Oh my goodness. My husband and I recently stayed at a hotel around the corner, and after stopping at several gelaterias around the city, we realized this one was a few steps away from our room. To begin, the gelato was among the most affordable we found: 2.50 for a small. Secondly, they have a dark chocolate and a white chocolate fountain running constantly to fill your cone with. Third, the dark chocolate and the hazelnut gelato flavors left me speechless. Fourth, they top your gelato with your choice of traditional or coffee whipped cream. And finally, a fresh little cookie dipped in one of the chocolate fountains as garnish. We stopped multiple times... each day. Plus, they're open late. If you are in Rome, this little Termini gelateria is well worth the walk. read more

I was wondering why people would take the time to review a gelateria. It's all good isn't it? Yes, but Gelateria "Come Il Latte" IS the best! After a week in Rome we had a little euro left over on our last night so I yelped for gelato near my hotel. The line out the door confirmed the yelp reviews. Chocolate is first poured into your cone. After your gelato is scooped it's topped with whipped cream and a biscuit. This gelato was superior and cost less than we had elsewhere during the week. This is hands down the best gelato in Rome. Artisanal gelato with some standard & boutique flavors. That tiny little shop knows what they're doing. Soooooo good! After a generous scoop they finished up our cup with whipped cream & a chocolate dipped wafer. Expect to wait in line, but the skilled scoopers know what they are doing, so it moves fast. This review is for pistachio. I spent 2 weeks in Italy sampling pistachio at least once per day across Rome and southern Italy (yes, I am paying for that now...at home eating celery sticks!) come il latte...seriously this place is amazing. You get a cone, then they put a warm chocolate sauce in the bottom of the cone (if I recall, I think they will ask if you want it, and trust me, you do). Then you get 2-3 scoops of gelato, same or varying flavors. Then they stick a wafer into the top scoop and will drizzle it with the warm chocolate sauce. I promise you, you will not regret going to this place for one second. It is further away from the tourist spots. I went three nights in a row after I found this spot. read more

The absolute best gelato we had on our trip to Italy. We liked it so much we went twice (and we were only in Rome for two days). I mean, they have chocolate flowing (dark or white) for the inside of your cone!! The gelato is so creamy and flavorful. The place is adorable to boot. We did a fast tour of three of the highest-rated gelateria in Roma: Gelaleria del Teatro, Giolitti, and Come il Latte, trying them back-to-back, while recollections were fresh. Giolitti was a major letdown, a total tourist trap; Gelateria del Teatro and Come il Latte were both a delight, in surprisingly different ways. Gelateria del Teatro had the most intense flavors we've ever experienced in gelato; Come il Latte offered the creamiest gelato we've ever had ... almost buttery. Like massage cream for the tongue!! My wife had the caramel with Himalayan pink salt and the artisanal hazelnut; the caramel was awesome and the hazelnut a wonderful blend of creamy texture and strong nutty flavor. I had pistachio and coffee. The coffee was like a jolt of espresso and cream; the coffee flavor was strong enough that I would almost have expected to taste the espresso grounds in the espresso. The pistachio was less intense than at Gelateria del Teatro, but plenty rich and much creamier than at Teatro. Unlike the others, there was not much of a line, and we could see the "gelato factory" team hard at work in the bback room ... they make their gelato on-site. I tried multiple gelato places during my time and Italy and the gelato from this place definitely is one to remember. The texture of the gelato is thick and creamy and the flavors are great- I had vanilla and pistachio and found them to taste pretty authentic and not very artificial. They also have the option to fill your cone with chocolate, which made the treat even more indulgent! Definitely a must have in terms of gelato if you're in Rome! read more

We spent almost a month in Rome and this was hands down our favorite gelato stop (and trust us, we had a lot of gelato)! They drizzle your gelato with your choice of white, milk or dark chocolate and give you a wafer in it! It's so cute and so reasonably priced! Not to mention, they have so many flavors to chose from- it's hard to pick just a few each time you go! Their pistachio gelato is on point! To start off sorry for the long review but I'm just writing what I would've liked to have known before I went in. Unfortunately for Come Il Latte they don't get my 5 stars but they were so very close. This place is definitely the best Gelato place I've ever tasted and the constant flow of people until 11 pm definitely made me feel like I was truly eating at a local favorite. But my only problems with the store is that their english cream topping is just too overpowering (my brother would disagree) for the flavors that I ordered and the white chocolate topping tasted a little off for my own flavor comination. That is the only real faults I had with this place. It was much better than Grom because I ordered the Caramel and Pistachio at both places and Come Il Latte's was just flat out better. So here is the ordering process for all you over preparers like myself. First they ask you what size (medium is 3 scoops), then depending on the amount of people you either have to pay now or at the end (don't worry they'll tell you), next you tell them you would like a cone and they will ask you if you want chocolate in it (dark or white) and you of course say yes I want chocolate in my cone! Then they will ask for your flavors which I normally respond with picking Pistachio and another flavor I like and then just ask them to pick the third. They will then ask you if you want cream on top and I just went with the Vanilla because the first time the English Cream was too intense for my taste. They will then surprise you again and ask if you want more chocolate to top it all off so again you respond with yes I want some more freaking chocolate and they get a thin waffle cookie and top it all off with the chocolate. I would recommend getting the Salted Caramel with the Pistachio and just tell them to pick a third flavor because I can't read Italian to know what flavor is what. Also another good pick of flavor combination was the Ricotta (I know it sounds weird but it's to die for) mixed with Pistachio and ask for the Lemon one that complements the Ricotta. I would also recommend getting a few extra napkins or a packet of baby wipes if you go in the summer since everything melts in Rome in the summer. Overall I paid 3 Euro for 3 scoops of gelato, a filled chocolate cone, a dab or cream, and more chocolate drizzled on top and then a thin cookie stuck on top to make it all come together. So yeah it was worth it. read more

Wish we had found this place on our first day here! Gelato was wonderful and the employees very nice. They have fountains of melted dark or white chocolate and will add some to your cone before filling it with gelato and to the cookie they put on top. My only suggestion would be to open for breakfast- so we can get some more before we have to leave for the airport (haha). read more

This is the best Gelato/Ice Cream I have eaten in my life. The flavors are fantastic, the sauces (chocolate, white chocolate) are equally delicious, and the service is great as well. We went here more than once per day on our trip after discovering it because it was so good (and it was way out of the way for us). I highly recommend stopping here. This spot is more known to the Romans than the tourists so you may not read about it, but it's definitely the real deal (that also means no ridiculously long lines (well, sometimes)! I hope to be back again when I travel to Italy next. read more

Go there. The BEST gelato in Rome. I went there on a cold night in December but was definitely worth it. Try creme, salty caramel and ricotta limone. The location is in between Galleria Borghese and Termini. Not too far of walking distance from either place but bus # 910 goes by. read more

Fantastic little shop! I went here twice while in Rome and made a third special stop during a train connection. The gelato is extremely creamy and flavorful.
