Pretty sure that we planned our trip back to Rome just so we could go to Come Il Latte! The shop workers are so friendly and the flavors are to die for. Absolutely worth a trip out of your way!!

Wow, WOW.... Best gelato/Ice Cream in Roma!!! This place is not in the touristy area of downtown, but very walkable. It is sooo worth it! The first time I went there, yep I did go back again and again, I got a Cup of Peanuts and Crunchy Chocolate, sooo good. After watching others ordered I realized I messed up. You need to get it in a cone!!! They take a sugar cone and pour chocolate in it, look at the video! Then scoop they the gelato on, then they ask you if you want cream on top, then, they ask if you want chocolate drizzled on top of the cream with a cookie, oh yea I do. The second and third time I got Sour Cherry and Chocolate in a cone! One of my favorites! If you are visiting Roma, and you like gelato you must go here! What are you waiting for!!!!

I would give Come Il Latte 10 stars if I could. Easily the best gelato I had during my 12 day trip all around Italy. I spent two nights in Rome so I obviously came here twice! The gelato was rich and creamy and very high quality. You won't find bright green pistachio gelato here that's for sure. They had a large selection of flavors ranging from the classics to some more innovative flavors like ricotta. They offer you cream, a biscuit, or a chocolate dipped biscuit as a topping with every order. The chocolate dipped biscuit was decadent and I loved how the chocolate solidified as it flowed over the cold gelato. It was outstanding. The staff was also incredibly kind to us. It's a small shop so during busy times, be prepared to wait outside on the street. But I assure it's worth it!!

This is a must on your gelato tour of Rome, and is certainly among the best in Rome. The gelato is silky smooth, and super creamy. The flavors are rich and easy to savor. We went back multiple days in a row to try a multitude. Their cioccolate fondente (dark chocolate) is far and away my favorite. The others, like salted caramel, strattiacella, ricotta and pear, and simple vanilla are also exceptional. Give them a try!!

Really yummy. I had the Giandua hazelnut flavor. My husband had the Arancini peanut butter flavor and the café coffee flavor. The coffee flavor was very prominent like espresso. This was the first gelato place. We tried in Italy that offered you to put some chocolate sauce on top if you wanted it, they didn't charge for this

When I think back on the gelato I had in Italy, I think about Come il Latte. Perhaps recency bias, as it was the last one that I had but I believe it's just that good. The shop is cool and modern. The staff is super helpful and proud of their gelato. I had pistachio and chocolate and the flavors were wonderful. Truly a decadent gelato. They pass the test of having small batches in stainless steel covered containers. More importantly, it tastes amazing!

Some of the best gelato that I had while in Italy. It's a cute unassuming shop away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas. They spoke English so that was helpful to figure out what we wanted. Pistachio and salted caramel were both so delicious. Although it's messier in a cone it always tastes better this way!

This is truly the best gelato I've ever had! It's packed with so much flavour and the finish is so smooth!! They're open until 12 AM and the line for it is always long! There are a variety of tours to take while on holiday. Some are location related, some are good related, and some should be gelato related. Diners tip: you will find plenty of gelato places throughout Italy. The key is to only go to the artisanal gelato places. Trust me, there is a difference. I highly encourage you to create your own gelato tour in and around any region that you were spending time in. You will be amazed at the flavors, the quality, and the artistry behind really good gelato. We stopped here late at night, because what is a day without gelato?! The customer service is absolutely phenomenal. We were graciously greeted, and made to feel welcomed. Interestingly, enough, you pay for your order prior to making any selections. I've noticed that this seems to be a fairly common theme with the gelato stores. I'm not certain why, but it's where I've seen consistency in business operations. Anyway, you pay for the size that you're interested in and then Select your flavors. I've noticed that most gelato shops, and this one is no exception, have their own specialty flavors, but also offer some interesting seasonal flavors. The shop was particularly generous in allowing us to taste some of the flavors prior to our selections. Call mom and they were happy to make flavor pairing suggestions. It could be, because I had an exceptionally large dinner, which my motto is have no regrets, but I found the portions to be extremely generous, and in truth fashion, I wasn't able to finish my gelato. And the flavor profiles are consistently delicious bite after bite, and the quality ingredients Are obvious in every bite This is truly a hidden gem because we ended up taking transportation and walking to find this off the beaten path store. Was it worth it?! Absolutely! Enjoy life and have gelato!

Far and away the most delicious and velvety gelato in Rome... possibly in Italy. The liquid chocolate is pointless, as is the fresh waffle cone -- the gelato holds its own and needs nothing extra. Entirely as good as the reviews and stars imply. It's a small space, so you may not be able to eat inside (there's a few chairs in the corner but otherwise definitely for takeaway), but if you're interested in handcrafted Italian gelato do not miss Come Il Latte! Hazelnut and milk chocolate with drizzled dark chocolate and a waffle cone... absolutely outstanding. I'm not saying it's ruined all other ice cream for me--but I'm not NOT saying that. read more

The best gelato I've ever had. The cones are filled first with white or dark chocolate, then the creamiest, most scrumptious gelato is scooped in. Finally, a bit more chocolate is drizzled over top. This place is packed on a weekend, but was quiet the (several!) times we went that at night The staff is absolutely lovely. We were remembered by them because we went so often during our stay. It's a good thing I don't live close by- their gelato is addicting. read more

Best gelato in Rome. Although this location is tucked away, it is truly a hidden gem. I decided to go outside of my comfort zone on this visit and went with the Watermelon flavour with chocolate chips. Although it seemed odd when first making the decision, this flavour did not disappoint!(none of that fake watermelon shit you would get at other places). Overall, I would recommend that you don't fall into the typical touristy gelato traps, located near trevi or the Spanish steps, but would recommend you take a short walk to find Come Il latte and give it a try...it will not disappoint! read more

Delicious! Tried the dark chocolate, hazelnut, and ricotta with fig flavors. The cone was dipped in chocolate and I got whipped cream. The staff was very friendly and understood my broken Italian. Best gelato I've had so far in Italy. The experience was wonderful! First you pay for what you want then you walk over to the gelato bar, if you get a cone you get the option of them pouring chocolate(dark or white) inside of the cone, you pick your gelato flavors, you get the option of whipped cream or more chocolate on top of the gelato and then they top it with a wafer. Excellent artisanal gelato at a reasonable price. We had been craving gelato for 2 days and had not passed a Gelateria since we got the craving the night before (crazy to think in Rome, but true). We looked up a place near our hotel and found come ii latte and it was open late. We rushed over and were not disappointed. Great selection of fun flavors made in small batches. And Prices were great! We ended up with 2 cones for less than €6. I had the hazelnut chocolate (rich and the balance between the chocolate and hazelnut was great. Often the chocolate overpowers but it did not in this), pistachio (nutty, rich and creamy. No green gelato pistachios. Just nutty flavors and good size pieces mixed in) and lemon ricotta almond (mildly tart. The ricotta gave it a rich creaminess and nice pieces of almond throughout. My daughter went with cookies and cream and was disappointed. She expected Oreos and vanilla but instead was treated to a mildly sweet mascarpone base with a pieces of a nutty cookie. I enjoyed it. But the real winner was the red orange. It was tart and refreshing and not overly sweet like some lemon gelatos can be. We will be back tomorrow through Sunday. read more

So these guys are that famous gelato places or as Americans say ice cream. For less than 5 euros we got 2 cones 2 scoops of whatever mix or flavor you wanted, go for the vanilla and white chocolate, and got chocolate drizzle inside and over the top. It tasted pretty amazing and probably the best gelato we had ever. Fresh flavor and not too sweet or over the top. GO GO GO read more

One of the best gelatos I've ever had, in and out of Italy! They start with a homemade waffle cone, as evidenced by the aroma escaping into the streets and luring you in. You can then have melted dark or white chocolate drizzled into the cone before the gelato is scooped onto the cone. The gelato is so fresh and soft, unlike others I've head which are more firm and taste pre-made. You can then have white cream (whip cream) or vanilla cream on top of the gelato followed by more chocolate drizzle on top. Absolutely must have when in Rome. read more

This place is outstanding! We came here on our first two nights in Rome and will probably come back on the next three! Delicious! Very fair prices too. They start with choice of warm chocolate or white chocolate in the cone and then the gelato on top! Followed by more warm deliciousness of warm chocolate on top! Friendly service too. By far our favorite Gelato in Italy. Just go. We literally tried 10 different places while in Italy and this is by far the best. The flavors were so good, the whipped cream was delicious and their little waffle cookie is awesome. I wish there was one near where I live, Id be super fat. I forget how much it costs but who cares. Low prices, incredible gelato, friendly, english speaking employees. I got a cone with three scoops (the scoops are quite small compared to an American ice cream place so this is not as terrifying as it sounds). Perhaps should have let it melt a little first because there wasn't really any gelato in the cone when I was done! read more

We were in Rome for a few days and determined to eat the best food we possibly could. Come Il Latte came through for us. We tried gelato and some kind of sandwich biscuits dipped in chocolate. The sandwich biscuits were my favorite dessert in Rome, and we had a lot of good dessert. The food was also super reasonably priced. Note that there isn't anywhere to sit, really, (besides a couple of benches outside) but it's completely worth going and standing if you have to. Highly recommend. read more

Not the friendliest staff. Tend to be a little rude HOWEVER the gelato... words can not describe it. We were there for three days and went there twice. The first day we arrived we saw a local gelato and had some, decent. Then we stumbled here and were blown away. Second day we decided to go to another one we saw great reviews. It wasn't bad but it wasn't come II late so we came one more time before taking the train. Spectacular I tell you. Pistachio is tooooo die fooor!!!!!! And the mango. Anything really. When they ask you if you want chocolate, you want that chocolate! read more

When we arrived people were outside on the seats enjoying their gelato or ice cream. They fill your cone with white or regular chocolate first. They were helpful with nut allergies - confirming ingredients and then opening a new batch with a new spatula. A small has 2 scoops. They give you a cookie on top and will dip it with chocolate or cream. When we left the place was packed. They have multiple servers on hand. read more

This was my second time traveling throughout Italy and this is probably my favorite gelato I've ever had. Perfect consistency and great flavor. I had the salted caramel and dark chocolate and my dad had the milk chocolate and cookies and cream. The cone was also delicious and you have the option to fill it with chocolate or white chocolate (which you should). Overall it was delicious and we plan on returning before we leave! read more

In the past, I knew of Gelateria Navona, just a few doors up from the actual piazza, and that was…read moremy go-to place for gelato in Rome. Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.

And very likely using a warm process. Very clean, payment / ordering process is efficient. That's where I say everything is good. The gelato - really not for me. It's very very sweet for my tastes. Which might be fine as it's nothing I would crave to eat more than once in a while - and not more than a few spoonfuls at a time. Not to worry, that's all you're getting anyway as the scoopers seem trained to smooth on your gelato like a thin coat of spackle, without ever filling the hole. That's all. I have to try some more around Rome to see if I'm bringing my untrained perspectives into this forum. As they say.... When in Rome.....

It's a tiny little place, but the gelato is fantastic, the service patient, and the cold wall above the entryway is worth the price of admission on a hot day. Small cups for EUR 3.5, medium for 4.5, and more than worth it. There's no good outdoor seating (some steps across the street), and the line to the door can be long ... but still worth it.

Now it's day two in Rome and I still hadn't had any gelato, even though I've walked past what feels like a hundred shops. So what would a fat man from Alabama do? Turn right back around, of course--because nothing says "this is probably good" like a crowd stacked up like cordwood waiting for ice cream. I finally make it up to the counter and the young guy looks at me and says in English, "What do you want?" Well... I can't pronounce half of what I'm looking at, so I just show him a picture of his own menu I had snapped a minute earlier. He smiles, reads it out loud, and then asks, "What size?" At that point my brain is a mess, so I mumble "medium" and point at the cup sitting by the register. One problem down. Then I move into the next line--about a dozen people ahead of me--and when it's finally my turn again, I just point at my receipt like, "It's on there somewhere, I think." I can't read Italian, so I'm fully operating on faith at this point. The guy looks up and says, louder this time: "What flavor?" Flavor? That was not the question I was prepared for. So I point back at the picture again and say, "Whatever that is... I want that one." He scoops it up, loads it into the cup, and sends me on my way. Now comes the real test--taste it--but there are people everywhere, so I grab a quick photo first, because priorities. First bite? Hallelujah. That was the moment. That gelato hit and I just kept walking down the sidewalk like a man who somehow figured out how to survive ordering ice cream in Italy. Seriously, it was excellent. And if I get turned around again like today, I already know where I'm going back.

I found this gelato shop while visiting the Colosseum. The place is super cute and the staff is friendly. The quality of the gelato is amazing, and it is by far the best I have tried in Rome. Everything seems super fresh and of the best quality. The shop is very clean and it is located in a side street in a very nice neighborhood. We tried the chocolate, milk, cookie and cream, raspberry, and lemon gelatos. They were all very good, but I would mix the lemon and raspberry gelatos together, as I felt they were too strong on their own, but together they are just perfect. We also tried the affogato, which was great. The only part of the experience that I did not like was that they used coffee pods for the espresso. In Italy, I expect espresso to be made by a real espresso machine, especially when you are in a nice, fancy establishment. Overall, I would give this gelato shop a 5 out of 5 stars for the gelato and the ambiance. The service was also good, but I would have preferred that they used a real espresso machine for the affogato. Ratings Gelato: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Affogato: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Recommendations The chocolate gelato is a must-try. The milk gelato is also very good. The cookie and cream gelato is delicious.
