    Pistachio Gelato
    Molly L.

I had the Pistachio Gelato ... great flavor ... had the actual pistachios chopped up in it ... I personally prefer just flavor; no nuts but overall very tasty!!

Saw that they advertised that they are top 10 best gelatos in Rome so had to try it out. I got a large cone that came with chocolate and nuts on the side as well as 3 scoops of gelato. All the flavors I got were delicious and they definitely deserve top gelatos. We also got a Cannoli, the cream was tasty but I felt the shell to be just okay. I'd get the gelato again, but not sure about the cannoli.

My friend is eating her cannolo right now and saying "give it a 5 star review!" This place is small but mighty (in flavor). The gelato is delish and in small containers with lids, not the tourist crap. The cannolo was so fresh. Empty shell and he filled it at the counter for us-- the only way to do it.

Stopped here multiple times while staying in Rome. Would not go to any of the other "gelato" places that are meant for tourists as their gelato is not real as it is not in a tin. Gelato here is EXTREMELY tasty and very affordable! Make sure to try a cannoli as well!

Such a wonderful gelato shop! The flavors are so unique, I had the Cremino nocciola con cremoso scuro a strati + mango - random combination but I wanted a chocolatey flavor and a fruity one - and a cannoli. Gelato was creamy and so flavorful. And the cannoli was surprisingly yummy, I devoured the whole thing within a few minutes. The gal working, not sure what her name was but she was pretty young, was so sweet and took the time to chat with my boyfriend and I. We had a great conversation and I think that really topped off my experience here!

Wow! What incredible gelato! I traveled all around Italy at ate A LOT of gelato, and this was by far my favorite. It's the real deal! The creamiest of the creamy. And the flavors were so unique. I will honestly never forget my experience eating gelato here! I had the limone and the capriccio, and my husband had the pistachio and the vanilla. They were all excellent! The capriccio was my favorite, with the limone a close second.

Great gelato. Recommend the hazelnut, tiramisu and strawberry.

Great Gelateria! It is located just several blocks from the Roma Termini train station and the nearby hotels. They have a large flavor selection and the flavors are incredible. The gelato was legit and very tasty (definitely not ice cream being passed off as gelato as you'll find at some places). Price was very reasonable and more bang for your buck than the gelateria's near the tourist attractions. We didn't feel like this was a tourist trap (with the really pretty gelato that has no flavor) like many of the gelaterias near the big tourist attractions tended to be. This was the best gelato we had when staying in Italy. We ended up coming back here each night after dinner because it was so good, especially after a hot day walking around the city. Highly recommend if visiting and you happen to pass through the area or are staying nearby!

Fresh gelato that's open late at night! We were so lucky to find a shop close to our hotel and offers a great variety of flavors and also in a closed container (fresher and healthier).

Delicious! We went on several occasions on our vacation to Rome. Try the pistachio or the ricotta with walnuts, fig and honey!

Everything tastes super fresh and creamy, and the flavors feel really authentic without being overly sweet or artificial. What I liked most is how consistent it is--whether you go for classics like pistachio or something more indulgent, it always tastes rich and high quality. It's the kind of spot where you can tell they really care about what they're making. The vibe is simple and focused on the gelato itself, not anything flashy, which honestly fits perfectly for a place like this. Always worth stopping by if you're in Rome and want proper gelato.

And very likely using a warm process. Very clean, payment / ordering process is efficient. That's where I say everything is good. The gelato - really not for me. It's very very sweet for my tastes. Which might be fine as it's nothing I would crave to eat more than once in a while - and not more than a few spoonfuls at a time. Not to worry, that's all you're getting anyway as the scoopers seem trained to smooth on your gelato like a thin coat of spackle, without ever filling the hole. That's all. Expecting it to be there one year, I walked over to Piazza Navona and Gelateria Navona had evidently closed. I would then get gelato here and there. I then learned that Giolitti is a long standing gelateria and it's also in the historic center. I filed the name away in my head. Then, one day, I happened to walk right in front of it without even looking for it, so I went in. Giolitti is popular and it can be crowded. I'm going to say that I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. You pay at a counter first, deciding on what you want and how much of it, such as scoops and whether it will be in a cup or a cone. Once up at the counter, they don't rush you, which surprised me. I don't take that much time since I don't experiment much, but I still appreciate the courtesy. The price is roughly what everyone else in the historic center is charging. I always opt for the gelato it in a cup so you can "control" the dripping. The gelato - a mix of dark chocolate and two citrus flavors - was "molto buono." That said, just because it's so popular, I'm not going to downgrade Giolitti for it and complain about the crowds. You downgrade gourmet donut places in the U.S. where their fame has gone to their heads. There is also a spacious salon with nicer decor in which you can eat inside. At this point, Giolitti is really the only gelateria in Rome whose name I remember. I would gladly go back and I recommend it.

But I stopped in my tracks because I saw a line wrapped up 50+ people deep, all waiting just to get inside and order. Now it's day two in Rome and I still hadn't had any gelato, even though I've walked past what feels like a hundred shops. So what would a fat man from Alabama do? Turn right back around, of course--because nothing says "this is probably good" like a crowd stacked up like cordwood waiting for ice cream. I finally make it up to the counter and the young guy looks at me and says in English, "What do you want?" Well... I can't pronounce half of what I'm looking at, so I just show him a picture of his own menu I had snapped a minute earlier. He smiles, reads it out loud, and then asks, "What size?" At that point my brain is a mess, so I mumble "medium" and point at the cup sitting by the register. One problem down. Then I move into the next line--about a dozen people ahead of me--and when it's finally my turn again, I just point at my receipt like, "It's on there somewhere, I think." I can't read Italian, so I'm fully operating on faith at this point. The guy looks up and says, louder this time: "What flavor?" Flavor? That was not the question I was prepared for. So I point back at the picture again and say, "Whatever that is... I want that one." He scoops it up, loads it into the cup, and sends me on my way. Now comes the real test--taste it--but there are people everywhere, so I grab a quick photo first, because priorities. First bite? Hallelujah. That was the moment. That gelato hit and I just kept walking down the sidewalk like a man who somehow figured out how to survive ordering ice cream in Italy. Seriously, it was excellent. And if I get turned around again like today, I already know where I'm going back.
