New Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond!! I love the interior of the restaurant, it is super aesthetic with the wood themed tables and decoration. Pretty much on the same level of Anh and Chi In terms of aesthetics, I would say. I ordered the Pho Saigon for myself, the broth was excellent! It is sweet and delightful, I can tell they didn't use msg in it at all. The meat quality was really good as well, tender and juicy. However, I didn't like the noodles at all. It was overcooked and way too soft for my liking, it's also hard to eat them since it breaks too easily. I also got the salad roll but its quite small for the price and there weren't many ingredients in it. The lavender cooler was probably the best thing I got, it's really refreshing! Overall it's not a bad restaurant but it is quite pricey for the portion given. Will visit in the future when they improve on their menu items! read more

This place reminds me of Anh and Chi in Vancouver! It's not your typical rundown Vietnamese restaurant with just noodles and rice options. The decor is very modern and spacious, makes you want to stay there! Service was friendly and prompt and food came out fairly quickly. Pricing here is higher than your typical Vietnamese restaurant which is expected! Came here with a group of 7 people so we got to share several dishes. My favourite was the chicken wings so crispy and flavourful !! The honey butter tasted like the Korean chips ! Also enjoyed the papaya salad which was very fresh and had pork & shrimp included in it. Had the curry chicken rice which was on the sweeter side, so wasn't a big fan. The vermicelli bowl was good but nothing super outstanding. Finally had the their BBH, portion definitely wasn't as big as usual but flavours were good and quite a bit of meat! However definitely had better at other places. Been wanting to try this spot for a minute. Yes, it's a little pricier than your traditional pho spot but the ingredients used, flavors, drinks and ambience is worth the little extra. Bun Bo Hue was fire. Seafood spring roll was $4.50 for 1pc cut in half but was fire. Papaya salad was super fire. Chicken wings were super fire. Overall good experience with an awesome staff. Technically it's not a BBH because I subbed it for Pho instead. BUT I love their noods and how it's not the common thinner noods you get at other places. _ I always order a BBH when I go eat pho and I would say this is probably my fave for a few reasons 1. The beef is not chewy and you can tell it's good quality so it justifies the higher price point compared to average Vietnamese restaurants 2. I'm not dying of thirst at all after eating and drinking the soup so hurray for legit soup 3. The chili oil was bomb but doesn't overpower the flavour of the soup _ I have to say the decor and interior design is beautiful and I get an Asian vibe plus cleanliness. CoM Vietnamese is legitimately the best Pho place in the Lower Mainland. I'm a huge Pho enthusiast and have visited many pho spots from Abbotsford to North Van. This is DEFINITELY worth it. The noodles are thicker and so smooth, the spring rolls are amazing and they got alcohol! Their cocktails are great, and the servers are so nice. In all the pho places I've been I have not witnessed such great service. Pho takes a little longer than the average place, but you can taste it in their food, this is not your average Vietnamese spot, this is a gem. You leave not feeling like you downed a gallon of msg and oil, and you feel great. I notice a few people complaining about price, which is confusing. I think the price was great, it's slightly more than a dirty, rude service, average pho spot, but you get a great environment, great food quality and service. read more

This is the first review I've written on here if that tells you anything. Very disappointed. The place looks nice, and the service was decent but if the most important aspect about a restaurant to you is the food, I would stay away. The food was extremely mediocre, I'd even say a bit below average without considering the price. I don't mind paying extra for great food, but I left feeling like they had stuck their hand in my pocket and stolen an extra $30 on top of what it should've cost for something this quality. The pho was pretty bland, and we got a side dish of brocolli that cost $15, which we thought would be something special. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. It was LITERALLY a plate of under-seasoned plate of broccoli and garlic. I could've easily cooked something better for under $2. To add insult to injury, the drink we ordered came after we already finished the entree. In retrospect I should've sent it back, but I don't like causing a scene at restaurants so we just accepted it. I'm actually really surprised this place has over 3 stars. My friends wanted me to try Vietnamese food, so we found this gem. Very nice atmosphere at the restaurant. Looks rustic, good for conversations! The music didn't interfere with any conversation. Wasnt very busy when we went, worked out perfectly as the service was quick. Order came within 10 minutes of ordering. It was fantastically tasty. And a great way to get introduced to the cuisine. Rather disappointing. The atmosphere and decor is quite modern and chic. Food was slow in coming out and not all at once. Additionally, one of the items we ordered wasn't inputted properly therefore was given a wrong dish. When asked how long the wait would be to refire, was told it would take quite a while. It was already quite close to closing time by that point, so we took it. The pho saigon was average, bit oilier for our taste. The vietnamese crepe was quite good and portion size was reasonable. The pork stew galangal was the worst though, a tiny pot that wasn't even half full with most of the meat just being pieces of fat and the oil film on the top was just unappetizing to look at. This modern looking Vietnamese restaurant menu focuses on traditional Southern Vietnamese cuisine - just how Grandma makes it. And in case you were wondering, the name Co'm means "rice" in Vietnamese. The 75 seater restaurant features tables, booth seats, and bar area with an impressive cocktail program. Come summer 2019 you will also be able to enjoy their 20 seat patio. Where To Park? There are plenty of free parking in the Tempo Building off Alderbridge, street parking on Cedarbridge Way, and paid parking at the ORA Building around the corner. Ch Giò (Pork Spring Roll) 8.50: This crispy spring roll is made with minced pork, carrot, taro, black mushrooms and glass noodles. Served with lettuce, fresh mixed herbs and nc mm. Seafood Spring Roll 4.25 / piece: Filled with crabmeat, shrimp, carrot, onion and mayonnaise. This reminds me a lot of a dim sum item we used to order a lot as kids. Papaya Salad 16.50: This is one of my favourite Vietnamese salads. Loaded with fresh papaya, carrot, lemon, onion, mixed herbs, prawn, pork loin, peanuts and house made dressing. Tangy and sweet with lots of different textures for a great mouth feel. Bún Bò Hu (Spicy Beef Noodles) 14.75: Sliced beef brisket and pork with thick vermicelli in spicy beef broth. When the broth arrives it isn't very spicy and is fairly light, but you can request for extra red satay sauce to customize to the heat level of your preference. Bánh Xèo Sàigòn (Vietnamese Crepe) 19: This crispy rice flour pancake filled with sliced pork, prawns, green onion and bean sprouts is great for sharing but I'd say I can have it all to myself. It has a nice crispy char and a soft center. Served with lettuce, mixed herbs and nc mm. Too bad I couldn't stay for dessert and had to a meeting to run to, but I'm looking forward to coming back to Com Vietnamese for their Sharing Mains available both lunch and dinner services. Loved the noodles in the chicken pho, but the texture of the meat was like mulch. My dad mentioned the same for bun bo hue. My mom liked her vegetarian noodle soup though! Nothing unique here, just an ok place for ok pho if you want overpriced noodles. Great decor and free parking underground, but a bowl of pho shouldnt cost that much. High quality, delicious vietnamese food in a clean and sophisticated space in Richmond! Highly recommend for large groups as well as the staff are very accommodating if you book ahead of time. We went with a group of 25 or so friends and although we did split into different tables, they were all close together and we had no problem mingling and catching up with everyone. The owner Mike is awesome and is passionate about his restaurant. I've tried several dishes there and they were all great. This review is primarily on Com Vietnamese's customer service. There were a few errors in their service, but when brought to their attention, they did everything they could to try to fix the issue and make us feel welcome and comfortable. Overall, for a new restaurant, they understand the importance of good customer service and have trained their staff and management team to accommodate reasonable requests. In regards to the food, we ordered many things off their menu and all the dishes were satisfactory. The price point is justified by the great decor and customer service. If you want cheap pho in a dirty restaurant, there are plenty around Vancouver...go there. But if you want a good ambiance and a place to chill and have a cocktail and some decent pho and Vietnamese dishes (and get treated well), come here. read more

We live nearby so one day we wanted to give it a try. Apparently, it's a new spot for Vietnamese foods. We tried their beef pho and chicken pho. The soup tastes like homemade, however it is not as delicious as the other popular pho restaurants in Vancouver. I would say Maimai's soup and beef ranks better than this restaurant. But it is definitely a great spot to hang out or date. The decoration is very comfortable. It's more like a high end Vietnamese cuisine with lots of alcohol options. Delicious pho! Probably some of the best I've ever had outside of my visit to Vietnam. Cocktails could be better, had the apple martini and it lacked flavour and tasted like a non-alcoholic drink. I have to say the decor and service are pretty nice. The only thing is the price. I'm basing it on what I had which was the vegetarian fried rice with mushrooms but there wasn't much mushrooms and it was small for $14 . It did taste good but it was more like a Chinese flavoured fried rice. Again I'm kinda complaining about the lack of the only vegetable mushrooms. Maybe about 5 were cut up to make my fried rice. As everyone else says , it is a bit pricey here but still the food was quite good!! I just felt kinda sad I had so little mushrooms. Would I come again? Maybe if I brought my Instagram friends but for a good down to earth meal, there are so many other choices. If I pay more I kinda want more. I don't think my fried rice was organic but then I'm no expert. On the plus side my brother and mom like it here and they always recommend it as the new hot Vietnamese restaurant in town! Let's talk about the elephant in the room. One of the draws of Vietnamese cuisine is pho. CHEAP pho. Most of us don't mind lousy service as long as the food is good. This restaurant is not cheap and would be better suited to match some the restaurant prices in yaletown. If you like cheap pho do not go here. What this place offers is a variety of Vietnamese dishes with high quality ingredients. Service was better than I expected and the ambiance reminded me of a chain restaurants. I asked the waiter if their are any other locations and he mentioned that this was a partner restaurant to a place in Atlanta. Would I return? For sure. Would I bring kids? Probably not. I'm quite picky about my Vietnamese food. Growing up Vietnamese I've never had a true hankering to try Vietnamese food elsewhere. However, I was very intrigued by the concept and decided to pay a visit midweek. Upon reviewing the menu, I was quite impressed with the selection. Particularly, I was surprised by the family style entrees. Unfortunately, they had sold out of the chicken so my friend opted for the beef vermicelli in and I decided upon a hu tieu kho. We also ordered two iced coffees and requested for condensed milk instead of the original coconut milk option. The coffees came first and they tasted very much like your typical Vietnamese iced coffee. Next, came our entrees. Honestly, the hu tieu kho tastes EXACTLY like how my mom makes hers. Good portion size with minced meats, seafood, and a quail egg. The soup on the side was ok... gingery with a strange flavour profile. The coffee coconut flan for dessert (not pictured) was not the best and we did not end up finishing it. Price-wise, it is going to be pricier than your typical mom and pop pho shop. However, with the decor and ambience, it is definitely a trendier place. All in all, I recommend the hu tieu kho and would definitely make another visit. This restaurant tries to be a fancy fusion restaurant. They put lots of staff inside, and they all seem busy, but it's not even full house. Rating of food is 2.5/5 (small portions and taste is just ok. Broth is very salty.) Service is 2.5/5 (servers don't know what they are doing). It takes like 20 mins for them to serve a bowl of pho that costs $14 (very expensive compared to other places). Bean sprout is only a little plate, and you only get one. Highly not recommended if you want to have pho unless you live around the area and don't need to drive (there are only less than 15 parking stalls for the whole building). My last review was written on 3/11/2019, today (6/24/2019) when I was chatting with my coworker, she told me she went to this Vietnamese place over the weekend in Richmond that didn't have high chairs. I asked her if it was CoM and she said yes! I was pleasantly pleased when CoM management responded to my first review back in March regarding the high chair situation, but today I'm upset that they still haven't solve that problem when they said they would. I went to Elisa Steak last week and they had high chairs for my toddler son. If young families can go to eat steak without worrying about seating arrangements, they should also be able to go to a Vietnamese restaurant. I normally don't get this upset, but the restaurant management responded to my first review and said "thank you for your feedback and we will definitely get some high chair for babies in the future". Not sure why it took them over 3 months to solve for this simple issue. read more

The restaurant looks very clean. The food is mediocre. Crepe tasted alright, but was very oily. Caramelized mackerel fish was very small portion, looking at the size of it, it was one fish cut into 4 pieces, and it had tons of bones in it. If they wanted to charge $22 for it, at least they could give more fish, and pick out the bones. Chicken wings were alright. I was looking at their kitchen while I was waiting for their food. I saw that for their chicken pho, they took a frozen piece of raw chicken about the size of their palm, and microwave it, and put it in a bowl, and add soup to it, and serve it to their customer. And charge them $14 bucks. Another customer ordered curry. I saw them taking out the pre-made curry from the fridge that is store in a plastic sandwich container exactly the one used for packing lunch for one person. They heat up the plastic sandwich container in the microwave, and pour out the curry onto the rice and serve to customer. Another $14 bucks for eating left over from the fridge. Reminds me of lunch time how my co-worker heats and eats their left over curry from last night in the lunch room. I can open my own restaurant now with my $200 microwave!! Trust me, this place tries to look high end, makes their food look presentable for your camera, but if you want real Vietnamese food, this is not the place. AMAZING! That's if I only has one word to describe this restaurant. I wish I could pack this restaurant in my bags and take it back to Anchorage with me. The restaurant is clean. Staff is friendly. Food is delicious. We started off with the fried seafood roll. Perfect crunch on the outside & perfectly creamy on the inside. Loved it so much we shared another one. Then we moved on to sharing the wings. The chicken wings are to die for. The best dry rub chicken wing hands down. The wings are tender and juicy. The perfect crispness of the outside with the explosion of juicy garlic butter, lead us to order another round after we shared the main course. Now I don't know how to spell the main course, but it was yummy! The broth was clean tasting and clear. A fantastic balance to compliment the dish. I wish I could explain it better.
