Fish tacos

Food was great! I got the fish tacos. Chips were fresh. The star was the tortilla soup. Family business. Support local businesses. Service was fast and delightful. Great for a date.

Debbie's Chicken Chimichanga - rich in flavor with sour cream sauce

This isn't authentic Mexican but if you know that going in you should be fine. Their chips and salsa taste fresh, the salsa is mild and tasty with some chunks. My favorite is the Debbie's Chicken Chimichanga - I haven't gotten anything else (maybe a salad once?) The sour cream sauce is a nice change to red or green sauce. The chicken is tender and flavorful (chicken stock and seasonings), the fried tortilla light and flakey. Seems like it's a small mom and pop place, so the service is a tad on the slow side with the food taking a bit to get to the table. Because we know this, we don't show up starving. They make up for the slowness with good food and nice servers.

Solid local Mexican food with a unique twist. Cocolito's has friendly staff and service, a pleasant Southwest-style interior, and food with fresh ingredients and unique flavors. Like any good Mexican food place, the chips and salsa are free and they aren't stingy with refills. The salsa is good if a bit salty and very little spice (typical of most Utah County Mexican food places). What sets them apart from other local Mexican food places are their takes on some of the classics. They have a great chimichanga which has a crunchy fried exterior and meaty interior but also is topped with a cheesy sour cream mixture that really takes the flavor to another level. The fish tacos are another highlight with a light breading and tender cod that doesn't overdo the sauce and a yummy cabbage slaw on top. I also like their beans which are a mixture of black and red refried for a more rich texture and taste. This is one of the better places in downtown PG to stop by on a weeknight for dinner.

Came here a couple of times already so this review is overdue. Decent Mexican food, but the prices are a bit high in my opinion. They don't have any weekday lunch specials, and if they start doing this, they might have more foot traffic in their restaurant during lunch hour. But the chips are warm, salsa is a bit bland though - had to put a bit of salt in there and mix a bit of the spicy salsa to give it the right kick. They do actually have a good sizzling chicken fajita platter (almost $13). This review would've been 4 stars, BUT the amount of guacamole and sour cream that is served with the platter is like a TEASPOONFUL size. When I asked if I can have more, they actually charge for more, so I didn't get more. I can understand some folks might not even consume the sour cream/guacamole that comes with it, so I can see why you would serve it in a small portion. BUT there are others like me, who actually eat it with their meal. If price or waste of food is an issue, maybe they should consider asking people if they actually want their plate served with the sour cream/guacamole. Just a suggestion! However, I do love that their horchata is bottomless!

Got these fajitas last time. Carnitas also come on a hot plate like this

Very good food and service. I like them better than Los Hermanos or Mi ranchito. Give them a shot.

The food was fine, service was a little slow but polite, music was tiresome. They did overcharge my credit card for the meal, however.

And as it is the same price as the basic margarita it's a great value for a premium drink. As far as the food goes, it's the best Mexican I have had since moving here from AZ. Yes, if you read some of my other reviews I have said that before, but it keeps being true. And one of my very best friends that is actually from Mexico agrees, this is the best she has had too. Add in absolutely amazing service from a friendly and attentive staff and they more than earned the five stars I gave them!

But wow! It has undergone a complete remodel and revamp of the menu. The food was always affordably passable, but now? This place could exist in Park City - both as regards the ambience and the menu, but the prices are still super affordable! They have added a BUNCH of new plates that are presented like they're on Top Chef, but you can still get street tacos à la carte for $.99 as well! Live music on Friday evenings, a full bar, it's just really fabulous. Do yourself favor and try this little-known place. You won't regret it!

I got #15 combo the first time I went, and #14 the second time (pictured). Wish I would've got pictures of more but we came super hungry, the phone didn't get time to eat. My wife got the giant fajita quesadilla and didn't need to eat to for 24 hours. The tortillas they use for the tacos, etc are phenomenal. Sopapillas so so good. The staff is so friendly, we were warmly greeted by a multiple staff each time. Suzie was our server the first time and she was 10 out of 10. Very nice to our young kids and even knew to bring them spoons for their rice and beans. The manager or owner or whoever wears the shirt and tie was funny and friendly. A very warm individual. Inside is great you feel like you're in the southwest. Can't wait to be in Provo again to eat here.

We were seated promptly upon entering.and within 2-3 minutes of being seated we were delivered chips salsa and the fresh guacamole gal also arrived. We decided on a half bowl of guacamole and watched her make it in front of us. Our server stopped by and we ordered waters and two margaritas. 25 minute after being seated we still had no waters or napkins/silverware!. My daughter mistakenly got a jalapeño in her guacamole and because we had no napkins or water she had no choice but to spit it out into the tortilla bowl. The chips and salsa didn't taste fresh. We finally receive our waters and margaritas about 35 min after being seated. We had ordered our margaritas on the rocks, no salt. They were delivered with salt. Oye! This place is so incredibly loud inside. I was ready to go before our dinner was served. Our dinners finally arrived and we couldn't fill up our bellies fast enough. We again asked for silverware. Our server Jaime never came to check on us. My husband flagged him down for a water refill, boxes and our check so we could get out of there. None of us finished our food as it was just way too loud for our liking. Food was decent but not incredible. I had the chicken flautas and they were plain just chicken no cheese and in flour tortillas. I did enjoy the side of beans. My husband had the Combination Guadalajara which was a beef tostada, a beef enchilada, a beef taco and a chile verde burrito . As far as food goes it tasted pretty authentic. Service was subpar and the noise horrific. Not sure if I would give this place a second chance.

My burger was flavorful and juicy enough that a napkin was required. If is was to ask for one thing, it would have been stronger flavor profiles for their speciality drinks.
