    Compass order.
    Tay W.

This was my first time visiting Compass Coffee since moving to Arlington. I had to do some business at the Cap One bank branch next store and for whatever reason, I don't know, I asked the teller what he thought about Compass Coffee. He told me that he liked it because the coffee is a little stronger than Starbucks. I was glad to hear that given that it's Saturday morning and I was dragging and needed a pick me up in order to finish running my errands. I have to say 2.5 of the stars are because this particular Compass Coffee location has a drive-through. Thank God! The drive-through moved relatively quick and my order was correct. Since it was my first time, I think I kept it relatively simple. I ordered a large, sugar-free vanilla nitro, cold brew and the hot honey sausage, egg and white cheddar sandwich along with an applewood, bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Don't judge me, I was hungry! I will say, Compass Coffee is slightly more expensive than Starbucks. I placed a very similar order at Buck's and the total was $16.50. My total for Compass was $22.81. The customer service was decent. Overall, I would rate it three stars. I say this because I did alert the person taking my order that this was my first time visiting Compass Coffee and they did not welcome me or offer any possible suggestions or ask me what I would like to try. I was treated as if I was a Compass Coffee regular. Ask for the taste of my order, I give a solid four stars for both sandwiches. They were piping hot and a bit more substantial than the Starbucks equivalent. The hot honey sandwich, although very tasty, had little to no heat or sweetness. It taste like a traditional sausage, egg, and cheese muffin. But it was good. The applewood bacon sandwich was my favorite. The bacon was cooked just right and the taste was worth a repeat performance Like the bank teller said, the coffee is notably a bit stronger than Starbucks. So, on those days when I'm struggling to get to work, I may find myself in the Compass Coffee drive-through line again. If you are a diehard, Starbucks fan, don't hesitate to give Compass Coffee a try. I'm not saying you'll be a convert, but it is a really good alternative ... especially if it's raining and you want to stay in your car! LOL! Maybe the next time I visit, I will go inside so that I can check out the interior. Happy eating (sipping)!

First of all, I love this place because it has a drive-thru window and also because it has a parking lot, where you can easily find a space or park on the street and go inside and work from the shop. I've been here a couple of times and I usually get a cold brew and bring my laptop and work from here. The stuff is pretty friendly and I do love the lighting inside as it's nice and bright. There's a bunch of people that also work from here and I can see it's very busy during peak times. The time I went through the driveway, it was easy to order, grab my drink and be on my way. Their coffeee is pretty good and consistent. They have shops all around DC and I've gone to a handful of them and also enjoyed their establishments.

First time here today. Over priced for very average food. I ordered their country chicken sausage and the bread was so hard i could barely rip it apart. The coffee was something id buy at a gas station. Paid over $30 for 2 sandwiches 1 large coffee and 1 medium hot chai. I will not try this place again. Also the cups aren't even full. They were filled between 1/2-3/4. Huge disappointment!!!!

Compass Coffee's first drive-thru location, the space itself is large. There's a parking lot out front in case you want to go in. If you do, there are plenty of tables, seats, outlets, and restrooms for customers. Selling pastries and all kinds of coffee drinks, my go-to order is the Almost Butter Latte. It's sweet and smooth. If you don't want to go in, follow the signs for the drive-thru.

Absolutely love that not only this location exists but it's a drive thru location too!!! Woot woot!!! Hence making it even easier to grab your favorite sip from Compass from the comfort of your car!! But do yourself a favor and pop inside and take a look around too!! The inside is spacious and inviting, great for catching up with friends or catching up on some work tasks!! Plus all the smiling faces of the staff will put a little extra sunshine in your day!! As far as my sip suggestion ~ Almond Butter Latte for the win!!

I've been to several different Compass Coffee locations before, but this particular one has their first drive thru and I can see it becoming a hit. They took over the building that used to house the SunTrust Bank so it already has the drive thru setup. There's also an indoor cafe so they offer a few parking spots outside, but I can see it getting filled quickly, especially because of all the people who spend hours on end on their laptops. Upon entrance, I was greeted by a super friendly person behind the register. Loved his demeanor! Considering that their menu is about the same in every location, I quickly decided on getting an almond butter latte and almond croissant. The latte was well balanced and of course it had pretty coffee art. The baristas were quick and friendly. The almond croissant was soft and flaky, but not the best I've had. All in all, a great location to that part of Arlington and I can see their drive thru getting popular!

Spent the afternoon here enjoying coffee with some friends. Loved all the creative seasonal offerings available-- but couldn't find a menu of all the other drinks anywhere... I'm someone who likes to know the cost of an item before I buy it! Not sure why they don't have a basic menu posted. I hope they add that somewhere in the future. There were several spots for sitting-- large tables with oddles of chairs surrounding them. Also larger comfier chairs for lounging and chatting. I ordered a cold brew and was very confused that it came out looking light brown. Apparently it's all the delicious coffee swirled together and bubbly! No actual milk in there, even though it looks like it! I liked that it had mini ice cubes as well, really added to the overall delicious experience. They also had several baked goods for sale. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant which was flavorful and had a ton of filing inside. Very tasty! I appreciated that they had a waterspout available with both still and sparkling water. I was able to fill up my water bottle many times !

Useful big sign, you can't miss the spot

I wanted to get the annual special cherry blossom latte, which if you have never had is something you have to do immediately. It comes hot or cold and it's only offered during the spring. JUST GO! Not wanting to try to find a parking space around Ballston I decided to try the drive up on Langston boulevard and it was terrific. The coffee shop is repurposed from a bank, so when you pull in the driveway the drive-thru is not as noticeable as fast food places. And when you drive around you'll notice that it very much was a bank. Service was quick, easy and super friendly--service could not have been friendlier! Absolute Win!

I've been to a couple of compass coffee around DMV. I like how this one is a drive thru. However, there isn't enough parking in their parking lot, but luckily there's free street parking. There's plenty of seating here! I got the Cherry Blossom Cream Cold brew, which taste like cotton candy. I would come here again.

I was in a mad rush to get to work today, and this coffee shop was the easiest because of their drive thru ordering window. I wanted to get something different than the same old latte or cafe of the day, so I ordered the Mint cold brew cafe. This was completely new to me, and it reminded me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was good, and I'm nearly halfway finished as I continue my drive. I have been inside this cafe before, and it's a decent sized space, and they have a lot of tables and chairs for large groups of people as well. I also ordered a Natalie's organic orange juice for later. The drive thru ordering process was fast and convenient, and I also appreciated the friendliness at this early hour of the morning.

You could choose broiled salmon and salad, and still be happy though. I want to like this place more than I actually do. The food is not mind- blowing. The service is a bit impersonal. Something is missing from the tableau, je ne sais quoi. The highlights of my meal were the outstanding french bread, which is served warm, and an excellent glass of Chateau Neuf du Pape, chosen by the waiter. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside.
