A show stopper fit for the amazing moms in our lives. The devils food base was moist and rich and paired perfectly with the salted vanilla buttercream. My family compared it to an upscale Oreo hehe... It also made my mom feel so special which is all you can ask for. 10/10! If you're preordering there is no special express line, and the shop can be busy, so keep that in mind if you're in a rush. I usually end up grabbing more pastries and a coffee while in line so it's win-win for me. The shop also has a small selection of cute merch, cards, sprinkles and other assorted gift items handy for picking up on your way to a party. Definitely one of my favorite bakeries, especially when I'm looking for a crowd pleasing cake. Highly recommend repeat visits as their menu is constantly rotating with the seasons. Curious to see what new items they add to the menu and how their pies are next time!

I'd never had a cherry or a black forest cake like that, feels very authentically German. The Apfeltasche was flaky, but wish it had more apple filling. I would definitely order and recommend the black forest cake.

Their menu items change often and are fresh, and so my friends and I had to try a few of their bakery goods. Their chocolate chip cookies were perfectly chewy with the right amount of gooey, classic chocolate. They were my absolute favorite! The oatmeal cookies also had a great texture and was not too sweet, which is my usual issue with general oatmeal cookies. The chocolate raisin scone was not too sweet; it was buttery, flaky, and balanced. The small chocolate and raisin chunks stayed in the scone well, but the flavors were distinguished and balanced with the actual scone itself. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood!

The class was $150 per person and advertised as including a loaf of bread plus making a loaf to take home. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable, well-spoken, and clearly passionate about bread so that part was wonderful. However, the overall experience wasn't quite what I expected. About 90% of the class was spent sitting in a small, crowded space for 2 hours listening to instruction, and only about 10% was hands-on in the final 15 minutes. We did get to fold dough that we took home to bake ourselves, but nothing was ready to eat, and it wasn't very interactive. We left with a bag of flour, a razor, and dough to finish at home. There wasn't it won't any disclosure beforehand that you would need your own Dutch oven or bread pan to bake the loaf, which I don't have and will now need to purchase. Had I known that in advance, I probably would have reconsidered buying a ticket. Overall, there was some cut up pre-made bread that we got to nibble on while we listened and had a very knowledgeable instructor but for $150, I was hoping for a more interactive experience and clearer expectations about what was included. It also would've been nice to have water be offered to the class.

Every week they have a huge selection of naturally-leavened (i.e. sourdough) breads, yeast breads, bread-like products, and pastries. The employees are always cheerful, efficient and pleasant and can knock down a line really fast. I'm a huge fan of their absurdly large ginger-molasses cookies and jam scones as well as any of their breads. I feel like there's still such a dearth of good bakeries in the South Bay that aren't "artisanal" and charge an arm and a leg for decent fresh bread, so this stand is a real treasure.
