vineyards due to Covid 19, and was a bit hesitant on coming back for a mini escape but when I called in for information about the reservation, seating arrangements & to bring in our dogs, the Concannon staff were overly reassuring and delightful on the phone. We arrived and was offered a table or lounge seating so of course we went for the comfy couch and cushioned chairs. We were served with a flight of 5 selected reserve wine in glass test tube for Covid-friendly. Aside from the wine not containing it's temperature for white wines, I personally liked how we can pour & drink the wine at our own personal pace. I ended up joining their wine club that day. It would be nice if they would allow you to bring in a picnic lunch to enjoy while tasting, but no outside food allowed.
