Refreshing beverage in Downtown Honolulu, Hawaii... Irene M. knew about this cute shop and brought me here. I wouldn't have found it on my own. I hadn't heard of it be fore this! Common Ground is located on the left side of Bishop Street as you head makai (towards the ocean). It's right before the "new" AC Hotel on the corner of Hotel Street. The cozy shop has a wide variety of local merchandise as well as creative drinks. We got one of the Summer Specials: Coconut Hibiscus Matcha. There were nice layers of matcha, almond milk, and coconut Hibiscus syrup. It was delicious! We did mix the layers together for the sweet, creamy, matcha flavor. We sat outside on the enclosed patio. The Instagram-worthy wall was a fun backdrop for our photos! Thanks to the patient barista for her help and efficiency! She let us chat until closing time!

I'm on a mission to try as many coffee shops in downtown as I can. Common Ground is located right next to the AC hotel on the street level. The inside of the shop is very bright and clean, with a simple menu and other trinkets for purchase. I got the Dubai chocolate drink, and it was just alright. The things that make a Dubai chocolate bar a Dubai chocolate bar are the knafeh and pistachio. The pistachio was lacking in this drink, and there was way too much knafeh. It's supposed to be a crunchy texture, but they put so much inside that it became soggy. There's some seating on the balcony outside, as well as more seating part of the hotel on the level below. Service was quick and friendly. I want to give this place another shot and get one of their other drinks.

Matcha- matcha wasn't as strong, but still a fun way to start the day Ambiance - modern storefront, cutesy lil seating area, and good gifts on their shelves

This cute little shop has really delicious coffee! We tried the chocolate macadamia nut latte and the ube vanilla latte. The chocolate macadamia was really good and kind of tasted like a mocha with the chocolate. The ube vanilla didn't have the strongest ube flavor and the vanilla was more prominent. The service was friendly and fast! I'd come back for the chocolate macadamia and would love to try other drinks!

Found this place this morning while waiting downtown and I left so content. I rarely try anything new in fear of it tasting bad, I have the worst luck but I'm so happy I tried the Vanilla Lavender Oat Milk Latte on ice. It was sooo good! It was different and not too sweet, even though I like sweet. It was the perfect morning drink. My sister had a regular latte and she said it was great. The place was nice and clean and empty, we went in at around 7:45am. We would've stayed and hung out in the sit down area but we were waiting on people so we left. The barista was super nice and made a great recommendation when I asked what was popular. So glad we found this place! I'll be back once school starts!

It is 10:30am and they're already out of matcha... Not the greatest start for me though I'm sure being new in the area the curiosity obviously was there and I'm not the only one obsessed with Matcha especially seeing they use Kyoto Matcha it got my senses super excited, I just got the "ya were out..." tone. Seriously not feeling coffee and though they seem to have various other grab and go sips I still wanted something crafted and spotted Vanilla Ube Latte. I was about to also ask if they have milk alternatives but did noticed they do...Oat and Macadamia Nut seems like the two they have listed but was a bit thrown off when they gave me the total then later asked what size...hmmm! I did go for the larger size and paid to only realize that I didn't get to have the change to ask for Mac Nut Milk which frustrated me as she never asked if there was anything else, the service wasn't rude but your basic average whatever tone was felt. The coffee shop itself is very cozy as it sits on busy Bishop Street with six tables right outside is a very nice touch but is only shaded with a large umbrella for all six tables so I can imagine during summer it can get quite heated but at the moment chill or get some work done here is a welcome place to visit and will do so to try their Matcha. Thank you!

Had their matcha latte and a manchego prosciutto sourdough. The food and beverage selection is alright -- just enough extra/specialty choices so that it doesn't feel too limited. No complaints about the food or drink. The barista was nice and cute but a bit spacey -- she got my drink order wrong, as well as the drink order of one of the customers ahead of me. The small deck space is cozy but nice. Inside the shop there are cool products to look at and browse while you wait for your order: teas and coffees of course, but also soap and candles and soy sauce? Definitely worth a try!

New coffee shop attached to AC Hotel in downtown Honolulu. Excellent service and good location right on Bishop and Hotel Streets. Ordered croissants for a gathering and they are made on premises. Very light and flaky! Nice selection of chocolate, tea and coffee. Worth a visit for coffee or a pastry.

Good things come to those who wait. I only wish there were more people here specifically waiting…read morefor the coffee because it was absolutely delicious! Sadly, it seemed more folks were there for the pastries though. First off, I'm surprised I found such a fabulous cup of coffee in what feels like the epicenter of tourist life on this island. While visiting another island nearly establishment had signage stating they served Kona and/or Hawaiian coffee, but nearly every establishment's coffee was absolutely awful. Seeing the location I fully expected them to phone in the coffee, but it's clear that coffee comes first here, even if many of the guests are trying to get pastries! You'll be shocked by the line, but just know the staff is efficient and it moves fast. They offer a variety of their own locally roasted beans here, with options for batch brew, espresso drinks and even pour overs (impressive considering the volume of customers). The coffees are well described and the baristas have the additional knowledge you may be seeking when you order, and all in all this went as quickly as I could have expected. Truly, the coffee was delightful, and the fact I was drinking a hot drink on an extremely hot day didn't even phase me. I wanted so badly to bring home a bag of each one, but given that everything is more expensive in Hawaii, these were all 4x the price of the specialty coffee I buy on the mainland and I just couldn't make it happen. What will happen is me telling everyone to visit this shop when they're in Hawaii because it is 100% worth it. Won't you consider opening one in Reno NV?

This can't be Kona coffee, and if it was, they don't know how to brew it. Terribly horrible, really expensive coffee. Don't bother.

Bluetree has become one of my top coffee shops in town for checking all of these boxes! There's parking in their structure (scan QR code in the cafe to register your license plate #), plenty of seating inside (upstairs/downstairs), and WiFi if you plan on doing work. My go-to drink as of recently has been their Kulolo Crunch Latte. I also loved their Coconut Cloud Matcha -- they use Wai Koko coconut water! For the most part, people in the shop are doing work and being productive so it's not too overstimulating like many coffee shops I've been to. If you're looking for just a chill place to grab a coffee or matcha and lock in, I'd recommend checking out Bluetree in Kaka'ako!

So of course I got the "KULOLO CRUNCH LATTE" but sad to say ima have to give this a 4/10. It just tasted like a regular coffee with crunch. I really tried hard to get that taste of the kulolo but I didn't. I also let my mom & daughter try & they didn't taste any kulolo.

Plantoem offers a relaxing ambiance upon entrance. Navigate the jungle of plants to access the cafe counter. I requested the Yerba Mate which is only available for in-house. The barista was a bit bemused when I ( humorously ) mentioned I swallowed some sediment from the straw...not being used to drinking yerba mate in this traditional way. We came on a holiday morning, and there wasn't anyone inside. The cafe is cute and vibey! Love how pet-friendly it is with the polaroids--I'd definitely bring my pup here. There's also a decent amount of seating to hang out or work at. Service was fine. I ordered at the register, and she made my drink immediately. I was intrigued by their Haupia Matcha Latte. I love all things Haupia, so it seemed like the perfect match. I got the Haupia Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, and it was superb. I loved how creamy it was, how the sweetness of the haupia shone, but the earthiness of the matcha was still there. I'd definitely recommend this drink and am curious about their others.
