    Baked goods and aguas frescas

Highly recommended! I've been coming to this bakery for years and for good reasons. I usually get their pupusas with fermented cabbage and salsa roja. They also sell them by the dozen with a small discount. It's great for potlucks! Their baked goods are also delicious and reasonably priced. Their service is friendly and efficient. When I am curious about an item, they don't hesitate to provide samples. They have ample seating to dine in. If dining in, you pay after your meal. The only negative is their parking. It's a small parking lot, so it can be tough to find a spot during busy times.

Took long to place an order and even longer to receive our order. They had lost to choice from went only for pastries but had to place an order for food as well. I noticed that those who did not order food got their order faster. Note to self to stick to pastries only. The cashiers were all very kind and helpful. The parking however was the worst people were blocking other cars that were parked.

After seeing their food postings on instagram, it looked so appetizing I made the trip with my mom who is Salvadorian and my son. We got excited we ordered a few items to try it all, unfortunately we were not happy. The pastel de carne was not great, it lacked flavor and was very bland and so huge. The plátano empanada was flavorless and the crema was like jello, strange consistency. The pupusas were mid. The salsa and curtido were really good though! That felt the most authentic. The desayuno was strange. The plátanos were great so were the cheese and crema but the eggs and Casamiento were runny. The parking lot is real small at this location. There are two others I have not been to. The service was fast and the cashier was friendly. All in all I wouldn't go back. It's obviously not the same as the food in El Salvador but it was not up to par. Try El Cerro Verde instead.

This was our first time trying Salvadoran food, and El Carrusel Bakery made it an incredible experience! My husband and I ordered a ton of food, and every single thing was delicious. The staff is truly excellent--super friendly and kind. Even though the bakery was very busy (the line was long, but that shows how popular and good it is!), the service remained impeccable. The space is large and clean, with a wonderful variety of bakery and food options. We loved it and highly recommend stopping by!

My wife wanted to go here to try the fried yuca and chicharron. Well let's just say that she did even attempt to finish her plate. I got a chicken sandwich that was the BOMB. But we came for her and she was really disappointed. First the Yuca was supposed to have been fried, but they ran out and tried to boil some for her. Well that was a mistake because it sucked. The pork was more like overcooked pork. Not crunchy or anything. It was just horrible. We won't be going back, unless we just happen to be passing by. Also, the parking is the worst as it is in the corner of little small shopping center. Lucky the car didn't scratched up. Sorry

Gracias

The cheese is..tastes like it's Salvadoran and it is delicious. Most places, I'd say 98%, use Monterey Jack, which absolutely positively does not - because it is not, authentic. These are. Their pastries and cakes, while I haven't tried them (yet), look fantastic (horchata tres leches!).

Pro: welcoming, affordable, delicious pupusas. Grow: 3 leches jelly topping is too artificial. El Carrusel is the Salvadorean equivalent of Porto's! They have multiple location in the San Fernando Valley. I love their signature carrusel logo and overall 'mom and pop feel. They serve pan dulce, hot drinks, and pupusas. I had to try a little bit of everything. The staff was very welcoming and fast with my order. Food: I tried the pupusas and they were so good and affordable! The cheese pull in my video says it all. They were packed with cheese and flavor. The pupusas are served with tomato sauce and cabbage which were bright and fresh. For dessert I tried the concha, tres leches, and atole. The 3 leches was my favorite but I wished it didn't have the artificial sauce on top. The atole was corn flavored and very satisfying on a chili day. The pan dulce was also very delicious but I would stick with the cakes. Overall, this was a casual spot for some delicious food. I will definitely be coming back to try some more items.

Carlos gave us some great recommendations so we ended up trying pupusas for the first time. It's made with a homemade corn dough. It's thicker than a regular corn tortilla and stuffed with ground pork and cheese. They have a variety of fillings. You can add salsa roja, a flavorful tomato-based sauce or habanero sauce. Served with Curtido, a tangy, fermented cabbage slaw. So crispy, cheesy and filling. It came burning hot - I could barely hold it. But, I would definitely order this again! We tried Desayuno Típico, a traditional Salvadoran breakfast, which came with casamiento (beans and rice mixed together), Salvadorean style chorizo, fried plantains, 2 eggs, avocado, fresh cheese and Salvadorean style sour cream and homemade corn tortillas. It felt balanced and had something exciting in every bite. The Punisher was still solid and had that classic warm, soft cinnamon roll flavor with plenty of icing, but compared to the Missy it felt like it was missing a little something extra.
