Sometimes their diagnosis and the news has been good (curable) and other times, not so good (RIP). My MacBook air was giving me some problems, making weird noises and not performing like it had been in recent months. I took it into the Computer Doctors and the employee was rude and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by bringing in my business. They couldn't figure out what was wrong so I just bit the bullet and took it to the Apple Store. I'm not sure what exactly they said was wrong internally but I know it was a specific part. I brought my laptop in to Computer Doctors because they had a very tempting offer - to diagnose my computer at no cost. Great. What have I got to lose, right? They seemed very helpful and friendly and told me that they could fix my computer for $100. That it was a simple problem. OR I could try to go back to the manufacturer since they warranty had just expired, but warned that I could be on the phone for hours with the manufacturer. I decided that I might as well try to talk the manufacturer. After I picked up my computer and brought it home, I tried to log in only to find that the password had changed for my computer. I couldn't log on to the user account! I called back and their response was that my computer was infected with a virus that changed the password, but they could fix it for $100. Interesting, they had my computer (complete with anti-viral software) for 48 hours and it was mysteriously infected with a virus, which they didn't mention until after I got the computer home and called them. Sounds a little suspicious. I didn't go back. I won't go back. I cannot recommend their services to anyone. Not even to diagnose your computer. I sent my computer to someone else. And there in case you were wondering, there wasn't a virus. read more

My laptop was having issues booting up so I took it here to get it repaired. The issue was a little complex so it took some time to figure out, but Victor stayed up past 3 a.m. to get the job done and to ensure that my laptop was ready for pickup the next morning. When I went in to pick up my laptop, I could tell Victor was tired, having stayed up late doing repairs, but this just shows the dedication of these guys. My laptop runs fine now and the dust was even cleared out from the back vent and on my screen. Hi everybody! It's your business critic Guy, back once again to give you an update on the repair work that was performed on my laptop at Computer Doctors near the Westlake area of our fabulous city here in Los Angeles. I recievied 2 phone calls yesturday letting me know that my laptop was repaired and ready for pick up. So today which is still Thursday at 08:12pm, I called them to inform them that I would be there within the hour to pick it up. I was told the cost was $95. Well, I lounged around in my bedroom until I finally got the lead out of my rear and started to get ready so I could leave the confinement of my room, to get the heck out of my condo and greet the world and the day amoungst the living. I was out at around 2pm and arrived at their business by 02:30pm. I was looking forward to seeing the helpfull staff, little Ringo their dog, and my repaired laptop. When I entered the front office Ringo began to bark as he was walking towards me. When I said hi to Ringo, he recognized my voice and came right to me wagging his tail. I picked him up and held him in my arms as he sat on my lap, and started to rub his smooth belly which he was totally loving it. As I put him down on the floor, he wanted more attention. Victor was there and I didn't want him to wait much longer to go over what was performed on my laptop with me. When it was opened it was clean and ready for use once again. We went to a table and of course Ringo wanted to be there so that he could get more lovin from me. Victor was very helpfull in explaining how these viruses get trapped on my laptop and showed me how I could tell what is legit and what is a scam to get a virus in my system. The laptop was faster and I was able to get the Internet once again. I was very satisfied and more knowledgeable on how to keep it safe. After we were finished it was time to pay. To my surprise it was not $95 it was dropped down to $75 instead. That really made me happy and "made my day"!!! I thanked Victor and his crew for a job well done, and said good bye to Ringo. I didn't want to leave him out. Since I have become a regular customer to the staff, Ringo, and their business, we are no longer just a business / customer relationship. We have become good friends and if ever I need help again with my laptop, all I need to do is go back and they will take care of my laptop and me. Including Ringo. My laptop works like it is new. I built my computer several years ago, and have slowly been doing a repair and replace over the last year. The problems kept continuing, to the point where I really wasn't sure what else I could try without having a second set of all parts to swap out and invest a ton of time doing the repair. I took my pc to Computer Doctors, and Ludin (?) was the guy I worked with. They held my computer for a day or so for a free diagnosis, testing all the parts with their own Linux based software. Everything checked out and he decided it might simply be a dust-caked overheating issue. So i took the computer back, cleaned everything up, stuck a bigass fan on it and did my usual. The problems still recurred, with new problems emerging. So I brought the pc back to Ludin again, they held it for a day, then decided I had a bunch of viruses that they would charge $95 to remove and ensure that everything was good. I decided that I might as well take a shot at it myself and ended up doing a full format and reinstall. No problems so far! So the good thing is the folks at Computer Doctors are very friendly, no pressure, and no bullshit. They don't assume anything, and will diagnose for free. I know Ludin spent a good amount of time testing all my stuff, and although they did not get anything out of me this time, they have earned my business, and I will go to them in the future for any computer issues or builds. read more

I had the dreaded Blue Screen Of Death on my Laptop running Windows 7 and found the computer doctors on Yelp. They had 5 stars so naturally, after reading some reviews, I decided to give them a try. Very glad I did. The Computer Doctors are the best computer repair company that I have ever used. You really get the feeling that they are listening to you and want to solve your computer's problem in the best way possible. Like a real Doctor should with their patient. With so many other computer repair companies, you tend to get the feeling that they are just going through the steps but with computer doctors it just feels like they really care. Plus, the prices can't be beat. It turned out that I needed a new hard drive for my laptop and since I had to get a new hard drive about a year ago for this computer I know how much they cost. These guys were able to get one from their supplier for almost half of what I paid last time. With a good price on the labor/diagnostics, I wound up paying as much as I did last time for the hard drive alone. The best part of this experience is that they cloned my hard drive and the computer is working exactly as it was before I brought it in. No data loss, and it's running faster than ever. I am so in love with these guys, I can't tell you. My business computer crashed (they had told me I needed to fix a corrupt hard drive but of course I couldn't part with it so I didn't do it). And sure enough it crashed. Their normal policy is 48hrs to repair but they stayed until 1am! to fix it because they knew how vital it was to our business. I will never go any where but here. I went to Computer Doctors because my computer was not charging. I assumed they'd have to open it up and replace the motherboard, but they calmly explained it was probably a problem in the BIOS or a problem with the charger itself. Within 24 hours, they had updated my bios, gotten a compatible charger, and cleaned the screen and fans at no extra charge. And it was only 65 dollars. Great service for a great price. I'll definitely go back if I have computer trouble in the future. read more

This is my first internet review ever. I do not participate in these things, but Victor and staff at Computer Doctors so exceeded my expectations, I'm compelled to sing their praises. The motherboard in my wife's laptop took a dump. The estimate came in at $400, which is fair. However, when I indicated that due to the age of the laptop, I thought we'd be better off buying new, instead of pressing for the higher priced repair, Victor agreed and recommended a $95 data retrieval (back up frequently is the lesson learned), and waived a rush surcharge when I requested he do the work immediately. And to top it off, Victor spent ten minutes giving me, from a repair technician's POV, recommendations for a new laptop - a gesture that would certainly cost him business in future repairs. All that alone deserves a positive review, but wait - there's more. Two days later, my wife discovered that there was one misplaced file WE neglected to instruct Computer Doctors retrieve. No problem - they grabbed the file, again with a rush service - all at no extra charge! This guy gets it. I wish there were ten stars. The shift key fell off my laptop (Well, ok, I pulled it off to investigate why it was suddently sticky and gummy). It was surprisingly difficult to put back on (even when i used scotch tape!). All I could find were Mac stores who couldn't help me, until I went to Computer Doctors which was thankfully open on a Saturday and they fixed it in 10 minutes. I thought the $20 price was a little steep, but it at least taught me not to pull keys off my laptop to investigate the gooey stuff underneath. read more

I gave them TWO laptops to fix and they went above and beyond on both opportunities. Each member of the staff were 100% patient and polite - even when I was at my most panicked and desperate.
