Let's review: * Immediately refunded my deposit * Continued investigation and found they DID get it ordered * Did not demand a new deposit * Continued tracking the package, even though it seemed to be lost - well beyond the expected Tuesday-Wednesday timeframe. * It arrived while I was at work, really didn't have time to fix it. But he called me up to let me know and we worked out a time - he personally promised to set that time aside for me. I showed up, he confirmed it was the right screen, we went through some tests - it was glitchy - then he rebooted and it seems to have unglitched. As I now touch my screen to confirm, Device Surgeon got it done. They fought the mail, they put the customer first, and navigated a tricky situation successfully. Last week I went to the Genius Bar, at the short hills Apple store and while i do acknowledge that they are very knowledgable - they were unable to repair my Macbook Pro, saying that it was "too old". Having called upon Charlie in the past, I drove straight there and left the laptop with them for a "diagnostic workup". The advantage of using Best Bet is that they deal with BOTH windows AND apple operating systems (in my household we have several PC's and several Macs) and, for me anyway, its VERY REASSURING that my tech guy is intimately familiar with both! Surprisingly, they were able to repair my laptop (that Apple said couldnt be repaired) for $100...I was GREATLY RELIEVED Ive had them come to my house for Desktop computer help and I've also driven there myself for laptop help I find it comforting dealing with a small'ish operation (where they actually know who I am when i walk in or call) as opposed to a huge corporation where I have to first "make an appointment to speak with them", and if i'm "lucky" they'll give me an appointment in 4 or 5 days. The entire fix took 2 days, but I just dropped it off on a Friday and picked it up on Monday after a weekend out of town. The quote stayed the same, and the work was fantastic. I brought the TV in wrapped in bubble plastic, and they kept it in the shop so I could use it when I left. I guess they could have wrapped it for me, but they wanted to turn it on for me and show me it worked, so no complaints there. The shop itself is a small storefront with a lot of Panasonic TVs resting all over the place in no particular order. Looks kinda worn down, but these guys are a repair shop, not a retail store designed to entice sales. I appreciate their help, honesty and handy work. Can't go wrong here.

Unfortunately, the TV stopped working after the warranty expired so I had to either get it repaired or buy a new one. I decided to go to ONEGA Inc since it was the closest TV Repair shop to my residence. I drove to ONEGA to drop off my TV without calling ahead. I was welcomed inside and for the convenience of the customer they have a stand, power cable and coaxial cable ready to immediately inspect your TV. They could not identify the problem on the spot. I was told there would be a $50 diagnostic fee regardless if I wanted them to repair it or not. If I did decide to have the TV repaired, the $50 would become a credit to my total bill. ONEGA called the following day to let me know what was wrong with my TV. I was told the video power supply was burned out and a replacement would be $145. After three days I received another call letting me know my TV was repaired and could be picked up. I was charged $90 for labor which over 4 days seemed fair. I was disappointed that there is only a 60 day warranty on the new part. When I returned home I Googled the replacement part and it was indeed $145. I was very satisfied with the whole experience. If I have another TV issue or if a friend asks me for a referral, I will point them in ONEGA's direction.

He offered a " free" diagnostic and told me he would clean up the machine and make it faster for $100. I got it home, and since I rarely use the machine I activated it seversl months later. The same blue screen errors appeared, it went to DOS and crashed just as it had when i first brought it in, and I called Brian Skaff who told me to bring it in again. I did; left it there a few days and he again insisted NOTHING happened when they tested it. He said the laptop was fine. At this point I began to question what I had spent $100 for. My question to him when I got it home and AGAIN I got check sum errors and blue screen was what exactly did I pay for? This is a laptop 7 years old rarely used. I would have appreciated during the "free" diagnostic an honest appraisal, that the machine was beyond repair, instead I was charged $100 for I don't know what. I explained I was an ipad user, and asked him what he did for the $100. Brian became agitated with me, blamed me since when in his possesion "there was nothing wrong" ultimately I took pictures of the blue screens and emailed them. At this point he concluded it may be a hard drive problem( as I had originally suspected) and quoted me a price of 289 roughly to fix. Am I a fool? $289 plus the 100 already spent buys an new laptop. This man is defensive, corrupt, and takes advantage of someone like me who is financially strapped and not computer savvy. I repeatedly advised him as an ipad user I would be using the laptop rarely and that I was likely to bring it home store it and not use it for months, but when and if I needed it I expected it to work. Avoid at all costs. I still don't know why the 100 was charged for a clearly fried laptop and when. I try to pin him to what was done he elevates his voice and blames it on me. The honest thing to do was advise me the laptop was betond repair. How dare he charge me $100 for nothing? My mistake is I trusting this business.

He penned me in right away today for a visit by his technician and when Ricardo arrived, he was polite, professional and thorough in his diagnostic exam of the TV. He interfaced by email and other communications directly to LG , and received a phone call shortly after from them and they spoke at a high tech level about the problem. Ricardo then quoted us different prices for several solution paths. We are most pleased with Day One Services. My wife and I are confident that we will make an informed decision based on their outstanding customer service and advice we requested during the visit.
