Realizing it's a new location and they are still "in training," our food was good overall but I had to send my filet back as it wasn't cooked properly. All the other food was great! The salads were fresh and the side items were great. I ordered a Gingerbread Man Martini and it was great! The waitress was definitely new and maybe even her first job because she was nice but not attentive at all. Hubby was out of tea several times.

I guess I'm the first person to write a review on yelp for this new location? We went to this location this past Friday evening. First off if you don't want to wait too long to get a table avoid for the time being. It took us an hour to be seated after we were told 25-35 minutes. Maybe after a while of being open they can quote a more accurate time in the near future. Our waitress was nice, busy and not so attentive, but I do realize all the workers are learning how to navigate the new opening of this restaurant. The interior and ambiance is nice, clean and comfortable for a franchise feel. We ordered blooming onion fried chicken, cheese burger, wedge salad, sirloin steak, and loaded fries for an appetizer. The appetizer was not exciting plain fries with some cheese on them and an odd tasting ranch. The fried chicken was really good and the rice served with it was a really nice complement, the mashed potatoes were good, but a little salty, my cheese burger was very good and I was able to taste all the ingredients that one hopes for when eating a burger, the wedge salad was surprisingly good for a franchise, the sirloin steak was cooked properly and pretty decent for the price. Overall it was a mixed feeling meal. The food was pretty good everything else was or is still up in the air. Let's see what future visits are like. The shop is located in a shopping mall so there is plenty of parking. The shop is made for lunch. It is small and there is seating inside and out its not meant for a very large party. On a positive note, they have a multitude of seafood sandwiches and lunch options to enjoy a nice meal. I saw photos of lobster rolls on yelp, so I got the lobster roll. It was so good. Packed with lobster and the bread was delicious. My son and husband got the red snapper sandwich blackened with fries. We were also able to try their clam chowder (delicious) as well as their key lime pie (i am unsure if it's made there but it was very good). The cashier was sweet. The staff made sure that we were happy with the food and for a small cafe I can't ask for anything else. Great lunch spot especially if you want a feel for the keys or some delicious seafood.

We also tried the soups, including the New England clam chowder and lobster bisque, and both were excellent. Unfortunately, I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich and asked for it seared, but it was way overcooked. The tuna was cooked all the way through (brown throughout) and very dry. Next time I come back, I will not be getting the tuna, but definitely the lobster roll. I should of known better, based on the name of the restaurant, but I decided against my better judgement.

The outdoor Tiki area wrapped around the building and had a fun, relaxed vibe that made a great first impression. Our waitress, Rhonda, was excellent. She was friendly, answered all our questions, and knew the menu inside and out. What We Ordered: * Clam Chowder * Lobster Bisque * Maine Lobster Dinner with Corn on the cob and Coleslaw * Phil's Steamer Pot with half Lobster, Corn on the cob, Potatoes, Andouille Sausage, Clams, and Mussels Food Highlights: The soups came out first, and both were excellent. The Clam Chowder was topped with Bacon and Chives. It was the best we've had since moving to Florida--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The Lobster Bisque was Creamy and equally delicious, with great flavor and tasty pieces of Bread mixed in. Our entrées arrived quickly, and we loved both dishes. The Lobster was cooked perfectly in both meals, and everything in Phil's Steamer Pot was hot, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. My wife, who is from Maine, said it was the best Lobster she has had in this area. Even the sides--the Corn on the cob and Coleslaw--were very good, and the Beer was served ice cold. One more thing each table featured a fish dip and crackers--an extra touch we really enjoyed. Fish Market and Final Verdict: Before leaving, we stepped inside to look at the Fish Market and were impressed by how fresh everything looked. The selection was large and added even more to the overall experience. This place was a pleasant surprise and delivered across the board with great Service, Food, Drinks, and Atmosphere. It easily ranks among my top 10 places to visit in the Sarasota area, and I can't wait to go back. For me, Walt's Fish Market earns 5 out of 5 stars. Gulf Coast Terry

However, I feel $39 for a dozen of, very very small, Parmesan garlic oysters on the half shell very expensive. I'm not a big guy, and I personally could've eaten four dozen at those sizes plus my own entree. Overall for two entrees, two local beers, and one appetizer the bill was $135. Quite a bit steep for the amounts served. Kind of the amounts and prices I'd expect to see somewhere not near the ocean like Atlanta. Would I go there again, meh, not impressed enough. My rating would be 7/10. Going elsewhere this evening.

We ordered the shot honey grouper sandwich, bang bang shrimp fries, fried shrimp and grouper bites. Three were weekend specials for $9.99. That price and quality cannot be beat! The hot honey grouper was awesome. Very nice filet of grouper with hot honey on it. Sweet, spicy and freshly cooked. 10/10. Fries were freshly fried and had a nice seasoning. Great meal. My son had the grilled grouper bites. They were cooked perfectly and he devoured them. 2 thumbs up! Other son had the shrimp basket. Fried shrimp were juicy and crispy. Not over battered. Great taste and another 2 thumbs up. Bang bang shrimp fries were really good. Not hot but had great flavor. Fries had a ton of bacon and that yummy sauce drizzled over them. Would get again. 9/10. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Nice outdoor area with about 6 tables. Service was friendly and quick. Price was great for fresh seafood. We drove about 30 minutes and it was worth the drive!

The side red potatoes were a step up from coleslaw. We also tried the lobster roll on an earlier visit. It was bland to OK, but definitely not a price performer. We absolutely love the Ruskin Seafood Market for fresh fish. Very good selection and I guess ultimately we prefer to fix our own seafood.

There was a short wait to be seated, enough time for us to go back to the courtyard and listen to some live music. I had already checked out the menu and knew what I wanted, which was helpful once we were seated in a somewhat dark dining room. They offer more than seafood, but I wanted seafood. They have a Naked Fish section where they offer a few types of fish with many preparation choices. In the end my wife and I both decided on their less expensive Camp Basket and splurged on both a Clam Chowder and a Camp Salad. The chowder was delicious. The serving size was really not large enough to share but we did, and left me wanting more. The salad was fine. The basket was larger than it first appeared with lots of thin cut fries at the bottom. The several pieces of fried oysters and shrimp were flavorful. The basket also had small bites of okra and a fillet of a lightly breaded white fish. Too much food for my wife, enough to fill me up. My plan to try a dessert faded away. Once we paid we headed back to the courtyard to listen to more music before heading out. A very good meal and a pleasant evening, who could ask for more.
