I've been searching for the best coffee spots in Orange County however this one has by far been my favorite. From the sweetness of the baristas, to the flavorful drinks, to the overall experience. The lobby is quite large, and has various seats to study. The music isn't a bother when it comes to studying, if anything they play the best studying songs in my opinion. Huge shoutout to April & Matthew! Huge sweethearts and were more than willing to help when it came to figuring out what I wanted to order, and their kindness will have me continuing to visit this spot. First time here! Friendly service. Viet coffee was on point! My wife loved her brown sugar cookie delight and my daughter got their kids chocolate milk. Warm and homey atmosphere. This place was so neat. As a mom I really appreciated that they had a little kids play area in the corner, my one year old loved playing with the kitchen while I drank my blue chill pill latte. Absolutely love this place!! I enjoy coffee but I've also switched to drinking more Matcha and decaffeinated drinks. Communitea offers so many options. The chill pill is a great drink and good for you with superfoods. Lavender lemonade is refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. Even just an iced americano tastes 10x better here than that big chain coffee shop, you know who I'm talking about. Their drinks are creative and delicious. This is a 5-Star coffee shop burning a whole in my budget! I first met April, the proprietor, when she ran Unfold Yoga. She ran a wonderful business then that brought me some of my closest friendships. When I found out she was opening a coffee shop literally 20 yards from my office building, I was so excited... and yet, apprehensive. As a former snooty-coffee shop barista, I couldn't help but think, "What does a yoga business owner know about coffee?!" Well, it turns out, a lot. The quality of beverage is consistently topnotch. The menu is a mix of classics and more inventive drinks for those who want a variety of flavors in their beverage. I wish it wasn't so good because then it would be less of a temptation to run down between clients. More than the product itself, the atmosphere is delightful. It is warm and welcoming, with a small play area for kids, board games that any aficionado would approve, and a small grassy area just off the patio where kids can play. My kids LOVE the kids-sized hot chocolates that come with fun toppings. This is such a wonderful addition to the community and something I hope to see prosper. read more

I responded and said we are just waiting for our drinks and we will leave. got our drinks a min later and my strawberry matcha tasted like nothing but whole milk. This tea place is so cute. Next to the Brea Mall they encourage you to stay. There are games offered and toys for the littles. The service was excellent and fast. I ordered then non sweetened peach tea, it was wonderful as I could actually taste the peach flavor. The coffee is ok, it's pretty good but is it worth what you pay for no not really. I understand there an artisanal vibe to all of the drinks but it's kinda mid. I have gone twice and bought coffee and food just to give the benefit of the doubt. And I could overlook the product quality and value because it's a non-issue and I wouldn't leave a bad review because of that, but the quality of the service is so beyond bad that it's just irritating to think about. The barista's and the female owner are the type of cliquey people that if you're not hip enough or if you don't pose a certain vibe or emulate a look than you just aren't going to get good service. I ordered twice first time the barista was polite but short and I understand that but everyone else who walked in after was treated hospitable and like a guest. The second time the owner took my order and she was curt impolite and just eager to get me out of her line of sight. I try my best to be polite and nice but because I'm nerodivergent I have a hard time socially but being treated rude for no reason is so childish and stupid and I'm sorry for the product and price I would never go again. For a business that wants to front a community equality acceptance type environment it's ironic how much this place picks and chooses who gets this type of treatment. read more

I've been to Communitea Coffee twice now and have had great experiences both times. It has definitely been added to my rotation of coffee shops. This past visit I had a Spanish Latte with almond milk and it was pretty good. There is plenty of seating, the lighting is perfect, and the music playing create a fulfilling and productive environment. It can get quite loud, especially because there is a small corner dedicated to children with toys and games so bring headphones if you plan to get work done. read more

A friend recommended this new coffee spot so I tried it out today. Upon entering the establishment it was open, bright, modern and had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu was located right when you entered and was clear and provided info on each drink. I was warmly greeted and asked if I had any questions on the menu. I ordered a hot Spanish latte which was creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The coffee was very good with no bitter after taste. There was ample seating and even a kids corner. My wife and I started going here during their soft launch period, and it's been exciting seeing them continue to grow and improve the decor and the menu. Every drink I've tried has been great! Very nice little spot, nicely decorated and friendly. Tucked in a corner behind IHOP. Tried their Iced Vanilla latte which was good and the flavor profile was unique, good not great at least for me. Spanish latte was also good not great. Best in mind folks they are still new and working out their recipes, I really hope to see things start to get dishes in at I'm always rooting for small business. Bagel was ok, the taste was very good however the fridge and texture were lacking density and freshness. I'll give them some time to get the kinks worked out and come back for an update. read more

Easiest 5 stars I've given. Honestly I'm mad at myself for not reviewing this place sooner. As an admitted coffee snob, I'm so happy to have this place near my work. They are coffee PROS, they know what they are doing in all facets: espresso based drinks, pour over, drip coffee, cold brew, you name it. High quality across the board as well with their equipment, coffee suppliers, milk and milk alternatives, flavorings, baked goods, just everything. Not often do coffee shops have it figured out from the jump, but these folks were hitting high levels of service from the onset. Not only are they coffee pros, they are customer service pros too. They have recommendations ready to fire at the hip. They encourage people to try new things while also understanding that not a lot of people know what they want and can steer people in the right direction. Also, the vibes? **** Immaculate **** They spruced up the place in such an awesome way. Plenty of seating inside and outside, with an absolute dope selection of board games for customers to play. And they have a little kids corner with fun toys and whatnot to keep the kiddos entertained. This place hits in literally all areas. Communitea feels just as it says, like a community. Randomly walked in with my tweenager and loved it - the owner April , and the other server were so patient explaining the various beverage options - I had the cappuccino and my tween had the chill pill blue lavender latte which smelled heavenly!! I loved that they had a little play area ( super clean) to entertain small kids, both interior and outside seating, large work tables and a nice collection of board games. This is a long overdue review. Having frequented many local coffee shops in/around north Orange County, Communitea is hands-down the best. Staff is always welcoming, vibes are just what you want for a non-pretentious, family-friendly coffee shop. You can tell this place was designed by a mom. The kids play area is a crowd pleaser for my littles, and it buys me time to chat with my mom friends while our kids are safely entertained. Wait - I haven't even mentioned the coffee...aside from everything else I've mentioned, the coffee is really the cherry on top of the experience. It just never misses. No matter what I've ordered. The food options are delicious too - may or may not be garekeeping my personal fave. Everything is also super reasonably priced, which also makes it a preferred option as opposed to some of the surrounding competition, where a small craft drink can be significantly more expensive.
