This was the coffee shop nearest to my hotel so I had to give them a try. I saw that lots of people recommended their chocolate almond croissant so I had to try one. The first day I went in they had already sold out of them, so I got a chocolate croissant. It was still a good pick as it was delicious. It's a cute little bakery and cafe with a light and bright setting. The owner was there and she told me she would have the croissants for me the next day. I returned the next day and the owner told me she was still baking them and to come back in 30 minutes. When I came back they had just come out of the oven so I couldn't have gotten them any more fresh. I'm glad I was able to get one because it was delicious. The flavors were a little subtle for my taste and a couple of the items were way too sweet but visually everything was super appealing and although we might not have loved it, we weren't mad at it either! I'm disappointed writing this because our first visit earlier that morning was great; friendly service, good sandwiches, and excellent coffee. However, when we returned later that day (April 15 around 3:00 PM) for dessert, the experience was completely different. The employee at the register (blonde, wearing a blue sweater) was noticeably rude. We waited in line as she approached every customer ahead of us to take their order. When it was our turn, she did not acknowledge us and instead continued preparing boxes (something that could have been done after assisting waiting customers). After about 5 minutes, we asked if we could order, and she responded with an annoyed look, telling us we could come up to the register "if we wanted to order." For context, every customer she assisted before us was white, and we were the only people of color in the store. While I don't want to make assumptions, the difference in treatment was difficult to ignore. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed our first visit, but this experience changed our perception. This is the cutest little bakery by the University of Arizona with great treats! I'm always a bit picky when it comes to macarons but the texture and flavor of these are absolutely perfect! There is is nothing whoops about Woops bakeshop. Everyone loves their macarons, their vibrant colors and macarons' vibrant and so pretty, for me they are hit and miss as they can be a little too sweet. However their hidden gems are their pastries, their danish are hands down one of the best in town. If you stop by and are lucky enough to find a blueberry one ask for it warmed up, you won't regret it. Personally what stops me from the full 5 is the coffee, as it can be a little hit or miss for me since it can be on the stronger side. However, if you are more of a medium to dark roast this might be your spot for coffee. We have been coming here before we go to see shows at Centennial Hall for years. The staff are all lovely- especially Sophia- she always makes us feel special, remembering us visit to visit even when its been a few months. Find your happy, then get ready to order. When ordering it can be done over the phone, in person, or from your social media app; Yelp. Their pricing is about average. What's average? A box of twelve macaroons will set you back around $24. This is a whole box. The macaroons are sold individually, but everything is cheaper by the dozen.
