First time visiting Collina for my dear friend Benefit. First of all, thank you to this Family owned business for putting this fundraising event for her!!!! The place was packed.. sitting outside in the heat was brutal but tolerated due to what we were there to do!!! Food was very good... The Salad (dressing was a bit to vinegary) but good The Bruschetta was Amazing.... The Linguini Del Mar was very dry but I sent it back and it came out Perfect!! Crispy Shrimp Bowl was good and different. Rigatoni with Meat Sauce tasty But the Best was the Chicken Cor Don Bleu!!! Highly Recommend!!! The Specialty Cocktails were yummy!!! The staff worked their tails off!!! We took a few desserts home!!! The lemon Marscopon Toasted Ravioli was different and good! Cheesecake Yum!

Yum! My dad and I made reservations here before our show at The Fox. We started with the brisket ravioli appetizer, which was super yummy. The green goddess sauce paired perfectly with the tender ravioli. For our entrees, I opted for the chicken cordon bleu, which was delicious. It was served with a cheddar gnocchi which was clearly homemade. So light and fluffy, I would eat just that for my meal! My dad got the bucatini pasta which he said was delicious, as well. We were too stuffed for dessert, but I need to come back to try that stuffed carrot cake! Overall, this charming and cozy restaurant had wonderful service and exceeded our expectations.

Grabbed some dessert for carry out. The cakes were delicious and came out quickly. Service was fast and the ladies were great to help me make my choices. Layout of the restaurant is better for dine in, as there not a spot to wait for your order, if not dining in. Port wine chocolate cake was my favorite over the stuffer carrot cake, but both were tasty!

First time visiting Collina around 7 on a Saturday night. There isnt a hostess stand so checking in is an awkward stroll through the dining area. This location used to be the old pit stop. It's noticeable because some of the staff still wear those shirts. The service was nice but things were noticeably slow for everyone. I don't mind waiting for the food to be done right but I could here some other tables getting antsy. We started with splitting the fall salad which was sweet and tangy, the pecans were my favorite part. I had the fettuccine de gambari. The shrimp were big and the pasta was incredible. The portion size is a little too small for $25. I think they could do better by reducing the number tables to get cook times down.

Wow! What a hidden gem. Found this place thanks to Yelp and thought it would be a good place for people with varying preferences and it knocked it out of the park. First, the service was phenomenal (shout out to Julie!). Second, the food was great. We had a great experience and sent some family friends the next week and they loved it too. It's like the perfect neighborhood restaurant, good for date night, family dinner, take out... you name it, it hits. They have amazing specials throughout the week, so check those out when planning your visit.

My husband and I came here back in December 2023 and our food was VERY subpar; burnt chicken sandwich, burnt bacon, and some other stuff (however, the service was great). I called and the owner offered us a gift card for our poor experience. Love! Five... months... later.... they called us and reminded us that we had a gift card waiting there; I was so grateful that they hadn't thrown it out! The restaurant is pretty small and quaint. It sits on the corner of Mackland. We ended up coming back in around dinner time. Our server came over and greeted us, she was pleasant. I asked her which one of their specialty drinks was the least sweetest because sweet & overly sweet drinks are a no for me. She went to ask the bartender and the bartender recommended the old-fashioned... I literally get old fashioned's everywhere I go which is why I wanted to know which one of THEIR specialty drinks was the least sweetest so I could try one of those. But I guess that was the only option?? We order appetizers and we opt for brisket ravioli, and lobster arincini. The ravioli was good with the green goddess sauce. Just "good." I couldn't try the other appetizers as I am allergic to shellfish, but my husband said they were also, just OK. My husband opted for a seafood pasta that he said was bland, again I couldn't taste because of the allergy but for him to say that speaks volumes because he never complains about anything. I ordered the steak medallions which were delicious & cooked perfectly, my veggie side was also bland so I just added some salt and pepper and they were fine. I may come back and try something new.

The service was excellent from the start. My party made reservations due to rain. The seating is limited inside. They do have a variety of outdoor seating for nice days. We loved the bruschetta. It was delightful. My half fried chicken meal had to be one of the best classic fried chickens I have had in a long time. The shrimp bowl had so many flavors. You cannot go wrong with an of the items. Their manager last night was incredible and we appreciated her service with our carrot cake! A+

This was a wonderful find! Incredibly thankful the have gluten free items AND it is clearly marked on the menu. We came on a Friday evening and are pleased we did. Our server, Max, was very helpful and had great suggestions. My husband had the rigatoni and I had the Seafood risotto. I am the one that has to eat gluten free (Celiac). Max assured me the kitchen was knowledgeable and conscientious with the food of those who need to be gluten free. Seating is tight and cozy. I would highly recommend coming here when the weather is nice. The outdoor seating area looked inviting.

We had an excellent dinner this evening! We had a reservation error (my error) and they were able to accommodate the 3 of us. Intimate dining experience, reasonable prices and the service was excellent! Hearty servings. This place will be very busy this spring/summer! They have a full bar and many good wines. Truly, a great addition to this neighborhood!

I went to Collina on the Hill with a friend on a Saturday night to try the fried chicken and was very impressed, The food I had was top notch with excellent sides. We started with the brisket toasted ravioli as a starter and enjoyed that a lot. The fried chicken came out hot and fresh, and really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and green beans. The restaurant itself is pretty cool inside and the servers were all friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back there and try some other dishes especially the pasta that looked and smelled wonderful as it was brought out to other tables.

Looks can be deceiving... I came here for dinner after a suggestion from a colleague. I was impressed at the website and couldn't wait to check it out. Once I arrived, it was a completely different story. When I arrived, I wasn't sure I was at the right place because the restaurant didn't quite match the aesthetic I saw from the website. When I went inside, I had to go through a closed veranda and arrived at the bar. I decided to sit at a table in the area so I could watch the game. I saw they had a pretty decent selection of spirits and wines but was hoping something from the cocktail menu would catch my eye. I asked to sample both white and red sangrias, but they both missed the mark. Instead, I opted for a flavored vodka and sprite. I was quite famished after a long day of work and was ready for an appetizer to start. It had been a while since I had bruschetta, so I went with that. It came out rather quickly and i was given four pieces total. The first bite was just ok, but again, nothing special. The tomatoes were rather sweet, which I wasn't accustomed to. I felt like they overpowered the rest of the ingredients but because I was hungry, I ate it. A short while later, my entree arrived. Since it was late in the evening, I opted for something light and went with the vegan spinach gnocchi. This wasn't anything how I had pictured it. It def. had a lot of spinach, almost too much. I get spinach is already bland but even with the other ingredients (sunflower seeds, vegan mozzarella, and tomato) it was just blah. Unfortunately, both dishes were quite underwhelming. I ate enough to get full and that was that. While the bartender on duty was super attentive and very nice, the ambiance and dishes aren't enough to warrant a return visit. The website gives off somewhat upscale but the reality is a nice Applebees.

    Collina Eatery, on The Hill.

I checked out Collina Eatery on The Hill for dinner back on 06/12/2025. Believe it or not, this used to be a gas station. (In the second photo, you can see the gas pumps out front, near the patio seating.) They did a great job of converitng the space into an intimate, neighborhood restaurant. Regarding the cuisine, it's sort of a combination of Italian and classic American. There's also quite a bit of variety in the menu. Both the food and the service were executed very well. I think Collina Eatery is a great food option whenever you're on The Hill.

Delightful dinning experience. It's an intimate quirky space. Wait staff was terrific and attentive. Brisket toasted Ravioli was a tasty twist on a St. Louis classic. Red Snapper with crab cake polenta was amazing. My friend had the chicken cordon bleu, and raved. Enjoyed every bite.

I recently stopped by after an appointment in STL. It was right at lunch time and it was also, opening day for the Cardinals. So when I entered, the line to order was already long. To my surprise, the one lady taking orders, moved that line quickly. So I give her major kudos. When it was turn to order, I was ready. I went with a Double and swapped out the American Cheese for Pepper Jack. For my side, I tried their Salt&Pepper Onion Rings. After ordering, I took my number stick and took a seat at the bar. Once seated, the bartender welcomed me and I ordered a draft beer. I barely had completed my Wordle and my burger basket was being slid in front of me. Before taking my first bite, I admired the crisp edges and actually ran my finger around them. My first bite was heaven. It proved to me that all a good smash burger needs is; ketchup, mustard, onion and pickles. The Onion Rings were made in house and the simple seasoning of Salt & Pepper made them a winner. While dining at the bar, I learned a new trick. If you're going to be sitting at the bar to enjoy your smash burger, you can order it from the bartender. That's right, no standing in line to order, you can go straight to the bar. Great staff. They all hustle and provide friendly and professional service.

I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer. The portion size was generous, and they were tasty overall, though they had a tangy seasoning dusted on top that seemed a little odd at first. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. My friend ordered the vegan burger and absolutely loved it. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great atmosphere, though there was an unusual smell indoors, so I was very thankful we were able to grab one of the outdoor tables. It is a Trojan horse for one of the best burgers in St. Louis (my wife says I'm being dramatic for calling it THE best; I say I am not NOT going back for another). We enjoyed everything we order: the pork belly burnt ends and cashew chicken wings, and a coffee & cardamom old fashioned that sounds like a personality disorder but tastes like a vibe, smoky, a touch sweet, and very drinkable year-round. The Sam Elliott burger, BBQ sauce, bacon, crunchy onions, brioche, is named for a man who has never disappointed anyone, and neither does the sandwich. And the meatloaf is NOT your grandma's brick: tender, charred at the edges, laid over silky mashed potatoes with broccolini, perhaps closer to a chop steak than a loaf in the best possible way. Vibe is farm-chic: old church pews, repurposed interior doors, a proper bar up front, plus a patio and rooftop for when the weather cooperates. Fun fact -- it's named after the blue duck Billy Madison paints in elementary school, which is a fantastic piece of trivia and tells you absolutely nothing accurate about the actual restaurant. 4.7 Stars. Picking Nits: the counter-order setup is efficient, but it sets expectations in the wrong direction for the first 90 seconds, you brace for fast-casual and instead get something considerably more ambitious. Food comes out fast once you've ordered, which is great if you're hungry and slightly jarring if you wanted a slow, lingering dinner. And the Billy Madison naming is charming trivia but entirely misleading as a vibe preview, no complaints about the actual restaurant, just the branding expectations it sets. If The Blue Duck were a character: Ron Swanson. Hear me out. If Ron ate here, he'd be suspicious of the entire experience until his first bite of protein -- the counter ordering, the repurposed doors, a burger named after a fellow mustachioed American, all of it registering as potentially too clever. Then the Sam Elliott hits his plate, he takes one bite, and the skepticism dissolves into the quiet respect of a man who has found his people. Looks rustic. Has strong feelings about meat. Secretly sophisticated -- plays saxophone in a jazz club under a fake name, builds his own furniture, would 100% approve of the farm-chic decor once the protein has spoken. Presents as simple. Isn't.
