I ordered a cake and ask them specifically to put crushed Oreos all over the cake, top and side, since they can't do the design I wanted. My sister-in-law had to pick up the cake and they gave her the standard cake design they have in the store. Good thing I have some Oreos at home and was able to do it myself. It was our first time at cold stone creamery and I have to say that I liked it. We had the strawberry cheesecake "like it" size and it was very good. Creamy, fruity and a bit crunchy, maybe a little bit too sweet. The guy who prepared the ice cream was friendly. My wife and Son love Cold Stones, I in the other hand am not a fan. First I want to say I feel sorry for the worker Jade, she was amazing, caring and really should be commended for having to put up with an establishment like this. We put in an order for a cake for our sons 13th birthday. The order was place February 2nd for it to be done February 9th by 4 PM. We arrive at 4:15pm and the cake was not frosted, and wasn't ready. The manager Ali was contacted and said "whatever you want will be done". We asked for a refund of the cake and were told we would get complementary pints of ice cream. Jade had already handled the situation and things were going smoothly, but then in walks Mr. Ali all mighty. No greetings, no apologies, attempted to handle product without washing hands and recanted on his word. He was confrontational, threatening and even said "want me to call the cops" all because we wanted our refund. To add insult to injury he attempted to charge us $50 for the "FREE" ice cream we agreed to. The biggest disappointment is the look on my sons face as he noticed he doesn't have his cake. I won't be returning. Jade gets a 5 star review for her attention to detail and ability to handle the situation. This review wouldn't been a 4-5 star review had Ali not shown his face. Some of the much younger girls are horrible at this type of work and need to be trained so much better On the occasions we have great more experienced workers all is great When this happens I have an older no longer on the menu that is my absolute favorite. this cold stone has definitely been one of my favs to come by, cause of the great customer service especially during the busy summer hours, although this particular location never fails compared to others i've been to and considering how understaffed they are. the girls working there still remain nice, calm, and apologetic over inconveniences and handle their business with lots of care and still have a great outcome on customer service. Who doesn't love ice cream? Went there with my daughter to get some late night ice cream. The smallest size is the most I can eat in one sitting. Their portions are big and the workers always stack it up high for you. They were out of some ingredients when I went which wasn't too bad, but I had to change up my order. Not a big deal. I like how they have ready made ice cream cakes so you don't have to order in advance. If you sign up to their email, they love sending you coupons and a special birthday deal as well. read more

After lunch, my friend and I ran to the supermarket. When we were driving in the parking lot, I was looking around and I noticed the big red Cold Stone letters. I yelled out "Cold Stone!". My friend asked if I wanted to stop there after the supermarket. Naturally I said "yes". With it being in the upper 80's, it would make for a nice cool dessert. Walking towards it, I noticed the outside of the building had a weird shape. This has to be one of the strangest designs for a Cold Stone. It's so small and it's built with an angled wall. You walk in and you are right in the area where one would pay for their ice cream. You can to turn to the left to go to the ice cream selection. There isn't much space between the window of the building and the ice cream selection window. It is so small in there, that if 10 people were in there, we'd be shoulder to shoulder. I am just glad that when we went, it wasn't crowded. There are two tables in the far corner with 3 chairs each. It would have been nice to eat the ice cream inside, but because one family was taking up both tables, we had to take it home to eat. Once we got home with the ice cream, we quickly placed it in the freezer for about 30 minutes before we each dug into it's sweetness. read more

This is the best cold stone ever! They go above and beyond to make sure they're able to satisfy their customers' individual needs. I called just a few minutes before closing asking if I made a Postmates pick up for the morning time when they open and that if they could just leave it outside for me when they left for the night and I will come pick it up tonight and then just annul the morning order.They had no problem understanding what I was asking for that like I most from most food places even fancy ones because it takes extra effort. Luckily, they were still open on Uber eats so I ordered it that way, I called back to let them know the change of plans and they told me they would wait for my Uber driver instead of leaving it outside! How nice is that? Talk about employees really caring about the health of the business! I'm sad to hear that they might not be open until 2 AM every night in the coming future butt I get that client traffic is not heavy past midnight especially just on a random weekday. This was the closest location to us so we went. The girl was nice at first giving us a min to choose what we want. After standing there for a while we had said we are ready that's when it stared. Although the website says 24 hours, I mentioned that to her and she said that the website needs to be updated. I basically paid $10 for vanilla ice cream. I ordered the banana caramel crunch, and the person helping me was more worried about the customer behind me. Hardly any toppings were added even though I ordered the bigger carton to take home. And the worst part about everything is when the ice cream was "done" the carton was under filled, so the worker topped it off with scoops of vanilla ice cream. The entire time all they did was worry about the customer behind us... worst buy, I can not believe how little toppings there are even when I specifically asked for extra. I should of read the reviews before I placed an online order. SMH. Well, I ordered a ice cream cake online for Mother's Day which was an easy process. The cake was ordered the day before Mother's Day. So, I arrived at the Lake Balboa location the next day and the courteous staff informed me that they could not write "Happy Mother's Day" on the cake because they didn't have the equipment and supplies. So, I had a blank ice cream cake and the choice I was given by the staff was that I could go to Ralphs where they can write on the cake for me (LOL). I had no choice to take the cake because I did not want to arrive empty handed and I didn't have time go to another location to get another cake. The whole purpose of me ordering a cake was to have Happy Mother's Day written on it!! You had one JOB! This is where the management failed to informed me of their situation and shows that this location is badly reviewed because of management not having the right equipment and supplies. First time I come here and last. I work in Sun Valley and live down the street from this place. Was craving a banana split since I left the office. Went in to this location on Thursday at 1230pm to use my buy one get one free coupon I received for my birthday. The lady working there told me I could not get any of the signature items and was just able to get 1 ice cream flavor and 1 topping. I told her the coupon states ANY size and just enter my phone number while showing her the coupon on my phone. She did not even look at my phone or try looking up my account she just began arguing.. This review is for Andrew, working the closing shift on 1/25/16. Andrew is the greatest thing to have happened to this Coldstone. The last time we were here, we were very disappointed with the service. However, on this occasion, we had the pleasantry of having Andrew. When we arrived, the place was absolutely packed and only Andrew was working the counter. You could tell he was working as hard as he could to serve everyone. Yet, when it came to our turn, he made us feel like we were the only ones in the store, giving us the warmest smile and most professional attitude. He got us our ice cream creations as soon as he could, yet made with the utmost care, and we couldn't be happier. He deserves to be a general manager and at the very least, a significant raise!
