5 starts because I've never been here so I don't want my review to affect your rating but just a tip because I've been wanting to come but I don't for the following reasons. Your menu on IG is so overwhelming, there are so many options listed, additions and half portions. You charge additional for protein, almost everyone orders their food with protein so when I see a sandwich is $13 without protein and half size and then it's an additional $6-7 to add a protein, it's an immediate no from me. $13 for a half sandwich without protein is wild. I do wish to come here one day but it will probably be on someone else's dime. read more

17+ dollars for a stepped on piece of ciabbatta from Costco. Outrageous. Beautiful location, however what kind of staff doesn't know what a panini is. Kind but not worth my time and money. They didn't even know what kind of bread they served. I can't stand anywhere on main in Turlock. What a bunch of rip offs downtown Turlock. You want good Italian? Go to Bella Luna in Merced. The food was excellent! I bought a frozen eggplant and Mac n cheese. The owner(maybe) was very friendly, recommended dishes and a plethora soup and sauces available. The lasagna was amazing and Mac n cheese was good. A few gripes is the portions were small. A family size lasagna served two fat people. The price point was high, although the food was good enough to come back. Second is the very limited time frame they're open. Most of the times it will be closed before I'm off work. read more

This truly is a hidden gem with a local residents only. The food is all locally grown vegetables the items you can truly tasted The freshness in every bite. We had Rizzuto, dinner salad, a Chinese chicken salad, two non-alcoholic drinks and their world famous cookies, and the bill was about $39 for two people. There only drawback is there open Tuesday through Friday 11 AM to five ouch for the general public! read more

Found this place on yelp as I'm working locally in the area. TAKEOUT only. They do fresh food and frozen meals which is really cool! I got one of the special sandwiches- a turkey and Brie pressed sandwich. It was AMAZING. It came with the sauce which was on the side but also delicious. I will definitely be coming again read more

This is my favorite spot in Turlock! I eat here at least two times a week. All of their food is amazing. In the past I would always just get one thing, now I get whatever their special is, even if its something I dont think I would like. Angela convinced me to try the Tuna Melt special, even though I thought I did not like tuna melts... That is now my favorite sandwich at Cottas... maybe anywhere. Ok, it might be a tie with their Salmon Sandwich. If you are in Turlock this is a must eat spot for lunch! Prior to the COVID, it was always so nice to eat inside and enjoy the company. We all are looking forward to getting back to that but for now, its the best take-out around!!! P.S. don't forget to get the best chocolate chip cookie you have ever had. read more

Went there for lunch to meet three other friends. I had to sit outside In the heat as we can not sit inside. Not sure why. Food was good but pricey. Shared my chicken sandwich with one of my friends they charged us to have the other half put on a paper plate. We had to order inside ourself like at a fast food restaurant. The topper was when the owners mother came out and began to speak her agenda of the Covid issue. How this is America she's free doesn't have to wear a mask never wore a mask and thinks the vaccine is all bullshit. Not what I expected so I'm a little disappointed. Not complaining about the staff or sandwich I ordered, just to be clear. Staff was great. My pastrami sandwich was smaller than I thought. I had it toasted so that made it tasty but it had too much pastrami for my liking. I just felt it was somewhat overpriced for such a small portion because it didn't come with any sides. I paid $9.75 for just my sandwich. No drink, soup, or chips because I didn't want to spend another dime. They make a different soup every day even though there are other soups listed in their menu. The soup of the day is the only option. I came here because it's an almost 5 star place, supposedly, but I will have to disagree. I'm so sorry but I prefer Panara. read more

It's very fresh food & new menu every week (except for the best salmon every Friday) I've had so many good things here, from tuna melts to risotto with jumbo shrimp.... & every soup she makes is fantastic. Omg cotta's is JAW DROPPING DELICIOUS!!! Literally ANYTHING off their menu is delicious! When i want to feel like im getting a good home cooked meal by mom or gma I go here. The quality of the food is AMAZING!! Even their leftovers are awesome go to's. The ladies there always go out of their way to accommodate you and make you feel at home. It literally feels like your stepping into grandma's or Mom's kitchen!! You are always greated with a warm welcome. They want to get to know you deeper and ask about your day. Fresh, seasonal food with an Italian umph! Fresh daily specials that tantalize the senses. I was just there to pick up dinner to bring home. Tonight, her perfectly cooked salmon in a mouth watering marinade along with roasted asparagus. (No heating required) she has a freezer section with her homemade lasagnas, soups, and if your lucky,mushroom turnovers. Oh my goodness. I love this place. The food is great and they make you feel so welcomed. Lunch is from 11:00 until 2:00 but they do take out until 6:00. It's so nice to have a good lunch place near downtown Turlock. read more

My daughter and I stopped here for lunch several months ago while we were in town. We loved it so decided when it was time for her to graduate from Stanislaus State, we would have her graduation lunch here. We were asked to email a few days in advance how many attendees for lunch and they would take it from there. Everything was ready when we got there. The food was excellent. Salmon Friday was a hit. When the server found that not only had my daughter graduated that day, it was also her birthday and that the was getting married 2 days later they brought her 2 freshly made cookies. Truly special! Everyone who attended lunch commented on what a great find this place was. Service was excellent. Angela and her team are the best. Love this place. Customer service is very nice. The food is decent;however, I'm sure their catering is probably very good. I do feel it's slightly over-priced for the portions, bit the food is good. I suggest more food for the price or lower price for the portion size. I do think the food is delicious read more

Just served my family Cotta's Kitchen's Baked Rigatoni with Beef Ragu. What a delicious dish. It was perfectly seasoned, no additional doctoring. I had been wanting to try Cotta's Kitchen for some time now. This afternoon I went to pick up a Muffuletta sandwich. Now, we have visited Central Grocery in New Orleans where the muffuletta sandwich originated. There, one can order a large sandwich which is made with a generous serving of the meats, cheeses and olive tapenade. A whole sandwich which easily serves four adults is roughly $20.00. The one from Cotta's Kitchen had very good quality ingredients but it was served on a relatively small ciabatta roll. That was okay but the signature olive tapenade, which makes the sandwich special, was virtually missing in action. Just a very slight "shmear." I would be willing to pay $6.50 or even $7.00 for a single portion at Cotta's but $8.95? No, not a good value even considering high quality ingredients. I will return with the hubby and/or friends to taste some of the other delicious offerings. I wish them well, they are lovely people. read more
