This review is only for customer service: I called this place for a broken laptop and explained the damage, and the man who answered the phone knew exactly what I was talking about and described the damage. He could have pulled me in and charged me $300-plus, but he did not do that. Instead, he said we'd be better off buying a similar laptop for less than $200 more than that. I think this deserves recognition, when a business does not just want to take your money but gives you advice. Like all of the prior reviews have stated, John's service was nothing short of outstanding. I had a very outdated Dell desktop that imploded on me on 10/14/25. I called John (based on these Yelp reviews), he showed up at my home that evening, and after some work he informed me that my PC was shot (and explained to me why) but that he could likely salvage my hard drive files. Took the PC home with him, we spoke/texted at various times the next day, and the following day he informed me that all of my files were now secured onto a portable hard drives, after which he gave me recommendations for a new PC, which I subsequently purchased online and had it delivered directly to his office, after which he programmed it up (including reinstalling a very old version of QBPro that I still use), and was at my house the very next day with the new PC ready to go. Hands down-John absolutely saved the day. My Dell laptop crashed out of the blue and it's at those moments when you realize just how many photos and important files you have squirreled away on your heretofore 'trustworthy' device. A hard drive crash leaves you with a sick pit in your stomach at the realization that all of those pictures and files may be lost forever. I contacted John at 7:45 P.M. and, had the laptop in his hand by 8:20 the same evening. Over the course of the next 3-4 days, John worked tirelessly on retrieving close to 98% of the data on the device. I truly feel that others would have abandoned the effort after the entire process was both extremely tedious and time consuming (not to mention the entire prognosis looked 99% grim for any data recovery for 90% of the time via constant updates). Miraculously, the last 12-15 hours, John was able to find and extract the vast majority of the files and, 24 hours later, I had my laptop ( with a 1 TB hard drive upgrade installed) for a few hundred dollars Far less than sending the hard drive t a "lab" or, purchasing anew laptop). Currently in the process of saving everything retrieved via Cloud and an external hard drive. john's advice-'two places for data-computer and, an external drive" Every cent was well spent! read more

I would like to take the time to explain my story and how incredible John is. I am away for work and my wife calls me. Computer was doing a Windows update and crashed we spent two days over the phone trying to figure out. Went to John for a laptop issue on 5/9/14. He was friendly and straightforward. I told him of my problem, and simply stated he would notify me of the price once he finds out the problem. Dropped off my laptop and he notified me very shortly that there was nothing wrong with the laptop other then it needing a new battery and charger. *He could have easily made up some BS saying something else was wrong with the laptop* Shows he has integrity and cares for his clients. After reading good reviews on Yelp I called Computer Repairs Long Island for an issue with my Macbook. It was making a "whirring" sound after it was on for a while. Being 7 years old I wasn't sure if it was worth fixing if it was major. John told me it could be the hard drive (and quoted fair price) or the fan was dirty. He picked it up that same evening and called a couple days later that he only needed to clean out the fans. He did not charge me. I am very impressed with his honesty.
