Unfortunately we had out of town guests with us who were subjected to this sad brunch experience. Based on the website it appears they offer a Sunday brunch menu from which you can place an order. Nope - not the case. It's brunch buffet at $28.95 per person (must be good food and a lot of choices with this price point) Nope.... 3-4 melon type fruits, shrimp swimming in melted ice cubes, lukewarm bulk made scrambled eggs, small danishes, bacon, sausage patties, prime rib and potatoes. The quality and small selection doesn't equal $28.95 per person! Shame on us for not walking out when the advertised brunch menu wasn't what was being offered. Made a reservation for Mother's Day brunch. Arrived 5 minutes early. Were told we would have to wait for another party to leave. Meanwhile the party was taking their time. The host continued to seat parties that were arriving who said they did not have reservations. Multiple of these parties were the same size as ours. For some strange reason they insisted we had to sit at a specific table. We have now been waiting for 35 minutes and counting. They continue to seat parties without reservations. Not sure what the point of a reservation is if they ignore that. read more

Valentines Day Dinner - Pros: Nice atmosphere; husband's salmon was good, server was sweet. Cons: Very limited menu that didn't seem geared to Valentines Day...only steak was an expensive surf & turf option; dessert options were bread pudding and bananas foster...no chocolate or strawberry option?; chicken alfredo was served lukewarm with a sauce that was tasteless and looked like a curdled cream, although chicken was grilled nicely; nothing else served with alfredo...no grilled bread...just a bowl of pasta that had what appeared and tasted like dried parsley on top for $23; peach Bellini looked and tasted fake - as if it was a cheap sparkling wine with artificial peach flavoring like Andre, not a real peach Bellini. Watched a young bartender pour 2 pre-mixed chocolate martinis (their special) into glasses. A supervisor dipped a straw in one and tasted the straw. The bartender poured the drinks into a shaker, shook and poured the liquid back into glasses. Just a big disappointment for a special night. read more

My son in law grew up in Manhattan and was giving me a tour of this beautiful city. We stopped here for a Bloody Mary and to sit on the patio after an evening of taking in Aggiville. It was a beautiful day. The scenery, drinks and service were superb. It was so good we decided to come back later in the evening for supper. There was live music scheduled on the patio so we were excited to come back out. There was not enough seating on the patio for our party of six so what do they do....bring out another table that is what I call great customer service. The music didn't disappoint either. We had the prime rib mainly at our table and it was pretty good. The horseradish could have been a bit zestier but that's not their fault. Thanks for a lovely evening! read more

I absolutely love this golf course but the staff are a little off. I went golfing with my fraternity and I bought 15 beers from the bartender and have the transaction as proof. The cooler they gave me could only fit 12. Two guys were walking around and stopped me twice. I was carrying the 3 extra that I paid for. I told them, "go ask the bartender who gave me the beers." One dude goes up and asks and the lady said I only bought 12 and threw away my receipt. The other guy took the three beers I paid for which 3 beers there is 15 dollars. From a golf perspective, this is a fabulous course. Scenic views on every single hole, difficulty levels suitable for all serious golfers, and the layout is superb! No expense was spared in the construction of this course (or its surrounding houses and clubhouse). If you're looking for a great golf course in Kansas, look no further. This course made our whole golf trip worth the driving from Minneapolis. Clubhouse has all amenities you could ask for; it's like a private club. Service was good, employees were nice and informative. Food was not fantastic, but it's a golf course first and foremost. 5 stars read more

Fantastic view with sub par food and sketchy service. This is a public golf course with amenities like a country club. Tons of potential but the poor food quality is consistent and a deal killer. We've been there three times with our young children, ages around 5 and 7. The waitress was annoyed when a soda got spilled on one occasion and was inattentive and uncaring on another. Despite this being a beautiful space and a public course, we got the feeling that kids weren't really welcome and that it might really be for the manhattan elite, at least to the servers. But really, this is the Midwest, you have to welcome families and folk of all stripes. Get with it Colbert! Ok, the food. Frozen burgers with no flavor. Luke warm fries. Lame chips and salsa. So, lousy service, below average food, and epic view. We'll try again and see if the service and food shape up. Will update if so. read more

Did not get anything good. Sandwich was bland and flavorless. This is far from what I was told when John was the chef there. Never again.

Stopped by late one evening, friendly staff took my order and brought me a cold brew. The Cajun spiced pasta dish was amazing. With shrimp, peppers and wurst it was full of flavor and zip with out causing pain. Went perfect with the brew. They checked in to see if everything was ok, overall great food and friendly service. An incredible experience! The course is one of the most challenging we have played! Championship golf that compares to courses at Myrtle Beach or Phoenix. As stated before breath taking views, bring your camera! We have always had great food be it a hot dog at the snack bar or a sit down dinner and have always been treated as special guests! This is more of a fine dining experience in my opinion and not somewhere I would take small children. Casual enough for golf attire or elegant enough for an evening out! Just awful! If you are looking for fine dining skip this place. If you are looking for a palatable menu, skip. If you are looking to pay fine dining prices to be treated like a nuisance: look no further! Their was no one there when we got there, but the bartender shouted to us from behind the bar. The place smelled like they moped with a dirty mop head. The server didn't tell us any of the specials (we looked online), and we had to ask for a drink menu even though we sat in the bar area. The staff wore jeans and t-shirts, which was awkward. Their menu was also pretty awful. There was no cohesion to it, and nothing paired well. I ordered a beer, which I witnessed the bartender struggle to open with her hand. Finally she figured out it required a bottle opener. They gave it to me without a glass, and when I drank it remnants from her struggle (shards of glass) came off. I attempted to flag down the waitress, but everyone was to busy on their phone behind the bar. When I approached the bar they gave me a glass....(good luck?). We got a sandwich and pork chops. The pork chops had an apple sauce, but upon further inspection it was just canned Apple pie filling. We live so close to this place, and we were really hoping it would be a place we could have our wedding. It's surface beautiful on the inside (everything is scratched and peeling when you look closer), but I just can't subject my family and friends to that smell, service, or cuisine. Yuck. I was looking forward to taking my Son here for a nice dinner and a couple drinks as he lives right around the corner. Only part of that happen. It gets one star because our waitress was very courteous, the place is beautiful and the manager did the right thing. We were seated at our table immediately which we had reserved although not necessary last evening and our waitress promptly took our drink order. She was very nice answering all of our questions and joking around with us. My son ordered the Chicken Alfredo (he's a big fan) and I ordered the 12 Oz. Ribeye $32.00 so I as expecting something very good. Our bread and salads arrived and the bread was great with a nice cheese dipping sauce, the salads were average but OK. Our entries can in a timely fashion. This is where it goes downhill fast. Now I have eaten a lot of Ribeye's in my 64 years on this earth and never saw one that looked like this one. Frankly, it looked like something you would get at Waffle House at 3:00 AM. That's not a knock on Waffle House, I love Waffle House and in fact have had better steaks there. This piece of meat was maybe 3/8 of an inch thick with no marbling at all. I am not a butcher but this was not a Ribeye. When I cut into it was tough and although I had ordered medium rare it was way well done, I didn't even taste it! While waiting to our server my Son said his chicken was also very dry and the pasta was overcooked. Our server took our plates and said she would get it taken care of my Son decided to just get a cheeseburger instead as he expected that a re-try on his dish would probably be no better. Our second set of entries came and my son's burger looked OK. My so called Ribeye was not really any better. Same thin scrawny steak as before. It was sort of medium rare although not evenly cooked one side was obviously just flipped over long enough to get a bit of color on it. I took a bite and it was tasteless and tough. My guess was that not long before it ended up in front of me it had been in the freezer and probably for a long time as it had that odd taste that meat gets after being it the freezer for to long. At that point I was done! My son sensing my displeasure decided not to even try the burger which may have been fine. I explained to our server that I was not going to pay $32.00 for what I was being served to me. I told her we would be happy to pay for our drinks and requested the manager. The manger did not come back right away but after a bit she brought our drink check and said she had comped the food (duh) but offered little in the way of an apology and obviously perturbed. As I said in the beginning this is a very nice place, the golf course is beautiful in the summer and I am sure that it is a great place for a challenging round of golf. It is also probably a great place to have a cold beer and some bar food after that round but I would strongly suggest you find a different place to have a steak. In fact they should be ashamed that in a state that produces some of the finest beef in the world that they would try to pawn this piece of meat as a Ribeye and try to charge a premium price for it. read more

Colberts has good food, in fact at times it's food is nearly as good as Harry's. At other times the food has been mediocre think Applebee's on a good night. The one constant with Colberts is their terrible service. It must be that the management simply does not care to train the employees to be prompt and helpful, or they desire to create an environment of a long evening of dining. I have eaten at Colberts a half dozen times now, only once did I have an overall positive experience, even then the service was slow, but the food was so good that it made up for the sluggish service. I once tried to eat lunch there with my wife for her birthday, the restraunt had maybe 20 patrons in it. Long story short after 50 minutes of being in the restraunt we still had not received our food and had to go back to work on an empty stomach. If this was simply a one time deal I would give them a break, unfortunately we have issues like this time and time again. The restraunt is a joke amongst many of my friends and coworkers based on all of our bad experiences we have had there. I really have wanted to see this place be successful, and be a supporter of it, but they have done everything they could to turn me against it. read more
