Service is combative and unacceptable. They argue with you and continue to tell the customer they can't place an order. We were told we could order lunch at 2pm. We waited until 2:10 and were still told we couldn't place our order. We asked if we could get fires while we waited as we saw most customers had fries. Again told no. When I showed a look of frustration, manager walked up to me with an aggressive tone, "WHAT!?" Threw her hands up and lunged at me. She continued to argue with my husband and when he told her I'm tired of your excuses she continued to lay into him. He asked her to end the conversation three times before she finally walked away. I witnessed them giving special treatment to the customers who bought them alcohol. There's no reason for the manager to be rude and aggressively attack as if she was ready to fight. You should never make your customers feel as if you're going to beat them up. If you want them to give any kind of service you better get them drunk as that's the only reason they provide service. The beer selection is quite large (about 15+) and they change their beers often so you're able to try new beers. Walk up to place your order. The ambience of Commonwealth is actually quite nice. When you walk inside you are able to order at the cashier and you grab a number and choose your own seat. They bring you your food to your table. They have an entire wall with plenty of beer and cider options on tap as well as wine. I tried the jalapeño pear cider and I really liked it a lot. It is a nice fresh flavor of jalapeño and a hint of pear, very unique. I paid seven dollars for the cider which is actually quite reasonable for downtown Turlock. We also got the honey Sriracha wings and a burger with fries. The food was good and so were the drinks. It takes about 15 minutes to receive your food which is great on timing. Came on Sunday at 11 before the rush of people. The staff at the bar was very kind, but after ordering our food, it took 40 minutes to come out. When the poached eggs on our meal were cut into, they were undercooked with the white of the egg still being a translucent color. After asking them to redo it, it took 15 minutes and then the poach eggs came out as hard-boiled eggs. One of our other meals had poached eggs also, but we waited to cut into them thinking if they were under done, it would give them time to finish cooking while eating other stuff but one was done correctly and the other was underdone. Although the food was good, our appetizer arrived with our main course and was rather mumbled out when placing before the wrong person. We were never asked how our food was, or even approached after receiving to see if everything was okay. Empty tables sat dirty until there were 5 or 6 between patio and inside, and I counted at least 6 flies on one table while bored and patiently awaiting for our food. Nice location in downtown Turlock. Good parking. Warehouse style restaurant so it can get loud. A nice place to go with friends who enjoy craft beer. I had a delicious cider and the tacos were amazing! My husband's burger was a disappointment to him. The burger was a bit smaller than the bun and it was well done. He likes beef a little closer to the rare side. You order up at the counter and the servers were very helpful and efficient. I visited Commonwealth about six months ago. I purposely waited for my disappointment to ebb regarding the service. It was about November of 2023. I requested the Eggs Benedict and said clearly that I needed the eggs cooked more than "over easy". The young lady who took the order seemed kind of unsure about what I meant. So, I said, cooked medium or hard, no runny yolks. If you take a look at your regular menu, it mentions on the bottom that some items like meat and eggs might be unsafe if not cooked enough, or something to that affect. The breakfast arrived about 15 minutes later, longer than other customers waited for theirs. Immediately I checked the eggs, which were runny, runny, runny. I told the wait staff, who said they would tell the cook they weren't cooked enough. She looked hesitant but took my plate back. There were no new customers, but this cook made me wait 20 minutes for my order. The eggs were still runny. It became obvious that I was being punished. I can't bring myself to say what I found on my plate with my breakfast. It was something really obnoxious. I wanted to complain to management, but I didn't think they would believe me. We decided to give this place a try as we had previously had great experiences at their Modesto location. When we first arrived we were greeted with friendly smiles. However, that was the end of all and any customer service we received that night. Not once after receiving our food were we acknowledge or asked if we needed refills. She got a pesto chicken sandwich, and let me tell you it should have been called the pesto bread sandwich considering the lack of chicken the sandwich contained. I ordered the commonwealth cob salad with extra chicken, once again not too happy with their intake on "extra ". On the brighter side their, cauliflower bites were delicious! I went in today with my family before heading to the movies. It was very busy and unfortunately they ran out of fries. They offered homemade chips or side salad. My kids opted for chips with their meals and my husband and I with a side salad. The food was absolutely delicious and the server was so nice. She didnt charge lemonade or iced tea to make up for the fries. Before we finished out meal she came out with a side of fries as they sent someone to purchase more. There was a mouse running around the INSIDE dinning room area. When we told the staff there was a mouse running around they were very nonchalant about it like it wasn't a big deal. He said the owners are aware of it and are taking care of it " there way" he said there is a neighborhood cat that helps with the issue so it seems like it's a constant thing not an isolated incident . The food we had was fantastic, plus tons of taps with good craft beer. They had three different offerings from Russian River, one of my favorites. The garlic buffalo wings were fantastic.
