Best gelato I've ever had! They have lots of options to try. I was able to get three scoops on a cone and they all tasted delicious. They have seating inside and the guy who served me was very helpful. I wish I had more time in Rome as I would've loved to try them again before I left.

Had a great experience at the La Ramona. The staff was friendly, but matter of fact. They also had a great selection of flavors that were quite delicious all at a fair price. I especially appreciated the cones as well as them putting chocolate inside said cones.
Fantastic creamy gelato. Our Uber driver said he and the kids think this is the best in Rome. Sold.
Yummy gelato! My family and I went here while on vacation in Rome. The line was long but went very fast. They have an efficient system! I ordered the vanilla gelato and it was yummy! There are other places we thought were better but they seemed to have unique flavors and it was a fun experience overall! :)
Yooooo this place has some bomb gelato!!! Make sure you line up at the register first to pay before you try to order. We tried pistachio, biscotto de nona, and cremino al cafe and all flavors were fire. Definitely recommend this spot for gelato and they are open late till midnight.

Love this place. The fact they have a nut allergy sheet and are SO accommodating made this mammas heart full. My son was the happiest as many places could not guarantee nut free options or cross contamination. This place gave us a sheet that showed nut free options, made us watch, they used clean new spoons for every scoop. Nut free gelato were dark chocolate and vanilla which my son said was the best ! They have a variety of flavors to choose from. The gelato's were yummy. We had hazelnut , matcha and chocolates which had nut. The cones are filled with chocolate fondue and then gelato scoops. It is SO yummy. They have to go options as well. Famous for their cakes as well. There was a line of people grabbing desserts to go. I was so full from the gelatos if not I would have tried some desserts as well. Highly recommend this place for the best Gelato options.

The place was super clean and everyone was waiting patiently. Fast and friendly staff and the prices don't break the bank! The gelato was excellent! Chefs kiss.
Great gelato spot, pretty close to the train station. It was busy but the line moved quick. Lots of different flavors to choose from. So many options to choose from and I didn't know which one to get since they were all so good and decadent. So I decided since it was my last night in Italy before my flight back, I went for the 4 scoops with a cone, because why not? I had no regrets lol. I'd come back - staff is super friendly and the shop is very clean.

Ok, here comes the ex-pat with a ho-hum review of what seems like an iconic solid 5 star gelateria. It's fun inside, flavors are incentive. And they may even mix well. And very likely using a warm process. Very clean, payment / ordering process is efficient. That's where I say everything is good. The gelato - really not for me. It's very very sweet for my tastes. Which might be fine as it's nothing I would crave to eat more than once in a while - and not more than a few spoonfuls at a time. Not to worry, that's all you're getting anyway as the scoopers seem trained to smooth on your gelato like a thin coat of spackle, without ever filling the hole. That's all. I have to try some more around Rome to see if I'm bringing my untrained perspectives into this forum. As they say.... When in Rome..... read more

Probably an unpopular opinion but this place wasn't for me. Expect a serious wait when you get here. Being a top rated place I suppose? We waited probably 45 minutes just to get some gelato. The place is beautiful and has a great presentation but the line is ridiculous. Unfortunately the flavors aren't in English so you'll have to do your best to Google translate or have someone that can understand English translate to you but remember you have a huge line of people behind you. In my opinion, of all the gelato places I tried during my time in Italy, this was my least favorite. For those of you who don't know the difference between gelato and ice cream, I guess the best way to describe it is that it's creamier. Is there such a thing as too creamy? If so, this place was it. It kind of grossed me out how creamy it was. It was like eating cold ground up mush. Fairly decadent flavors but the mush pretty much melted right away. Not worth the wait or the hype. This was THE best gelato we had on our trip! I was on the hunt for an authentic gelato place that has the gelato placed inside the metal containers rather than out in the open. I found an article on Condé Nast and noticed it was walking distance from our hotel! We walked to/from our hotel (Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel) to burn some calories before/after our delicious treat. The ordering system is quite different than in the US. First, you let the cashier know what size cone/cup you would like. Then, you take your receipt to the worker behind the counter and let them know which flavors you'd like. Lastly, they will ask if you want the chocolate syrup inside the cone and at first I was hesitant but the worker said it was good and he wasn't wrong about that! The pistachio was my favorite flavor! If we ever visit Rome again, we will definitely make a visit back here! read more

Genuinely the BEST gelato place on Rome. Everything is in Italian and it has the covered gelato containers, so you KNOW it's authentic. (Additionally, they also swap out flavors seasonally and for specials). But even so, once you taste the different flavors (can mix and match) it is immaculate! I've never had gelato like this before, and I am afraid, especially once I go back home, I never will. The workers were also so kind. I had one worker who I asked were the best flavors to pair with this one flavor I chose. I told him I was looking for some sort of chocolate-y / coffee combination and he provided me with a wonderful three tier cone with panna on top. Especially since all the flavors were in Italian, I loved that he just told me what he thought was best. Amazing experience! read more
Excellent. Coffee cream is super good too with ruby and dark chocolate. Servers were a little short but I think bc of the language barrier. I wanted affogato but it comes with hot chocolate not espresso. Fun vibe. Popular. read more

Just a short walk from our hotel, La Romana offers a TON of different gelato flavor combinations! You pay for your cone (or cup) ahead of time which was about 3 euro. Then you have a choice of chocolate or white chocolate drizzle inside the cone, choice of gelato, toppings, and even whipped cream! Talk about a decadent dessert! I thought that was a killer price for the quantity. The gelato was rich and creamy but not overly heavy. They do have a lovely case of other desserts including cakes and pies for purchase. I could not stop eating gelato the whole trip and we were very impressed with La Romana in Rome! read more

I initially came here because they offer a single origin dark chocolate gelato. As someone who is obsessed with chocolate and gelato, it was clearly a must. But honestly, that was blown out of the water by the coffee marscapone gelato. it was just soooooo good. Smooth, creamy, amazing flavor! read more
WOW, this place is Amazing! You must come here to try their gelatos if you visit Rome. Best gelato I've had in Italy so far. The servers were all super nice and helped us find our favorite flavors. They let us try out a bunch of flavors before we decided. The different choices were PACKED with flavor! I would definitely recommend to get the Croccante Della Nonna and the Biscotto! They also drizzled chocolate or white chocolate on the bottom of the cone, which made the last bite awesome! They also put whipped cream to top it all off. Worth it? YES, we only paid 3 € for a medium cone with 3 flavors! read more

I feel like this place often gets a bad rep among the plethora of gelato placed in Rome because it's a chain. It's not located very close to the city center however so it's far from those tourist traps. I trusted the reviews and decided to visit and have a taste for myself. I am so glad I did because to this day I have yet to experience gelato this heavenly. Nothing so far has come close. I frequented La Romana, many, many, many times during my study abroad experience and each experience was better than the last. Their flavors change every so often because they're made fresh but it's hard to go wrong with any of them. Half of the time I didn't quite know what I was ordering but I was never disappointed with my selections. The gelato is creamy, unlike anything you can imagine and out of this world! The second best part may be the chocolate fountain they keep running to fill your cone with. So even when you're done your treat, you have a pleasant surprise at the end. Topping gelato with homemade panna is pretty common and definitely something you do not want to skip out on! Do not be disappointed by the long lines or the language barrier! The lines move fast and the staff is super friendly and most of the time English speaking. They may also let you try a few flavors if you're unsure but be sure to be conscious of the other people waiting in line since it does tend to get very busy. I can't say enough good things about this place, it is hands down my favorite gelato shop I have visited and I've visited A LOT. Make the trip to it and you will not be dissapointed! read more

Amazing gelato! Made fresh and it is nice and creamy. The mango flavor is a must and taste just like a fresh mango. The banana flavor was good but the texture was a little too mushy. Will definitely come back to try new flavors. read more

This is our first gelato stop in Rome and I must say it's amazing! I thought I needed to go further out to search for amazing gelato but I'd like to say the gelato here is so light, fresh and flavorful! What I'm trying to say is go try it! Any flavor will taste great! I loved the hazelnut and pistachio. The lemon, chocolate are also great flavors! I want to go back to try the other flavors! Also I have to say the folks helping us were so amazingly polite, with smiles, and welcoming! read more

Best gelato in Rome! Comes with optional hot fudge in the cone and different flavoured whipped cream to top it off. The fiordilatte is a must. I am not a huge fan of sweets/desserts but this was worth the 55 minute walk. read more
