I had an awful experience with the one in Bradenton so I believed that this one had the possibility to be a better experience. The wait was supposed to be 5-10 minutes and ended up with closer to 15 minutes even though the dining room was probably 15% filled. As we were waiting, we heard a woman storm out exclaiming the fact that she viewed the experience as a waste of money at which point I looked at other Yelp reviews which seemed to correlate with her statement. We decided to give Cody's a chance. The service was quite slow and we weren't seen until 10-15 minutes after we sat down. Drinks were ordered and food was ordered the first time she came to our table and the food still took an additional 40ish minutes. The waters didn't come by for 10-15 minutes and the waitress seemed to disappear. I drank my water in a little less than 5 minutes and it was another 10 minutes before I ended up just getting her attention to retrieve me another one. I ordered the ribeye medium and it came back VERY well-done and also had a nasty gravy on it to cover up the fact that there was absolutely no taste to the steak. I sent it back and after another 10+ minutes, a new one arrived, this time one very slight tick less cooked than well-done. At this point, I had lost my appetite and didn't really care much anymore. Overall pretty awful experience in my opinion and I would advise anyone to never go here. The only reason I'm not giving a 1-star review is because the server was nice and polite even though I had plenty to remind her about (I always remain polite and diplomatic unless they're rude first), and I know some of the things were out of her control, she never was rude and was always apologetic as can be. Cody's used to be so good but it has seriously gone down hill. Take that rinkadink truck out front to the scrapyard and sell the building to a business that's actually going to care about shelling out a decent product. read more

I ordered 2 steak fajitas at 750pm, she said 20 to 25 min. I got there at 8:30. The girl asked my name and I told her, she went to the togo rack looked at a bag then went to kitchen. She came back took my money, took my 35%tip and never saw her again. Waiting in lobby till 750, hostess doesn't seem to care im waiting, I had to get up and say its 20 min passed my pick up time, she said ill go check, she came back and looked at the bag on the to go rack thats been sitting there since I arrived and said "here ya go." No apology or anything. Took my food home and had my cold fajitas. Everyone in this place seemed brain dead and/or extremely over their lives. Not really digging the vibe, much better places to go around this area. I would strongly advise skipping codys roadhouse. read more

Went here for a try and was worse experience ever. Food bland, kitchen staff smoking pot and manager refused to even talk to us! Went back again and tried them as corporate sent gift card to do so. Went back never told us there where eggs in salad or is it listed on menu friend that went has egg allergy and ended up having issues when going home. I had the steak again a let down ! Managers tried to fix. First steak over done and second in so salty it couldn't be eaten( the dog wouldn't eat it either) Funny home front end managers tried to help but Manny the GM never said a word after all this! My bf loves this place so I agreed to dinner there last night. I had a bad experience here about a year ago (a VERY intoxicated patron literally fell over while standing next to me at the bar!), but I went in with an open mind. We requested a table in the bar area and were seated pretty quickly. It was later in the evening and not crowded at all. However, it still took our server a little while to greet us/take our drink order. It also took some time for her to come back with the drinks. We finally ordered burgers; bf asked for medium-well, I requested medium rare. Again, it took a while to get the food. When it arrived, my burger was very well-done and bf's was so overdone that he referred to it as a hockey puck. It took some time (again) for the server to return. When she saw my burger she apologized and put in an order for another one cooked to medium rare. I'm giving this a 2-star rating only bc the server was very nice. Let me start by saying that we are not from the area and had never ate here or at any location before. I really wish I would have looked on here before we did. There was 6 of us total. We ordered a the stick of onion rings...they were not cooked properly. They were hot but under cooked. I will say the rolls were amazing. We ordered multiple steaks. Mine was supposed to be well but was still bleeding horribly and the mashed potatoes didn't have any flavor. Why they didn't butterfly a thick steak for it to be well was beyond me. My husband ordered coconut shrimp and the shrimp was mushy. They ran out of salad after we ordered. They didn't offer to discount it at all and it should have been due to not getting a full meal and my steak being very, very, very undercooked. The service was decent. We had to ask for refills and there was only maybe 10 tables that were occupied, even still I tipped her well. The over all experience was not good at all. This was my first trip to Cody's since I moved here 5 years ago. I saw the kids eat free Monday and Tuesday so I figured I could take the my two grandkids. The place was fairly busy. It was Tuesday evening about 6pm. Hade a 15 minute wait. Thankfully the couple that came in after us but got called before us gave us the table because the realized the host skipped over us. Our waiter Manny was so good. He interacted with the two boys(ages 3 and 10). Manny took great care of our family. Food was decent. Kids liked what they ordered. The chicken tenders tasted more like the oil they were frying in, so they could use some seasoning to improve them. My chicken quesquesadilla was good and would order again. Prices were fair for every meal. Heads up, kids eat free is just that. They don't drink for free lol. Last thing which for me is one of the biggest things. The bathrooms were a stinker. We were waiting for our table outside the restroom entrance and you could smell the urine ten feet outside of them. Restroom is usually the make or break for me. If an establishment keeps the bathroom clean you can normally count on the kitchen being clean. I haven't seen any that have a gross bathroom and a beautiful kitchen. I know most people would not eat in there bathroom lol. Hopefully Cody's can clean it up and we will be back if they do. read more

Server was great UNTIL we asked how much longer after seeing tables seated after us get their food first... then she became disconnected and avoided us. We continue to go back to this restaurant every 6 months or so hoping the Service has improved. The food has always been good but when you sit and wait for 30 minutes for an appetizer and get it after your food comes and keep reminding the waitress to check on it and she goes off to check in other tables or when the order is not correct when it comes or they overcharged and it takes 25 minutes and 4 people to figure out the computer- and I believe we were still overcharged but at that point we had been there over 2 hours for salad and fajitas- that us very frustrating and makes the whole experience not worth going back. There are too many other choices. Again, we keep going back for the food as it's very good. So if you don't mind poor customer service, give the place a try. read more

My spouse and I have visited here 3 times. I was appalled by our entire experience. The woman behind the counter as you walk in berated the four person staff to the point I was embarrassed for them. They went to sing Happy Birthday to a table and on the way back she proceeded to yell at them about what a bad job they did. Our table was located close to the order processing stand. There was enough cursing (including the f word) it was uncomfortable. The poor wait staff were working as hard as they could to take care of a full house and there was only one bartender. This is a Saturday night. We both ordered a 20oz ribeye, which when served looked more like a 14oz, I know this as my grandfather was a butcher. I mentioned this to the manager and he proceeded to argue with me. The onion soup was more bread and broth with just a few onions. The salad was dry lacking enough dressing. Just had a fantastic meal at Cody's in Bradenton Florida. It was customer appreciation day and food and service was outstanding. May was our server, very efficient and customer focused. The salad at this place is the very best! Special dressing is so tasty. Both my husband and I had the 16oz strip steak.The absolute most tender I have had in this particular cut of meat. We've been to Cody's several time because the food is good and the atmosphere fun however... This time the waiter gave terrible service. My daughter ordered wings, he asked "Boneless?" And said no traditional. They came out boneless. The pulled pork sandwich was dry no sauce. My other daughter didn't eat it. Our meals had endless salad with them. I asked when it was coming out he said with meals. I asked for the salad when the meals showed up and salad still wasn't there. He brought after we had finished our meals. Except the wings weren't there yet! I asked to see the manager. The manager didn't come until we were ready to go and she brought my daughter her wings. Didn't give us a second to talk. Just said sorry for the delay and then ran. The waiter came back and asked why my second daughter didn't eat the pulled pork and we replied that us was to dry and chewey to eat. He said yeah they mix the BBQ sauce in with it. When he brought the bill i asked why there was a charge for boneless and traditional wings. He said the boneless were comped below.
