One of the nice things about CoffeeBar is that you have a ton of options. Do you want to meet for coffee? You're set. Does one friend want a beer and one wants coffee? You're good there too. Have you not eaten anything? There's food. Looking for a dessert or snack? They have those too. I'm not a coffee snob by any means, so I don't generally comment on the taste and how that might compare. To me, it tastes like coffee. They make pretty drawings in the top of my foam--that's about all I know about it. They always have a couple wines (white, red) and they're generally pretty good. They really just have a bit of everything when it comes to beverage options, so everyone will find something that they're looking for. I will comment on are the lemon and salted caramel bars. If you haven't had one of those, do it. The lemon bar is delightfully tart, with a slight crunch to the crust and a dusting of powdered sugar. Salted Caramel has got that great mix of sweet and salty, same crunch, and choosing between the two is a debate for the ages. Half is plenty for me, so I always bring the other half home for a midnight snack. The atmosphere is nice, but it can get pretty noisy due to crowds--there are always a ton of people in here getting work done and sometimes that can cause a seating shortage. I love the decorations here! I've been here a few times. Most recently, I went with my father to try the croissants and lavender latte. The lavender latte was way too sweet. I liked the lavender taste, but the extreme sweetness ruined it. It was still too sweet after I diluted it with water, so I threw the drink away. The croissants were okay (too dense for my taste). They had good flavor, and somehow tasted better the day after. I liked the stuffing of the spinach feta croissant, but the croissant itself was too dense and not buttery. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious. The Nutella croissant was okay (good flavor but the croissant was hard and didn't have enough filling). The butter croissant was too dense with texture more like a bread roll rather than a flaky croissant. The almond croissant lacked flavor. In the past, I've ordered a green tea latte (that I hated- it just wasn't a flavor that fit my preferences) and a mocha (that was good). read more

Whenever my friends and I decide to go for a coffee date, it's usually between Hub or Coffeebar. Usually we end u going to coffee bar, because they have a wider variety. Their drinks are very delicious, and they offer a wide variety of non coffee beverages as well. I have tried their matcha green tea latte (my go to), or the lavender latte. The only downside to this place is that it can get very crowded do there are no empty seats. This is a really nice quaint place to study as well. They also offer food if you are hungry and want a snack. Their prices are very reasonable!! I would even say it's very cheap compared to other coffee places. read more

This isn't a favourite place to visit. I don't really like their coffee, but I'm picky. I love their treats though. My favorite are the croissants, light and superb! The ambiance is nice, but there are no space during lunch time until 2-3pm. Depends on the day. If you can tighten out the heat, rain, wind, etc. Then outside fits you! I love it. The quaint homes nearby, the old trees and the smell of sun! There's plenty of seating and people are always willing to share a table, chair, or both. Don't be shy, it's a great place to start conversations and meet new people. Great vibes! My friends love the lavender latte and the mocha. I like the hot teas, I always ask them to surprise me. There's only street parking. There's a small parking lot, but don't be upset if you can't find a spot there. It can get noisy and I highly recommend having headphones if you need to concentrate, but need the bustle to be productive. read more

This is my favorite Coffeebar in Reno. I came from San Francisco, CA and after I tried their coffee I would say really the best even compare with lots of coffee shops that I tried in Bay Area. I would definitely recommend to all of my friend once they in town please do tried their coffee before get back to your own town. So this is just a preliminary review because I've only been here a few times and only had drinks, no food. But from the few times I've stopped in, I can say that they have friendly staff and pretty quick service. The outdoor seating area is nice, lots of tables and a fair amount of shade. It's funny how you can forget to write reviews for the places you go all the time... like Coffee Bar! This is my go-to, local coffee spot. They have great coffee, yes, but what sets them apart is their small yet comprehensive menu. They manage to cover the full spectrum of sweet/savory and light/filling across a variety of dietary requirements, all-the-while delivering on flavor. Yes, they aren't the cheapest spot in town to grab a cup of Joe, but they're frequently the place I take out-of-towners when we need some lunch. Not too loud, nice patio, and friendly, genuine service. Maybe 10% of the time their food service is slow, but when that's happened they've apologize profusely and occasionally provided something on the house. I definitely recommend grabbing a coffee to go and taking yourself on a walking tour of the beautiful old homes in Old Southwest! read more

I usually come here to study, always great environment and service. HOWEVER, an online order this morning really disappointed me. I went in and stood by the "online order pick up" sign, all employees saw me and walked by the area, but nobody greeted me or came over to help.... People who walked in after me got their order and I was still standing there, I assume I'm too short for anybody to notice me lol? Had a very poor experience. Previous experiences have been good but I am seeing a decrease in the quality in the recent past. The coffee was moderately good. I also ordered oatmeal. Did not have all the listed ingredients in it. When I asked the condescending guy at the counter regarding this, his report was "what were you expecting"? Most of the food options are overpriced and not very filling. If you want the added cup of siracha it costs $1 because. I wish there were options in the pastry case, but a macaroon is like $4, and anything else like $5 or $6? A chocolate chip cookie is $4 or $5? I know they're big, but isn't that a little overpriced?? The 7 Eleven is next door. I can just go over there and buy snacks for about $2/$3 less. Every time I look at the display case at Coffee Bar for something appetizing I almost always end up only ordering a coffee. Starbucks always has pastries in the display case I want to eat, I only worry about the calories. I guess a lot of that is due to them buying out San Francisco Bakery La Boulange. But I never feel that way about Coffee Bar pastries. It's perpetually cold inside. The owner apparently hates heating bills. I've never been inside and not seen about every customer in a sweatshirt of jacket. On the off chance it's not 30degrees and freezing out and gets up to a balmy 45 or 50 degrees, they'll prop open the door and let all the outside cold air in. In the summer it's the heat let in. There's no insulation on any of the walls. The open brick is nice, but it's not energy efficient. It's an old building, there are cracks and gaps where you can put your had near the wall and feel cold air rushing against it. And the ceilings are high so they're not doing themselves any favors. I really wish they'd clean the cob webs off of all the light fixtures and replace the bulbs on the ones that are out. They clean the restrooms at night, so if they run out of toilet paper, soap or paper towels or anything during the day, you're out of luck. If a customer is particularly messy in one of the restrooms one day, it stays that way all day. Which is a little gross sometimes. There is free WIFI that works a little better now than it used to. The coffee is fine. The baristas are friendly and try to get to know everyone's name or drink order. Matt is perpetually grumpy. I don't think he's ever been happy to see me, incidentally he's also the longest serving employee? He's not snooty, he's just grumpy, and that's just who he is, he flirts with a lot of the girls, so maybe gender is important in winning his favor. The rest are all pretty nice. It seems like they usually enjoy the job at first and then after awhile they get solemn and melancholy. I'm not sure why the job breaks their spirits so. Maybe that's why they have such a high turn over of employees. Management problems? Bad scheduling? Bad teamwork? Gossip? Maybe they just employ a lot of college students that move onto other things. There's plenty of seating room. Even so, it often fills up and is pretty crowded at certain times or days. And there are only outlets for electronics along the outside walls, and only in certain places, so people constantly shift tables about and try to make due, which is a bit of a chaos sometimes. Sometimes there is art on the walls, and that's interesting. It's strange that there seems to be no quality standard or coherence to the kinds of exhibits. It's not a bad cafe, but it could certainly make improvements. read more

I specifically asked the person at the register if the lavender latte has coffee, and she said yes. It didn't. We ordered 3 drinks: lavender latte, oat milk vanilla latte, and oat chai latte, and all of them were bad. The lavender latte tasted like steamed milk with lavender essential oil. You could barely taste the espresso in the vanilla latte, and I don't even know what was wrong with the chai. It tasted so unlike any chai I've ever had in my life. It was just undrinkable. At $5 a cup, we literally threw them away and went to another coffee shop. read more

I always rave about places that purposely put Keto selections on the menu. It's been 2 1/2 years since I've been to the coffee bar as I used to frequent it often before we moved to Florida. Now that we are back I am delighted to say we've spent several afternoons visiting the coffee bar recently and I'm so glad we did. I typically fast for 18 to 20 hours several days a week, so it's nice to have a keto coffee to keep my energy up. Their keto coffee consists of MCT oil and grass fed butter and I typically add heavy cream to it as well in latte form. I come here at lease twice a week now! My whole life I was a Nespresso girl. I'd make them at my house every morning. So when I met my boyfriend Jason and found out he didn't have a coffee pot at home, instead he would drive to Coffeebar every morning. At first, I though why would you drive all the way there when you can just make your own coffee at home? He told me "wait until you try it, you'll understand". The first time he took me there, after my first sip of a seasonal honey almond latte with oat milk, I understood. There's no way you could make something so delicious and creamy from home. Now I go with him on my days off in the mornings. The avocado toast tastes like it came straight out of the forest, it's so fresh and woodsy with the sprouts. Every time we sit down for coffee we always joke with each other about how I used to think I'd be able to make coffee this good from home. The place has gotten too expensive and the quality declined in drinks (the old screw was very good at making these specialty drinks, which was okay paying $7 Latte but right now it's quite terrible. WIFI, forget about it...I get it, they want a faster turn around of people but your old clientele is suffering a bit. A lot of turn over when it comes to Baristas and I don't think they get the proper training to make these expensive drinks. I hope the feedback is taken seriously and make some necessary changes. Today was our first visit, it's a cool little place in a nice neighborhood. Thankfully they have their own parking lot but there's plenty of street parking too, which is good because it was packed. The inside was nice and cozy and it had plenty of seating, not that it mattered because it was so crowded but I can't fault them for that. The customer service was really good, although the guy who took our order didn't seem to believe that I knew what a double shot macchiato would be because he kept asking me if I had ever had one before. I badly needed pure caffeine so it was just what I wanted, I'm just not sure what the questioning about my choice was all about. That being said, when I got it it was great, obviously good quality espresso. My husband got their popular hot chocolate which he wasn't a fan of but I really liked since it tasted like actual chocolate instead of like a powder. He also got an espresso bar which was some kind of sugary chocolate treat, and he loved that. Their to go cups are also really cute. It's out of the way but we'll definitely be back. read more

Coffeebar is reminiscent of what a coffeehouse from the 19th century would feel like - quaint, comfortable, and just a great place where you can let the time lazily pass. I am a big fan of escaping the grind of daily life, and Coffeebar lets you do just that. From the moment you walk in, it's like returning to an earlier age where life was much simpler. Seats and chairs line the lobby in the front, and your gaze is met with the sight of gelato and delicious treats immediately behind the front lobby area. As you walk back, you're met with the smell of good coffee, and the familiar sounds associated with espresso makers, coffee presses, and such equipment. When you go up to place your order in the middle of the long rectangular hall, there's never a long line and the staff are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Further back, there's a larger seating area with larger tables and a space that feels like a cozy retreat from the rest of the world. The best thing is - there's actually more than enough room for tons of people to sit - unlike most Starbucks or other modern day corporately-run coffee shops. In addition to some of the best coffee available (I think they use coffee from Hub Roasters), they also serve great light food dishes, including quiche, muffins, and pastries. I always get the amazingly simple dark roast black coffee, and sprinkle a little cinnamon in on top. Black coffee may not be your thing, but just remember, it wasn't my thing either, until I had REAL coffee (not the Folgers crap or anything pre-ground off store shelves). Some things to be aware of: there's only one restroom in the back, the wi-fi is free but needs a password you can get from the staff at the bar, and the shop provides actual porcelain dishes and cups, but the culture is such that you bus your own table when you're done. Overall, a great place to retreat from the world and get stuff done, whether you have coffee with friends, hop on your laptop for whatever, or dive into a great book, as so many people do there. Well worth the visit and once you do visit, you'll probably be going back there forever. read more
