I ordered a double scoop of bananas foster and oatmeal cookie, which was generously packed into a house made waffle cone. The bananas foster tasted like caramelized bananas, and had chunks of real bananas scattered throughout the scoop. Heavenly. The oatmeal cookie tasted exactly like an oatmeal cookie. We stopped by this location on the way back to Colorado Springs, and it was conveniently located in a small shopping complex. We came on a Sunday so parking wasn't full. Solid ice cream place! Ordered a double with the Mint Cookies & Cream and the Bananas Foster flavors. Both were really yummy and not too heavy. I usually order fruity flavors or sorbet at ice cream places as I like lighter flavors that aren't too rich/heavy. However, I sampled the Mint Cookies & Cream and liked it! I thought the flavor was unique since you usually see Mint Chocolate Chip (which they also had) rather than Mint Cookies & Cream. Therefore, I decided to go for two dairy-based flavors and I was not disappointed. The Bananas Foster has a bit of alcohol in it which they inform you of when you order it. The mint flavor on the cookies and cream was nice and pleasant and was not too overpowering. The Bananas Foster was the right amount of sweetness for me and I enjoyed the small bits of banana swirled in. This was so cute! We were visiting from Houston and decided to give this a try. The inside is small, but there was more space outside. I don't recall seeing umbrellas, so be mindful of the if the weather isn't on your side. The ice cream is so good! I first visited over Halloween and they had a flavor full of multiple classic Halloween candies. *during coronavirus* There's a lot of ice cream hype in the surrounding Denver area and I was super excited to check out Sweet Cow. Location wise - this place is a 15 min walk from the Boulder downtown center with nothing in between. Being from New York City, a 15 min walk is nothing for me so we decided to park our car downtown and walk to Sweet Cow. Unfortunately we were literally walking along a suburban houses and life was pretty dead. By the time we walked back to the downtown area, we sadly already finished our ice cream. Flavor wise - I was a little disappointed with the choices. When I look for ice cream, I look for unique flavors. Sweet Cow's menu had oatmeal cookie, cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, and strawberry, which are all very normal flavors I would get at Baskin Robbins. We ordered the following - which were both very well done. 1) ozo coffee - a nice deep coffee flavor. We were excited to try a local coffee joint's roast! 2) lemon poppyseed - the poppyseed flavor is very prevalent. It tasted like someone crushed an entire lemon poppyseed muffin into my ice cream - yum! Since it's during coronavirus, we ordered out front for takeaway. When ordering, the cashier asked if we would like to leave a tip for our scoopers, which is super awkward. It's loud enough for everybody around you to hear and it's not like you can say no. So you're basically forced to add a tip onto your bill otherwise you look like a jerk. I understand that it's during coronavirus and we don't want to touch the ordering screen, but that's an instant way to make your guests feel uncomfortable. It dampened our ice cream enjoyment by being forced to give tip. If you want the extra money, just raise your prices a dollar and I wouldn't have even blinked an eye. read more

FACT: Sweet Cow makes me happy, like REALLY happy, and I had the desired results yet again over the weekend. Does anyone leave an ice cream place in a bad mood? Not. But Sweet Cow has such terrific customer service and a good vibe that it is like guaranteed happiness. Arrived on a busy weekend evening, and the line was positive and moved quickly. Plenty of parking as they are in the Community Plaza Shopping Center, just east of Broadway in North Boulder. The Flatirons serve as an awesome view out their window, and there's a lot of seating. I appreciate that they post their available flavors in an easy-to-read manner, so you can debate your options before you wind your way to the counter. Of course, quality control taste testing is part of the process, and on this night, it was one of those tough calls. Careful research of their 24 flavors (offered daily) and came to a conclusion to have Cookies and Cream along with Chocolate Chocolate Chip, and that's only $4! Debated one of their awesome milk shakes (wondering why they call one "The Jake"), that'll be next time! Cannot say enough positive things about staffer Cassee, who was so nice so positive, friendly, and helpful. I've been to both Boulder locations (the other is in the Table Mesa Center), and they're equally good. It's a terrific place to recalibrate and enjoy one of life's fun better treats! read more

The ice cream and shakes are always delicious. The service is unreasonably slow, however. Been occasionally going to SC in north Boulder since they opened and no matter if they're busy or slow it's going to be at least a 15 minute wait for some reason. Today I got just a one scoop cone and there was no line but I waited over 20 minutes. After watching a few people who ordered after me get their orders I went up and asked. It had been sitting next to the window the whole time--and it wasn't like I had been wandering around, they just forgot who it belonged to. It was half melted but I don't like waste so I took it. While waiting I observed three orders they got wrong entirely. I've worked food service and customer service jobs so I know how it is--but this is ice cream! It's not complicated! I think the staff are either chronically stoned or just not terribly bright, or both, lol. read more
