Trust me, I went in for seconds right after I was done ;) Bestowing a little google nerdiness on you, Come Il Latte means White as Milk. And like its namesake, the quaint gelato place is decked with milk bottles which add cuteness to character. We were greeted by an uber sweet solo employee who translated the different Italian flavors for us. Me being Me asked for a sample and she was more than happy to provide me with several samples which is usually highly irritable to Italian vendors who stop you with a "only two sample please" grunt. I finally settled onto the chocolate coconut and coffee flavor. My friend got her usual pistachio and chocolate and we sat outside to enjoy the delicious cream. I had gelato everyday during my two week stay in Italia but none came close to bestowing the blissful state my taste buds were in after eating at Il Latte. Also, get the homemade whipped cream and a splash of chocolate on top. You wont regret it! They also offer seasonal desserts and other goodies. I tried their 'gelato-sandwich' (tiny icecream sandwich) which was really good as well. I wish I could fly back right now and eat some of that chocolate coconut gelato! Soooo good! read more

About a year ago when I wrote my previous review, it was one of the first gelato places I had been to in Rome (not to mention Italy) and I didn't have anything else to compare it to. A year later, living in Rome and going to many gelato shops all over Italy I can safely say this is the BEST gelato I have had in Italy. You will not regret going here. My favorites are the strawberry flavors and anything with Mascarpone (if its available). My husband usually gets the dark chocolate and hazelnut flavors, which are two reliably good choices as well. If you're feeling adventurous you can also try the Cremolati, usually in different fruit flavors, which is almost like granita (or snowcone), but made with real fruits and none of the syrup stuff. IT IS AMAZING on a hot summers day. Regardless of what you choose, DO NOT miss this gelato shop if you're on a trip to Rome. read more

Excellent gelato place with a spin of chocolate. You must try this place if you're in the Termini neighborhood. Their flavors are a little more limited that your average gelato shops, but the quality of the gelato is OUT OF THIS WORLD. You start with picking your first layer of your cone.. I choose white chocolate. They pour a little in the hollow and you get two scoops. I chose hazelnut and double latte (milk). They then top it homemade whip (coffee or vanilla). I chose coffee, a waffle flake and your choice again of milk or white chocolate. All in all, the cone was decadent and delicious. I wish I had another right now. NOM! read more

I swear, this is the cutest gelato shop in Italy. If you like Grom, you'll definitely like it here. They have tons of gelato flavors to choose from as well as gelato cakes (Amazing looking cakes with gelato on the inside and on top), gelato cupcakes (Gelato frozen and shaped like a cupcake topped with cream and crushed pastries) and delicious little gelato pops (Gelato dipped in chocolate, on a stick, yum). The decorations are so cute. The walls are lined with sketches of gelato and old fashioned milk jugs. The cashiers are super nice! A great place to stop by if you're in Rome. read more

I love this gelato place so much I went three times during my four day trip to Rome. It's hidden on a small street and was filled with locals getting to-go pints to take home. The staff was very helpful translating the flavors into English and even giving free samples to try. All their gelatos are super creamy and fresh. I tried the mascarpone e gentilini which has a rich, creamy flavor, pistachio which was one of the best I've had, nutella, which tastes exactly like it sounds, and coconut which was surprisingly refreshing. I got a small cone where they coat the inside with chocolate from the fountain. They then placed two different flavors of gelato and topped it off with a cookie and more chocolate! Come NOW to Come Il Latte! After eating gelato every single day in Italy I think this place had to be the best place in terms of flavor, service and value. The price here may be a little bit higher than others but you get the free extras of fresh chocolate sauce poured inside your cone, 2 scoops for piccolo and then all topped off with a cookie dipped in same hot chocolate sauce. The gelato has a smooth, creamier flavor than other shops but it was tasty especially when paired with the cone and cookie. Even though there were other locals walking about stuffing their faces with mounds of gelato, they all seemed to be coming from this shop. Now I know why! Get some!!! read more

I'm personally not usually a huge fan of gelato/ice cream but when you travel to Italy, gelato kind of becomes part of your daily diet. This is the 4th gelato store I've been to since I've arrived in Rome (5 days...#phatproblems). Anyways, this store is LEGIT! It's located in a small street and doesn't look too special from the outside - it blends in with the surrounding historical architecture. It was raining (ew) so my friends and I took refuge in this store. The store is small but the decor is stylish/simple/sleek. Milk bottles line up the shelves and there's two fountains that pour out a beautiful stream of melted dark chocolate and white chocolate. The walls behind the counter are blackboards with the very extensive menu written in Italian (they have crepes and milkshakes!! +points). Unlike other gelato stores, they don't display the gelato behind a transparent panel, but have it hidden underneath the counter so you can't see the flavors. I guess this adds to the mystery/coolness of this place but it was a struggle reading through the menu. Workers are friendly and helpful in recommending the popular flavors. I got hazelnut and coffee gelato in a cone - I usually hate eating out of cones because it's messy but this place pours chocolate (of your choice) into the cone! Yummmm and also it's the same price as in a cup so duh I'm going to get the beautiful chocolate covered waffle cone. After they scoop the gelato into the cone, they stick a chocolate covered biscotti on top KEY The gelato was def top three gelato I had in my life! Creamy, smooth, not too sweet. It was pure ecstasy - not to be overly dramatic or anything haha. They also have ice cream pops, tiramisu, and ice cream sandwiches in a freezer next to the counter. Since it was still raining, my friends and I decided to troll in the store for a while and damn so many customers. People just kept walking in and out - all spoke Italian so I'm assuming this place is pretty popular with the locals or Italians really have integrated gelato into their daily diet. Came in here for my mid-afternoon gelato in Rome. Certainly has a local feel to it. I felt as if I was the sole English speaker in the place - something I'm perfectly OK with. I got a chocolate filled cone with 2 flavors: mascarpone with chocolate and nuts, and caramel with Himalayan salt. Then had it covered with vanilla whipped cream and more chocolate sauce. Total 4£. I wish I had a spoon just because there was a lot of cream to get through before reaching the ice cream. Everything sorta mix and mashed together so I couldn't really differentiate between single flavors or pick up any nuisances. Regardless, the whole ice cream was pretty good. And the pool of warm fudge at the bottom of the cone was delicious. Would recommend this place, but maybe simply stick with a cup and ice cream if you want to focus on the actual gelato. Yes yes yes!!!! In the country of gelato I bet it is hard to stand out. After all, great quality cream and sugar will make any scoop delicious. And it is a hike to get to this place - but it is so worth it! No tourists, no crowds, just a dozen or so people sitting on benches outside, enjoying their delicious selection. Over 30 minutes or so we saw bunch of locals just checking in here - a delivery guy who parked his auto outside for a 15 min break, a mother of two, an older couple - all came in for an afternoon treat. Now, the gelato and sorbet... were heavenly! They had a selection of about 15 flavors and three sizes depending on the number of scoops. You also have a selection of a paper cup, sugar cone or waffle cone. The cones can be dipped in dark or white chocolate and they also offer to drizzle it on top of gelato or a small waffle cookie. Flavors took a while to process and understand, but staff is super friendly and offer many tastes before you order. And then there was just something special about this gelato... as I was sitting outside eating it, I could not be happier. Maybe it was all the people watching, maybe the deep flavors, maybe the fact that I didn't have to rush anywhere - but altogether it was one of the best experiences I had in Rome. read more

It was only 2 euros for a cone, and the beautiful interior was packed with people - so we thought we'd check this place out on our little gelato tour of Italy. Cute aesthetics aside, but the gelato was just okay! For the price they really pile on the gelato though - so it's definitely worth trying out. I got the banana and a sorbet flavor - I just felt like they were both kind of bland in flavor, I wish there was more of a punch of fruity flavor! Aptly named "Like Milk", this artisan gelato shop really does have very milky gelato. A small is 2.20€, and you get two flavors like most other gelaterias. I chose pistachio and salted caramel. Both flavors were good, but I thought the pistachio was better. The gelato is very milky just like the name suggests, and although the gelato was good, I think there are many better options in Rome. In a city so saturated with gelato, I'd rather head over to another gelateria such as La Romana, which is only a 5 minute walk away. read more

The creamiest, most delicious gelato. EVER. Dramatic, I know, but my experience was AMAZING! The BANANA flavor alone is worth it. I'm a chocolate/Nutella person and when I was deciding what flavor to compliment it, I thought, I like bananas in my Nutella crepes, so I went for it. When I took my first bite, it tasted just like FRESH BANANAS. Not artificial flavoring, actual banana! My boyfriend got coffee and vanilla, and when you can make your vanilla flavor the right amount of creaminess and flavor, you know you are legit.
