Was in Houston for the playoff games. My sister and I didn't want to go to chain coffee shop and she found this place. When we arrived there were no signs letting us know where the coffee shop was. Perched in the Houston Five Center building on McKinney, it's in the Fulbright tower and a perfect place to mingle or grab a cup of joe on the run. OMG... I literally had the best bowl of oatmeal I have ever had in my life! It was so flavorful. And the blend of fruit, nuts, and brown sugar was delish! Since it's located in an office building, they usually close after lunch hours. It's located in the 5 Houston Center building. You can access the building through the sky bridge so it's pretty convenience. You can also find parking in the connected garage and go to the third floor which is the lobby of the building. This coffee shop will be down on your right. I'm glad I work in the building so it's just a quick trip down for coffee or breakfast. This is a hidden gem inside of a commercial building. 3rd floor, past security. I ordered their cold latte Cinnamon Toast Crunch and let me tell you it was delicious. It wasn't too sweet and can taste the coffee. It had the right balance between the flavors. The customer service was Rick solid. I enjoyed this little coffee shop a lot. Love their green tea latte with oat milk! Deliciously creamy with a touch of bitterness from the matcha. The baristas are always extremely kind and even let me place an order over the phone once! The seating area is beautiful and I love the open concept. The only issue I've had is that they don't whisk their matcha thoroughly before pouring it into the cup, so oftentimes there's clumps floating about. Would love to come back! read more

Common grounds Uncommon Coffee is one of my favorites places when they first opened up. Unfortunately I cannot remmeber the year they opened - but I've been it's fan since day 1 (lol). The service is amazing, the staff is super nice. It pretty much gotten to the point I am a regular and they know my order . My usual is a milk and honey latte either iced or warm. They always get the right amount and it is a slight hint of sweetness and bitterness. Their masala chai is just homely. Another drink I would recommend!! The spices is just right, and you can tell it is legit and authentic. If you're not a fan of coffee - they have a good selection of tea to choose from which is boiled with loose leafs. Pretty good if I must say! Overall 4.5/5 I would recommend it to everyone who can walk and grab a good cup of coffee. It is a little pricy for the amount you get but overall, it is worth it. The staff work really hard and never have to make you wait for a long time. Note: I've finally wrote a review on this place yay! Unfortunately I got terminated and have no clue if I would be able to have this place again. I'll truly miss this place - the staff and coffee. They're super nice and I've never gotten to know their name. I hope their coffee shop thrives and expand outside of downtown. read more

As the name states, there is nothing common about the coffee here, it's simply superb. At first sip, I could tell the beans selected were meticulously roasted to perfection, giving it a smooth tasting but also a bold cup of coffee. I don't typically have high expectations of coffee places located in office buildings, so it was a pleasant surprise that these folks are serious about their craft - both in terms of the drinks and the customer service.
