This Cold Stone has been here for a while. It's smaller than the chain's other locations, but it still offers the same flavors and toppings. I like Cold Stone for having a vanilla lite flavor that is lower in sugar. The staff is friendly and willing to make sure you are satisfied with what they make for you. I was able to sample 3 flavors and they didn't judge me for trying for the sake of trying. The spoons break easily, so make sure you grab 2-3 on your way out. read more

I miss this place. They are few and in between for me back in Texas. I got the founders favorite. Gooey brownies, Caramel, fudge and pecans in a velvety smooth vanilla ice cream. What a treat on Sunday. I wish they would have mixed it more on the cold stone yet it was till good. I got my scoop just before the crowd and had a parking spot right out front. The location was fairly clean they did have quite a few waffle bowls stacked high already made. I'm not sure If they were expecting a rush but it seemed like overkill. The ice cream was good....but....I wish you could actually see the "cold stone" where they mix-in the mix-ins. It was kind of disappointing that that space is completely blocked with signs and bins of mix-ins (unlike at other locations, where you can actually see them preparing your ice cream.) I have always found this place to be an awesome place to get ice cream. You can choose from a long list of awesome candies to mix into the ice cream flavor of your choice. You can get all sorts of waffle cones, dipped in chocolate or dipped in chocolate with sprinkles added. They have fresh fruit, like bananas that I had in mine. Mine was French vanilla ice cream, mixed with banana, caramel, toasted almonds and crushed butterfinger, in a large plain waffle bowl. The most positive thing about this place, to me, is that I know that I wont leave there disappointed. If I did, I would have to blame myself, for not choosing the right combinations. Came here due to having received a BOGO email. However, the girl literally wanted to argue that I should have printed it out so I wouldn't be able to use it again....ummm, it didn't have a bar code anyway? Then said customers shouldn't be getting reward emails? I only get their crazy expensive ice cream like once a year, so I had no plan to try to use it again, but if it states one per visit, sounds to me like you could use it any time you visit before the expiration date. Whatever-- the point was she held up a whole room of customers to try calling two different managers....as if I was trying to get one over on her. I simply wanted to use the offer that was sent to me. It was unprofessional to make a big deal about it and to act like she was doing me a favor by letting me use the coupon the company sent me. I'm surprised there are bad reviews on this place since in my opinion this is hands down the best ice cream we have here in Tucson. A major bonus point is that they will mix the ice cream in clean tupperware containers so there is no cross contamination with allergens such as peanuts. I guess the only two downsides to this place are #1 - ice cream amounts are dependent on the person that makes it, so sometimes you get a bunch and sometimes you get stiffed #2 - it's a little expensive for ice cream, which hurts when you get stiffed But overall, I fully support this business read more

This is a small location but they have wonderful service and, of course, the ice cream is wonderful. I had a mud pie mojo in a waffle cone while my son enjoyed a peanut butter shake. The servings are large and the flavor is always wonderful. They have some warm desserts with ice cream offering now. I've tried smoothies, cake, and many other flavors and liked them all. I normally try their seasonal flavors and appreciate how they change the menu. We'll definitely go back. read more

So, there are other reasons why I only give this place three stars - mainly the service. Service here rarely, if ever, is above mediocre. There are actually enough times that the waitstaff just seems cranky which is not very pleasant to walk into. The other reason is that for ice cream, this place is really expensive. There is also no catch to make it seem like it is worth the price - not homemade, or anything overly special. The amount of topping choices they have are nice, but they don't give you many and they charge a lot to add anything. I left my house wanting to go to baskin robbins...you know, somewhere you actually can GET a sundae, well all I can say is screw you google maps, for telling me there was a baskin robbins just down the road from my house when in reality its a vacant lot and an ex-baskin robbins sign that looks like its been out of business since the 50s. "Well, ive come this far already...where else can I get some decent ice cream" i said to myself. Plug in ice cream to my gps, and my options are now wendy's (and although i love me a good frostee, not quite what im looking for atm) and cold stone. Guess im going to cold stone. People there were nice. As im standing in line, im starting to remember why i havent been back in one in almost a year. THE PRICES! My lord these people are expensive. Some people may tell you that the price is about the service, that they mix and swirl your ice cream into a fantastic concoction. Oh, do they mean that period of time where whatever ice cream i chose is being slashed and beaten into submission by an angry man with metal spoons? I ordered vanilla ice cream with butterfinger fudge and caramel. What came out the other side was a light brown colored slop with random chunks of butterfinger bars in it that was about 25% liquid. i had them put mine in a waffe bowl. Look, the ice cream, and the inevitable ice cream sludge that ensues unless you eat in the Cold Stone freezers themselves, are all delicious but leave so much to be desired. Where's my sundae? Prices have risen but it's still super delicious ice cream! It's now almost $5.00 (after taxes) for the small like it cup which is pretty steep compared to what you can buy at the grocery store. My husband noticed the germanchokolatekake flavor immediately and in his most perfect German accent went about taking about the German chocolate cock for a few minutes, and the girls behind the counter were totally cool with it. It was absolutely hilarious. To be fair, it's their fault for having that as a menu option. They were patient with my 10 year old acted like a crackhead looking for his next fix and requesting 90,000 toppings (he got three) and they were awesome when I was indecisive about what I wanted, but ended up choosing something with custom toppings that made me have an instant sugar high. The two stars are for the ice cream because it's always good but honestly the girl at the counter today killed it for me. She asked if I wanted my receipt and I said yes please, and she crumbled it up and dropped it on the counter in front of me. LIKE WHAT? Seriously? Totally insane and absolutely rude.
