I'm a really big fan of Cold Stone. I've been coming to Cold Stone Creamery here in Los Angeles since I was a teenager. One of my first jobs as a teenager was working for a Cold Stone Creamery. I just got finished cleaning my ice cream off of my front seat because they apparently don't offer any sort of cup holders or lids if you get the waffle cup. The inside of my car is forever going to smell like rotten milk now because it soaked into the fabric. Honestly it's been so long that I can't even remember when I was last here. But today, it was calling my name. The same concept as it's always been, choose your ice cream, make your own or pick one of the specialty flavors they offered. Service was great, it was busy but didn't take long for help. We went with the classic from their list. The Berry Berry Good and Surender to Strawberry. The ice cream mix with the topping to create the deliciousness and then completed with the flavored waffle cone. It did the trick. The ice cream was great and very fresh. Waffle cones were nice to add, not sure how often they're made. They also have cakes in the fridge as well for the grab and go. It's pretty good and perfect for that craving but it seemed to have gotten pretty pricey for them. Two ice cream in a dipped waffle cup with gratuity came up to 27.00. Prices are a tiny bit on the high side: $7.99 for the smallest cup. I splurged in a Coffee Lovers cup with coffee ice cream, chunks of Heath bar, bits of toasted almond and caramel. Such a treat although the coffee flavor could have been a tad stronger. The cake and company refund policy get 2 stars, but the crew and their problem solving skills get 5 stars. Together they average 3 stars. I came in to buy a cookie dough cake and took it home. When I opened the cake the cake looked old and had freezer burn. (Like when you leave things in the freezer for long time and they get freezer burns and start forming crystals) I came back to the store to make an exchange and they were happy to do it for me but the next 2 cakes they showed me had same problem. I asked for my money back and they said it's company policy they cannot refund my money back to my card? The crew called their manager to try and make an exception but the answer was no. They offered several options to make me whole and we looked through their cake inventory and found one that I liked (I looked for the one that looked the freshest). I was trying to find a date on the box like when it was made or eat before date but did not find any on the case? Anyways, I am bummed because we like to get ice cream cake from cold stone but looks like their inventory doesn't get bought or replaced often. Sadly, I will look for other place to get ice cream cake. This review is only for their cake and their refund policy. Love this place! Always a pleasure everytime we visit! Staff are all super friendly and welcoming, will accommodate you and give you the best customer service experience! Especially today, my bf and i went to the northridge location, the girl, Brooke, was extremely rude to us! When she was making my ice cream, i realized it had bananas on it and i have bad allergies with it. Instantly, i apologized and said i didn't know there was bananas included. She looked so annoyed, threw the ice cream shes making aggressively and gave me a new one but slammed it on the counter and walked away.... Hella rude! We paid and left but i didn't even want to eat my ice cream anymore and threw it away. We then decided to go to this location, and im telling you! It was the complete opposite. All the staff were suuuper friendly to everyone who came in! Welcoming and the person who assisted us is Yara! Such a delightful person! The server was nice but paid 15 dollars for a gotta have it that was melted and runny when I got it but not trying to be a picky person foolishly took it anyway. Had to hurry and eat it with five minutes as it was almost totally melted within that time. I decided to drive here from sylmar since it was the only dessert open nearby. Ordered about $50 worth of ice cream and the portions they gave barely even fit in the cup size I ordered, not in a good way either, it was less than. In addition to that they were so stingey with the ingredients. For example I asked for strawberries and I was given one SMALL one. And when I asked for more they said it would be extra per strawberry. Not only that but this location does NOT even mix the ingredients. All they did was put the toppings in the middle then just fold the ice cream around the toppings and then they were just like hidden inside not mixed at all. My husband had an AARP Coupon for buy 1 get 1 free. The young lady serving us was ready to accept it when the very rude young man stopped her and said they don't take coupons from AARP. Pizza is often likened to sex in that even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. Having had the no-name brand of several discount supermarkets, I don't think the same can be said for ice cream. But Cold Stone is always good wherever the store is located. The ice cream flavors and toppings are as consistently tasty as the service is warm and friendly. This place used to be our go to/favorite spot, I spent so much money here coming in 2-3 times a week with my family. In the past couple months the quality, cleanliness and customer service has gone extremely downhill. For this reason I will not be returning and decided to leave a review. I don't normally write reviews but I am shocked and appalled at how quickly this place did a 180. It used to be so good!!!! I came in around noon the other day to bring my family in to get Icecream. As soon as we came in we were approached by a workers baby. There were no other customers in the store and the baby was running freely back and forth behind the counter and the front entrance. My wife and I were very concerned as the baby was just allowed to run around the whole store, while screaming and touching us. As a customer this is very unprofessional and weird. As A FATHER/PARENT this is extremely concerning as the baby could be touching ANYBODY. The baby also had metal spoons in her hands and mouth the entire time WHICH ARE USED TO SERVE CUSTOMERS. It was completely unsanitary, and quite frankly Disgusting. The worst part was I saw the baby drop the spoons on the floor and TO MY HORROR I saw the spoons BE PLACED BACK behind the counter by the icecreams, TO SERVE WITH INSTEAD OF BEING WASHED. And the whole time who I assume to have been her mother (the older female employee behind the counter with an ascent) she just laughed! And thought it was funny???? WHAT? This is DISGUSTING and we will NEVER return back to this location. $46 on dirty nasty icecreams that weren't even filled up all the way!?!? Shame on the mother for not watching her baby. The other coldstone's on Sepulveda or even the Northridge location is a way better location! DO NOT COME HERE. Unless you wanna get sick with something. I pre ordered a birthday cake. Well, when it's a birthday cake, you would want for it to be presentable right? First of all, the decoration was different from what was shown online. When I asked about it, the lady said that's how we were taught to do. Well, they had the exact cake advertised on their wall and I said look, what you're giving me looks different. Omg, I just pulled a long hair out of my ice cream. This has never happened to me before and I am so disgusted I don't know what to do. I paid $7 for a small cheesecake icecream with Graham crackers and caramel sauce and it came with a free hair.
