Love Cold Stone Creamery in Boulder! It's not the best ice cream ever because it is a chain, but it's still delicious. The chocolate dipped waffle cups are so good and fun. It's buy one get one free if you're a CU student on Tuesday and they're open till 10 which is what makes it so popular! It does get crowded but it's worth it! It was such a warm afternoon and I was in this shopping center for another reason so I stopped into Cold Stone on a whim. Given the weather, I was surprised that there were no other customers. But other times it has be quite hectic. One of the really nice things is that they do make their ice cream on the premises and in small batches. They use nice little metal tubs in the case, like a gelato shop, and it looks so much more appetizing than those old messy cardboard tubs some other places use. The super friendly young man at the counter happily sold me the small kid's size which is all I can handle. I got my favorite, coffee, with Oreo mixed in. A win when I want to splurge. The price on this size was considerably less than a similar size at another popular place in town. I also would like to mention that though a small shop, it is nicely decorated and furnished and has always been very clean when I visited. read more

Boulder Cold Stone is super yummy! The employees are friendly and don't make you bad about wanted to try samples. They are also generous with the portions unlike some of those other guys. If you're savvy there's also deals available in Campus Cash and elsewhere, so stay on the lookout. Otherwise, the visit can become kind of pricey. Either way you'll leave satisfied. read more

My niece adores this place. I find the flavors a bit artificial (especially pistachio). Nice choice of toppings. Beautiful cones. I'd recommend sweet cream with your favorite toppings. I'd avoid fruit flavors, mint, and pistachio. There are other places with much better ice cream for those flavors. Nice staff, but restaurant needs a tad cleaning. read more

This review isn't about the taste of the ice cream or the prices...unless you live on Pluto (which is still a planet where I come from), you have experienced Stone Cold's. This review is based on Marci mailing it in when I bought my cookie batter with a diy mix in. I asked for peppermint patty mix in, was told someone's heel knocked the jar off the counter earlier in the day due to horse play. I ended up getting Twix for my mix in. Marci must of been playing on her MySpace or something because the Twix had one half ass chop in it like someone karate chopped it and then lost interest. When I get to my home, which is where I consume all dairy products, I unveil a full blown Twix with a slight scratch in the outer chocolate. It's supposed to be a mix in, not a set in. Mix it. Chop it. I'm sick of tired of the incompetence. Only thriftys iced cream from now on. Hope it was worth it Marci! read more

Over priced, medocre ice cream cone store, where the cones are $1 extra. The big 12 oz cup is 8$. A selection of PLAIN icecream bases, with various topping hand folded in, to make them "special". Go to Walgreens, buy 1/2 gallon of Bluebell ice cream, pour on some butterscotch, and you have a real treat, for about 15% the cost. My first and last trip to Cold Stone. I walk out of the Boulder Bikesmith, look left, and stop dead cold, as a visual anvil hits me smack dab in the retinas - a Cold Stone Creamery. Really? Really?!!?! On a 90 degree day? Satan, you are a crafty one, tempting me away from having controlled blood sugars and limited caloric intake and all that other stuff - fine, let's check it out! (scampers down the walkway to CSC). The inside is cool and a welcome respite from the late afternoon bakery oven outside. I scoot in right before a mom and 2 presumably college-age coeds get in. I lock onto the menu: Apple Pie A La Cold Stone. Check. I look at the ice cream flavors -- and get another surprise *thwack* in my corneal rods and cones -- my favorite flavor, Cake Batter, comes in a "Sinless" variety -- Splenda mixed in. "Choose Sinless in your favorite Creation to reduce the ice cream calorie count by 57% with zero grams of fat." *Really*? Wow. Maybe it's not the Dark One at work here after all, but a purer power filled with light and not high fructose corn death, er I mean syrup... (I just checked -- their website has full nutritional info on all their flavors. KUDOS to them. And in case you're wondering...47 flavors of ice cream, 19 candy toppings, 12 fruit toppings and 12 miscellaneous toppings. Suh-*weeeeeeeeeeeet*. =^9 ~~~ ) I just checked the difference between the "sinless" cake batter flavor and the normal one: while the carbs are practically the same, the sinless variety has about 60% of the calories, 1/20 of the fat and about 40% of the sugar. Not "sin-FREE" by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly "sin-LESS"...if you're on a diet of any kind, you're committing a misdemeanor when you eat this, not a full-blown felony. And the taste? *VERY* close to the full-calorie variety. Served up with a smile, and I even let the gaggle of giggling gals ahead of me, which was appreciated by the mom. Hey. It's all good here. Today I went in and waited 20 minutes in line before leaving. The service is slow and customer service is low. I would not recommend this place... also the prices?? ridiculously high. Ordered cupcakes for a birthday party 4 days in advance. Called the day before to let them know when I was planning on picking them up. Show up to the store 45 minutes AFTER the scheduled opening time to find the lights off and the door locked. Called and got the answering machine. Found a cake 3 times larger than the one I ordered and $20 cheaper at the Dairy Queen on 28th Street. I have ordered cakes from this location a few times with no incident. Between having to talk to 3 different people to get my order placed to having them closed when I got there, I can say I will not be giving any more business to this location. Sad to say I went in to Cold Stone today and sampled a few flavors. Each of them had this "old' taste to it--sort of like the freezers stopped working for a little bit and then kicked back on, the melted and refrozen type taste. Hard to explain, but definitely not fresh. I went ahead and ordered the Sweet Cream with Reeses. It was just bland. Not typical Cold Stone. Bad form. Good service though. read more

We've been going to Cold Stone for a couple of years now. It's one of our favorite dessert places. Two of my kids have allergies and they are always accommodating about using separate containers to mix our stuff in. We've also had birthday ice cream cakes of theirs that have been excellent. Of course everyone likes to mix and match favorite flavors and goodies. The only down side is, if there is a line, it can be kind of a long wait as they make each person's custom order. We called this Cold Stone location a couple days in advance for a catering event which they so kindly said they could do on such short notice; however they were an hour late to our event. This was quite embarrassing for us because we had to explain to our client why ice cream was not available. My advice to future customers considering catering with this location is to make sure you stress promptness to the owner if you're having ice cream catered. read more

We used to buy all our birthday cakes at Coldstone Creamery on Arapahoe and they were great! The last one we bought was badly frostbitten on the cake part. I went back the next week and they didn't want to help me. They said that the store had just been sold so they wouldn't replace the cake. I threw it away and went back again and asked to speak to the manager or owner. They called the owner and she said since it had been a few weeks, she wouldn't do anything. I proceeded to email her explaining how we always buy our cakes there and to please just replace the frostbitten cake and we would go back. She didn't even bother emailing back. Needless to say, we never went back and that was a year ago...Poor customer service. read more
