My fiancé surprised me with a birthday cake from here. It was a photo cake on the most popular Rose Bakery Strawberry Short Cake. It was not too sweet but light and delicious! He said the lady there was very helpful and ordering was very easy. He emailed the image to her and cake was ready for pickup 72 hours later and came out better than expected! This is our 2nd time ordering from Rose Bakery and I absolutely had to come write them a glowing review. My husband first surprised me with a red velvet cake for my birthday, which was one of the best red velvet cakes I've ever had. In addition, he brought home a sampling of their other cakes, from strawberry to Oreo, and each was more delicious than the last. Cut to his birthday and I ordered a chocolate/vanilla marble cake with chocolate chips, and I struggle to even find the words to tell you how phenomenal this cake is. Moist, not overly sweet, the chocolate chips give it that little extra crunch, it's literally THE best cake I've ever had. Period. Full stop. They've been around a long time and it shows- and I'm going to need to them to stay in business forever, because I intend to buy every cake I need from them for the rest of my life.

Perfectly spongy vanilla cake with sweet strawberry filling! The berries were delicious. Cake was smooth and spongy and not too sweet! Love it! They wrote in my birthday message with beautiful writing. I will definitely return to try some of their other pastries!

This is based solely on the delicious cookies :) lemme give you a solid comparison- yesterday I had Susie Cakes Bakery Cookies - they were hard, buttery to a fault, and unremarkable - oh and very expensive. I go to Rose Bakery - the sugar cookie is hard but somehow soft, the icing is also hard but somehow soft, and the flavor was lightly buttered and not too sugary - this means the cookies were PERFECT! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! They're somehow thin but not crispy! This spot rests within a strip mall, almost hidden to the right of Dollar Tree. But please seek this place out and nab the best cookie of your LIFE!

Cakes, cookies and pastries are a little on the pricer side than most bakeries but its worth the price. We usually get our holidays, bday and sugar cookies here. It's walking distance from work when you need a quick cake for someone birthday. Our favorite is the tres leche cake. Its not overly sweet or mushy. The cake can hold up to the 3 milks and fruits. Tried the rosca de reye large size today. It tasted like a most cinnamon roll. I was so happy with ours. It was moist and not dry. We inhaled it at work. It said 3 babies but we only found 2. read more

I've been here a few time and they always deliver. The strawberry whip cream cake and Oreo are my favorite. They also delivered on a very last minute three tier baby shower cake for me. It was exactly what I wanted but the fact that they came through with what they could in a less than week. I really appreciate it. read more

Fantastic find in Van Nuys! I wanted a special cake for my daughter's birthday, but everything I found on line was ridiculously expensive. I went into Rose Bakery with a photo, and they made basically the same cake (it was gorgeous!) for a fraction of the cost. Maria was extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The cake was DELICIOUS!! And best of all, my 18 year old daughter was THRILLED!!! Highly recommend! read more

I called on a Tuesday asking over their Miloha cake for Saturday and Maria was very friendly She gave me the prices and what they can do if I wanted to make this custom made, I was going to think about it but had to call Wednesday as they needed the order before time. I missed to call and called Maria on Thursday and she was able to take the order for a 1/2 sheet miloha cake . They give you a 2 hour pick up window from the time you say you will pick this up and she did not take a deposit. I got the Miloha cake how it looks on the website just added the wording and when we picked it up this was the perfect size I was worried I got a small one The cake was a hit, everyone love it The top was a white chocolate with chocolate drizzle and some berries on top It was frosted on the side and the inside had the puff pastry with the buttercream My aunt who the cake was for said it was her favorite and that is all I needed I even saved some cake for later because people were eating it too quick Thank you so much for the accommodations I have a bakery now when in the valley area Note-The bakery is located In a shopping plaza and they do have parking but the bakery is right in the corner so it can be a missed but you have to go and try the Miloha cake read more

Really happy I found this place, it literally is a hole in the wall tucked away in a little corner of the strip mall. Staff is super friendly and offered nice recommendations when I mentioned it's my first time. They don't have a huge selection of simple bakery items but there are ruglahs, cookies, cakes slices and some others. I started off with a cheese rugalah and raspberry rugalah, both of which were super tasty! And they're literally bite sized. I just got one of each being my first time but I will definitely grab a dozen next time. I also tried the vanilla cookie that was soft and crumbly but a little too light on the vanilla flavoring for my preference. And lastly i got a flan slice that was amazing! Not overly sweet and more firm than a soft custard but it was a perfect balance of flavors and great texture, I would definitely get this one again as well. read more

They came through when no other bakery did! I needed a last minute Halloween theme cake and I called everywhere in the valley. They were the only ones that had an already prepared cake. Additionally I got their Oreo cake and the whole party devoured it! 10/10 highly recommend! I forgot to mention how amazing the customer service was. The tres leches cake was delicious. This was my first time ordering and I will be back for future cakes. But the customer service was lacking.. the lady was a bit irritated when asking about prices. Prices are a bit over the top for custom orders. Extra $$ here and 10 more for fruit inside and $10 more for spray painting etc. I Still give it a 5 star review based on the taste of the cake. read more

I gave the lovely ladies at Rose Bakery a picture of a trendy cake style and let me tell you they blew me away! This cake was not only beautiful, but it was delicious. I absolutely love this bakery...I've gotten 3 cakes here so far, and every time I get nothing but compliments on taste and on how cute the design is. I strictly do whipped cream as I find buttercream to be way too sweet...this limits the designs I can do, but I prefer taste over looks. This last time for my daughter's birthday I had to pick up a day ahead...staff gave me a warning that having fresh fruit might cause the juices to leak from the cake, however I got it home and placed it straight in the fridge it was perfect for the next afternoon. read more

Cake cake cake!! My family has been coming to Rose Bakery for years! This would always be my mom's go-to spot for my sisters and my birthday cakes. To this day, we still get cakes for our kids and for special celebrations. Our family's tradition cake would always be white cake with fresh strawberries and fresh banana filling. However, they make beautiful rainbow cakes and yummy marble and red velvet cakes. Not only are their cakes delicious, but they have a great cake decorator! We always show them a picture of how we want our cakes and they never disappoint! Even though I no longer live in the valley, I still order cakes from them. If you live locally, they can deliver. Their prices are reasonable, and they do ask for a deposit. They can also make cupcakes, cookies, and other various treats. Last minute went to get a cake at Rose's . It was my mom's 70th birthday and she just wanted a simple dinner at home. My mom isn't into sweet cake so the one of the young ladies recommended a mango cake. It wasn't too sweet and the cake was moist and soft. My family loved it and had seconds. Will definitely come back for another cake. FYI they do have a few already made cakes. They do all kind of custom cakes and they do have some other pastries. read more

So happy that we found this place! The place we normally went to closed permanently during covid and I was scrambling to find a new place that did photo cakes at 5pm. I didn't make it to the first store that popped up on YELP and Rose Bakery came up second and it was in the way back home. Really convenient! Easy parking and excellent staff. The cakes were delicious - the rectangle photo cake was $48 and the round one was $30. I ordered at 6pm for a 10am pick-up the following day and it worked out perfectly! First thing you notice when you step in is that they have a lot of cakes on display. There's no seating either, it's strictly a grab and go place. Both times I came, someone was picking up a cake ahead of me, so that's definitely what to get here. I asked the cashier, and she said that you can either call or came in person to place a cake order. You can also come by and pick up one of their ready made cakes. Will keep this place in mind for the future. I picked up a number of pastries and tried some of them at my friend's place. Here's what I tried: Slice of vanilla roll cake ($2) - very moist but not much cream Almond croissant ($3.50) - loved the almond filling Sponge cake ($2.75) - delicious! Almond cookie ($0.35 each) - tastes exactly like the almond cookies I ate growing up Cream puff ($2) - this was the only thing I didn't like. I couldn't decide between the butter croissant or cheese puffs so I asked the lady working which one she would recommend. She said both were good but the cheese puffs are more savory. So I went with the cheese puffs, the bread was okay but I did not like the cheese at all. I think the butter croissant would've been better so next time when I'm back to the dentist.

We ordered a custom cake from here for a kid's birthday party! Everything was done online and the ordering process was very easy and hassle-free. They were prompt in replying to our email inquiries and were accomodating to the changes we had to make during the process. Choosing the cake and frosting flavors, as well as paying the deposit for the cake was done through email- which was so convenient since their location is a bit of a drive for us. Since we chose a cake design from their Instagram page, we didn't need to come in to their store to personally meet with their cake designer. They were also able to give us a definite price right away! They also offered the cheaper option of having us provide the decoration for the cake (candies) which actually saved us about $30. I appreciate how they try to keep the costs low for their customers! We picked up the cake and it was exactly how we wanted it. I must admit I didn't get to try it but I was informed that the cake tasted good and that it wasn't too sweet. However, I got to try one of their cakes at a party that I attended in the past and it left a good impression. That's actually how I found out about Rose Bakery and why I thought about them when we needed a custom cake! Me and my family have been going to this bakery for years for all our special occasion needs. They always do such an excellent job! It IS a hole in the wall and you can't see it from the street, so I believe they receive their customers by word of mouth from other customers. They recently remodeled the store which means they must be doing very well. It's very nice inside and the staff is always nice and courteous. Their cakes come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors. They also do a great bavarian cream filling and their whipped cream frosting is to die for! Much better than the icky flavoring of fondet! Their prices are extremely reasonable and you get a lot of quality and care in the pastry that you are purchasing. I love this place and will continue to go here for many more years to come. This bakery does the best specialty cakes at such affordable prices. They can even make cakes using fondet or if you don't like fondet they make an incredible whipped cream frosting. It's so delicious and tasty. I got a cake recently from here for a friend's baby shower and the cake came out beautifully. She didn't like fondet so we decided to go with the whip cream frosting and bavarian cream filling in the middle of it. We got compliments as soon as her guests took on biteful. Most people came back for seconds! I would recomend this bakery to any and everyone wanting a pastry experience! Delicious! read more

This bakery always comes through for you when you order from them for special occasions. I always order birthday cakes from here and recently a baby shower cake for a friend. I decided to get a plain sheet cake with whipped cream frosting instead of fondent. Also had them put Bavarian cream in the middle and it was super delicious!
