More recently, I walked in the day of my son's 4-month birthday and picked up a small cake. They added the inscription on the spot, which was super convenient. The cake was a great size for a small celebration, fresh, and we chose marble. It was a little sweeter than my personal preference, but still very tasty--and they offer plenty of other flavors to choose from. For our situation, the display cakes were a bit larger than we needed (especially when it's just two adults and a baby who can't eat cake yet). While I'll touch on the actual food here too, I wanted to take a moment and give praise to the sense of community this place has fostered. My partner had been here a year or so ago, and they had remembered her, over dire circumstances. We talked about going on a hike earlier in the week once and without skipping a beat, they remembered. It didn't feel like we were just customers, in that this place genuinely is welcoming and encourages real human connection. With regards to their desserts, I must say that both their key lime pie AND snickerdoodles were amazingly delicious and crafted with care. I will happily exclaim that while I genuinely hate buttercream frosting due to it being sickly sweet, my partners birthday cake was decadent and came with a pleasant sweetness I've not known otherwise. It's very dense, has TONS of filling (nuts) and is honestly so notable that I have to purchase one every time my parents visit.
