Just happened to be driving by and noticed this coffee shop tucked back in the corner of a shopping plaza. First time visiting and was pleasantly surprised. They use Klatch beans (Belle) and liked that since not many shops in the area use their beans. Ordered an almond milk hot latte. Very nice. Belle espresso beans are nice. Not acidic and not smoky. Best thing I liked was the Cup and LIDS. Cups are cool. Built in sleeve for temperature. Best thing was the LIDS. It's got a hole in the middle so you can smell the coffee as you drink it. Seriously makes a difference. Love the attention to detail. Way to go! Will definitely be a regular customer. read more

Communitea Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Brea, California

Favorite coffee shop in OC! Love the ambience, baristas and of course the delicious drinks! April does a great job of coming out with new flavors of drinks for each season. She has a great talent for balancing out the flavor of the drinks, just enough sweet but not overpowering that it looses the taste of the espresso. As of now my favorite is the pistachio cold brew, I am not usually a cold brew person but their cold brew is very smooth and well balanced. Perfect place to study too. Definitely a place to come visit if you are a caffeine lover. Support local:) read more

10/10 recommend communitea! I have been coming here since they opened and not only is the coffee excellent, affordable and delicious the vibes are all good. They have a play area in the back for the kids. I can get coffee and my kids can play while I relax. My kids also love the kids hot chocolate, which is the perfect appropriate size for kids. They have a huge selection of board and card games to play while in the store. Their seasonal menus are always unique and delicious. The staff is so kind and helpful! I love communitea and always choose to come here instead of any other coffee shop! read more

No smile cashier. Asked for extra extra hot hazelnut latte with no room for foam & came out lukewarm with foam. Disappointed, especially with all the good reviews online. read more

Great place to grab an excellent cup of coffee. Added bonus that they have a kids play area! I had the vanilla latte with cinnamon and it was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had! They have fun events going on throughout the month. Plenty of seating too. This is definitely my new go to place! read more

The staff was nice and remade our drink when we got it iced instead of our requested hot. Really appreciate that a lot, no hassle at all getting it remade. Interior was very pretty and excellent design, menus was clear and nice, and cute cheap plants you can buy inside. However, our drinks weren't great. My lavender latte was extremely watery, and I genuinely am not a picky person. The coffee also has a strange unpleasant taste to it. The drink they had made on accident was pretty good though, the iced brown sugar cookie delight. Can't say I recommend the chill pill blue lavender though. Was shocked because this place has nice reviews. Maybe just an off day. I do really appreciate them remaking the drink. I also am pretty sure the present sticker is ai art, which is disheartening because they have so much lovely art and design in the shop otherwise. Hope I'm wrong about that. read more

Very spacious and a nice hang out/ study spot :) they have really cute seasonal coffees! Workers are very friendly and helpful :) Will be back! read more

Food was great! The almond croissant filling was delicate and not overly sweet. The vegan French Pastry had a delicious topping and the crust was flaky and tender. The cardamom Rose Latte had great flavor and our other drink was a custom flavor - they were so accommodating! Relaxed feel inside with good music and it looks like they have a lot of fun events. read more

Love this coffee shop! The coffee is consistently good and prices aren't bad. My go to drink is the viet coffee, it's really good. They even have a play area for kids. Definitely one of our go to places! read more

One of my favorite places to visit. I love it inside, environment feels so warm and welcoming. Want to go back to try more of the menu

This place makes exceptional coffee. I just ordered a cold brew with an Irish cream cold foam...jeeeezus it is out of this world! Perfectly balanced. Plus- to top it off- there's a kids play area in here...what a nice surprise for me (as I came with my toddler in tow) and now I'm sitting here actually able to relax and enjoy my exceptional drink (as my kid is fully occupied without me having to do a thing)! read more

Nice variety of drinks and good service from the staff. Both indoor and outdoor seating have good vibes.

First time here and wow I'm impressed! There is a little play area for kids which was being used by two little ones while their mom enjoyed her coffee and the best part was , directly after they left, the employee thoroughly wiped down the play area. Major props there ! And the croissant I got was delicious and so was the caramel iced latte! Will be returning !! Thank you Communitea!! read more

Communitea is hands down one of my favorite places in Brea, and one of my favorite coffee shops in general! I've been dozens of times at this point, and I have never been disappointed with my drink or my experience. First and foremost, the coffee is high quality, whether I've gotten something simpler like a Cold Brew latte or one of their seasonal drinks. They use Klatch coffee (who have a shop in San Dimas and are also awesome. I've gotten a decent range of drinks at this point, from a simple cold brew latte to probably have their seasonal menus. Some highlights for me are the Viet Coffee (not super sweet and strong coffee flavor), the Not-Just-a-Vanilla latte, the Dark Harvest Cold Brew, and their matcha with strawberry foam. I usually try to get sugar-free drinks to limit my sugar intake, and their sugar free syrup is probably one of the better ones I've had. They have a few basic food options too, from breakfast sandwiches to assorted pastries. I highly recommend the pretzel croissant breakfast sandwich. The space itself is great for slowing down and hanging out. They have a wonderful little patio area when the weather's nice, and there is ample seating inside. They also have a cute little play area for kids with toys and a kitchen playset as well as a bookshelf of board games for anyone to play while they enjoy their coffee with friends. However, it's not just the coffee that makes Communitea special. The owner April and her entire staff are always so friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about their customers. They have no problem taking the time to inform me of their drinks and help me decide what I want to order if I feel indecisive that day. April truly wants her place to be everybody's "third place" in Brea, and the shop hosts really cute events, meet-ups, and mini-vendor fairs to help bring the community together. Community is a big gem in Brea, and I'm really thankful that they opened here. read more

The coffee was amazing! The vibe was great! And for the most part the staff was kind and professional. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for that one young female staff member who must have been having a God awful day which I ended up suffering for. Aside from her having a bad day, it was great. read more

I will be terribly remiss if I do not upgrade my previous rating for Communitea from 4 to 5 stars. Coffee in this establishment needs not only to be savored but experienced as well - and I have to admit, its welcoming and friendly environs have won me over! I love the fact that it hosts special events such as a night market, kids' clothing exchange, etc. for the neighborhood. Communitea's eponymous approach to curating an experience that allows for personal connections is indeed a laudable effort. Nicely done! read more

Iced Latte delicious and my brother said cold brew good too. Nice atmosphere and friendly people.

This is a 5-Star coffee shop burning a whole in my budget! I first met April, the proprietor, when she ran Unfold Yoga. She ran a wonderful business then that brought me some of my closest friendships. When I found out she was opening a coffee shop literally 20 yards from my office building, I was so excited... and yet, apprehensive. As a former snooty-coffee shop barista, I couldn't help but think, "What does a yoga business owner know about coffee?!" Well, it turns out, a lot. The quality of beverage is consistently topnotch. The menu is a mix of classics and more inventive drinks for those who want a variety of flavors in their beverage. I wish it wasn't so good because then it would be less of a temptation to run down between clients. More than the product itself, the atmosphere is delightful. It is warm and welcoming, with a small play area for kids, board games that any aficionado would approve, and a small grassy area just off the patio where kids can play. My kids LOVE the kids-sized hot chocolates that come with fun toppings. This is such a wonderful addition to the community and something I hope to see prosper. read more

I've been searching for the best coffee spots in Orange County however this one has by far been my favorite. From the sweetness of the baristas, to the flavorful drinks, to the overall experience. The lobby is quite large, and has various seats to study. The music isn't a bother when it comes to studying, if anything they play the best studying songs in my opinion. Huge shoutout to April & Matthew! Huge sweethearts and were more than willing to help when it came to figuring out what I wanted to order, and their kindness will have me continuing to visit this spot. This was everything I was looking for in a coffee shop, and I was absolutely impressed. read more

The way coffee /tea shops should be! Local focused, high quality coffee, healthy snack alternatives, woman-owned. Ambiance is the best!

Absolutely love this place!!! Their blueberry matcha is to die for and it's so so good!!

Absolutely love this place!! I enjoy coffee but I've also switched to drinking more Matcha and decaffeinated drinks. Communitea offers so many options. The chill pill is a great drink and good for you with superfoods. Lavender lemonade is refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. Even just an iced americano tastes 10x better here than that big chain coffee shop, you know who I'm talking about. Their drinks are creative and delicious. Not just that but they have wonderful community events which is more than you can ask out of a good local coffee shop! Thank you Communitea! read more

Amazing coffee! Great food the breakfast was amazing. Also tried the Matcha that was really good.

I've been to Communitea Coffee twice now and have had great experiences both times. It has definitely been added to my rotation of coffee shops. This past visit I had a Spanish Latte with almond milk and it was pretty good. There is plenty of seating, the lighting is perfect, and the music playing create a fulfilling and productive environment. It can get quite loud, especially because there is a small corner dedicated to children with toys and games so bring headphones if you plan to get work done. read more
