The best tacos I ever had - honestly! The soft tacos are huge and soooo good and I think I never had such a great vegetable filling before. The rice was great too, I didn't like to black beans too much but I tried a bit of the refried beans and they were just delicious!! Do not approach the cook to ask about your order!!!!! I went in Monday night 5-16-22 - The waitress was busy she at least 4 tables and was waiting on guests when I came in. I politely asked the cook for my order and he gave me a dirty look and said "she'll be right with you." I knew the order was ready and sitting on the counter, all he had to do is verify the order name and hand it to me. He was too busy conversing with someone who was sitting at the counter. So I politely waited for the busy girl to be available and she very nicely handed me my order. Was that so hard? We are good customers and tip very well but probably won't be back after this episode. Also, they forgot the guacamole that we ordered. read more

I have always wanted to try it. Definitely more of a tex mex style based off of the entrees we ordered. Caters to the demographics in the area, which is understandable, get your paper. Didn't try the tacos, but they did look good. However, if your craving typical Southern California Mexican food this might not do it. Bar seems popping and fun. The service here is excellent! I really like their taco Tuesdays in my favorite of all the tacos I've tried by far is the shredded beef and I give that a five star rating. The chicken taco was good but the Carna Asada taco was a little bit chewy. The tacos are $1.50 each and they're a little small but the flavors are excellent on the shredded beef taco. read more

We visited the Reno Room this past Tues June 11th about 5pm. The bar is great, the bartender was really nice and helpful, the drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered guacamole from the restaurant side and it was good (salsa needs more spice though). I would have loved to order more food, but was totally turned off by the food server's attitude. She was extremely rude and bothered I asked a question -that she didn't answer, but threw the menu down for me to figure it out (what kind of quesadillas do you have?). It was very disappointing since I was enjoying everything else. A bad server is horrible for business and that chick was lame. There are so many happy helpful people in the service industry; hire someone who will enjoy their job and the establishment they represent! read more

The food was good and so was the waitress but the guy working behind the counter was handling dirty dishes and then rinsed his hands off without using any soap before digging his hands into all the toppings he put in the tacos. Great Taco Tuesday deals and solid margaritas (also on the all-day Taco Tuesday Happy Hour menu). The tacos are fresh, packed with meat, and go really well with the margaritas. Usually I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but I'm very disappointed in them tonight. I paid about $40 on Grubhub to deliver food from there. The driver sent us the absolute wrong order. I contacted the driver but he refused to respond. Will NEVER order from Grubhub again. So I called Coco Renos to tell them the situation and see if I can pick up our order. I told them exactly what was in my order and they said I couldn't pick up my order, I had to pay another $40 and order on Grubhub again! I was so mad. Who can afford to pay $80 for a meal that a driver messed up on and the restaurant should have checked to make sure that the correct order was going to the right person. This is my first bad review on Yelp, but I will never order from Grubhub again or will I be going to Coco Renos again. read more

Okay came back for another Cancun shrimp salad and there was no way I could finish this..also tried the tacos...had the marinated pork.. very good! Delicious and marinated nicely. Worse experience ever. I popped in for some Mexican food and a margarita and was given a raspberry "frozen" margarita which was pretty just blended ice in a dirty glass. I had my boyfriend Send it back to just get a margarita on the rocks and the bartender just blended the same drink up and add a huge amount of raspberry. I called the waitress over and said I'm sorry I don't want this drink. She offered to change it for something else and I was so disappointed at that point I didn't want any drink at all. So I finish my food with no drink or even water. then my boyfriend goes to the bar to close out the tab so we can leave and The bartender still had the frozen margarita on the bill. They had a conversation and she pretty much said nope I made the drink u can't take it off the tab. The frozen drink was still sitting at the bar collecting flies...she basically charged us for a drink that sat at the bar. I asked to speak to a manager and waited for 15 min and no one came out to resolve the issue. So a waisted saturday afternoon with cold food and charged to something I didn't even get. read more

Good food, terrible service, especially one waitress who "served" us last night, 11/22/2015. Full disclosure, I went with Toxic Toast Records (whose review you can read below.) I had gone there before with him, and she overcharged us before as well. Even that time, not only did they overcharge us, but she had a piss poor attitude as well. My meal was not comped that time. He had gone on subsequent visits and had to argue with this waitress about the charges, he had his meal comped, but considering the terrible fucking service and the gall to suggest that he should pay anything other than what's reflected on the menu, I'd say it was deserved. When I say overcharged, she charged us more than the menu stated - regardless of what anyone says that is overcharging and it seems like it is a regular practice. Until the menu and listed prices are changed on the actual menu, the prices on the menu are the correct charge. Well, last night the waitress was there again. My friend texted me to let her know that she was there, and I thought about not coming. THAT'S HOW TERRIBLE SHE IS. She never interacted with us once, except to take our order. No greeting. No wave, no nothing. She side-eyed us the entire time, but didn't check on us, didn't refill my water, When she dropped off the check, she didn't even come to our table, but reached over and literally dropped it on our table. On our way out, no goodbye or thank you for coming. Even when my friend said "Thank you" to her, she ignored him. Maybe it's not fair to give this place one star for just one waitress. After all the other servers I have had here are nice and pleasant, and the food is pretty good. However, her attitude and service are preventing me from going again. read more

Looked online and ordered a quesadilla and a taco and enchilada plate, and first was surprised when I picked it up and got home and got two tacos a chicken and carne asada instead . Whatever. The tacos were alright. Beans were real mediocre, really dry. The steak quesadilla was better, but was pretty stunned when I got the check and their pricing apparently doesn't match what's on their website and my total was almost $27. Coming from a fabulous Tequila-Tasting party, we were all very hungry and craving chips and salsa. My boyfriend is used to my constant food cravings so sometimes he won't pay much attention because it usually goes away after a few minutes. But this night in particular, we were all craving something crunchy and spicy. And trust me, it was not going away! We followed our friend Brad's car and saw the sign for Coco Renos. Regardless of it being a late Friday night, we had absolutely no trouble parking. We walked to the door and the little restaurant was getting ready to close. We ordered a round of Dos Equis, some Carne Asada tacos, a mushroom quesadilla for Sukhraj, and of course...chips and the glorious salsa! Aaaahhh...Glorious Salsa! How I love thee! The salsa was freakin' amazing, hot and spicy and the chips were fresh, warm and slightly salted. I loved my taco so much, I don't remember how I finished it! By the time I was planning on stealing a piece of Sukhraj's quesadilla, the restaurant was closed and we got pushed into another room within the restaurant that seemed like a dark, loud dive bar. We stopped here on our way to the long beach aquarium after reading they were veggie friendly, and I am SO glad we did! The Veggie burrito is AMAZING! It's huge too...and SO filling! There is Jicima (sp?) in the burrito which is a great and tasty touch! The free chips and salsa are freshly made and super delcious, as it the corn relish! (I uploaded a pic of my awesome burrito here on yelp, check it out!) Oh, and the Cadillac margaritas are super tasty and super strong...just the way I like them! Head over to Coco Reno's when you are in the mood for delicious mexican food! My only warning is that the place is TINY...so it's probably not a good place to take the entire family out to lunch! read more

I was going to be in Long Beach for some work and I reached out to couple friends to see if they are available to meet up for food and drinks. Looked this place up on yelp and decided to come here. When I walked in I was little surprised in regards to how small this place is. Their kitchen is on one side and then they have 4 tables with 3-4 seats per table. As I was finding a table to sit, I noticed a door and asked the cook whether we are allowed to go inside that door and if its a part of the restaurant. To my utter surprise there is other end of the restaurant - named RENO ROOM, with more seating, a pool table and a bar. However they don't have A/C so it gets bit hot in there. Reno Room is more of a dive bar atmosphere and you can order food from Coco Renos. I opted to try the Vegetarian tacos. Our server recommended for us to try their Blackened Tacos. I would say that both of them were pretty good. I liked the corn avocado relish on the blackened tacos. However, I liked their tofu tacos better though, tofu was make to perfection and the serving is huge.They basically offer a vegetarian option with mushroom, tofu and veggies for any of their dishes. Their salsa is good and flavorful, I think we had to ask our server to refill our chips and salsa at least 5 times. P.S. One of my friend was running late and once when he came, he hurt his finger while opening the main door [it is pretty heavy in his defense]. He was slightly annoyed because once he walked inside no one acknowledged the fact that he hurt himself while opening the door and stepping on tiny step before entering the restaurant.. Coco Renos has so much potential, but misses the mark in my opinion. It has a "taco stand" theme and located next to a bar so you get a full drink menu. You can't really go wrong with that. And to their credit, the food that they serve isn't bad. Their tacos come loaded with lettuce, cheese and a lot of other unnecessary items. To me a good "street taco" is a double wrapped corn tortilla, carne asada, onion, cilantro and salsa with a good kick. To get that here, you need to special order it. The tacos were of average size and the meat had a nice flavor to it. Unfortunately, two tacos comes out to a whopping $6.95. That's $3.50 a taco, which is a bit pricey if you ask me. I think that if they served real "taco stand" food at real "taco stand" prices, I think this place could do much better. read more

Just stopped in for my blackened mushroom fix. Again, as always , FANTASTC!!!! I had not been her in 6 months, WTF?!?!?!? What was i thinking????? So I glad I stopped by to see the "New Look". The re-did the coubter tops with these super cool "Loteria" tiles and they are the cool "old school" versions like when I usta play them camping when i was a child with my familia there is also a real cool mural and new paint!!!!! LOOKS SUPER COOL!!! Its always so nice to come back to a place and get the same warm welcoming, great service and INCREDIBLE FOOD everytime. I've given this place a few chances. The girls are more rude than friendly, I think only one of the girls has been nice to us. But the main reason why I just can't eat there is because of the cooks!!! They go out on the back and smoke or whatever and they don't wash their hands. Ok maybe some of them might.. but they don't wear gloves and they touch the food then put it on the plate. For example if you get a taco they just put their hand in their lettuce container and grab it with their hand and put on the food. Use gloves people! you are touching so many things and then touch the food that you are serving. Disgusting. read more

Decent Mexican "hole in the wall" off of Broadway & Redondo. I really enjoyed their tasty nachos... They're pretty bomb! The atmosphere here is neat because it's intimate - it's tiny, but there is a unexpected connected bar in the next room where you can bring your food and drinks to. I like the set up a lot. There isn't much seating, so good luck if you go in at a busy time. Service was quick and attentive. They also bring you yummy chips and salsa to the table. I would definitely recommend this place for some late night tacos or nachos around this area. Of course, there are better options if you're looking for good Mexican food, but this one is sufficient for the immediate area. read more
