I was really disappointed with my experience at Joe Banditos in Springville. The queso was $8 and the portion was shockingly small. It was maybe four bites total, nowhere near what you'd expect for that price. The flavor was fine, but it's hard to enjoy when it's gone almost instantly. For a Mexican restaurant, queso should be something you can actually share or at least feel like you got value for. Paying $8 for what felt like a sample-size portion isn't acceptable, and it made the whole meal feel overpriced. I won't be ordering the queso again. read more

First of all, when the host seated us, he literally tossed the menus onto the table from 2 feet away. We received our food pretty quickly and it was so DELICIOUS. Not once did anyone service us or checked on us. After about 10 minutes of eating, the server just dropped off the receipt without even asking us, if we wanted or needed any to-go or how everything was. . Another 10 minutes we finally got up and and asked for them. After we got our own to-go boxes, the server finally came to our table and asked if he could take our dishes. That was it. I have to type my orders out do to speech impairment. I typed out are family order, each order was separated with a line between them. I just do not understand why they cannot read a print out. I move the font to 36 to make sure it large enough. But no, they cannot even read or submit the order right. They took my order and added to my dad combo meal. He was able to catch it before leaving. I have a very hard time eating, so I need to make adjustments so I can get food down. I do not like making adjustments, but this is a most for me to eat. They redid my order, I asked for all beans. When my dad gets home with our order, I had all rice. With eating issues, rice does not go down good. I just do not understand how they cannot get a total order right when it is all printed out for them. This says the person who input the order cannot read. read more

Food was nasty and so was the waiter. The girl taking orders was very off and it seems like if you ain't white you're not getting good service. ( food is horrible anyways) They also mess up an order and endanger my friend life since he can't have onions. When asking for a replacement on the order they mess up the waiter was rude... and make comments like " so you just want the meat" in a rude matter. We are from California so we are not use to this type of discrimination! Don't go here we! We did because everything close early and it was kind of the only place open. Easily the best complimentary chips and salsa of any Mexican restaurant in the surrounding area. I would sell my soul for the recipe (seriously, please teach me Joe) It's so good, you can order it by the tub to go! I eat at Joe's regularly because the food is always hot and delicious and the service is always friendly and helpful. I always get the #6 tacos and my husband loves the enchiladas. Their shredded beef has amazing flavor. Their soda can also take on any soda shops. While the restaurant itself could use some updates and cleaning, you can't argue with the prices. We always walk out feeling super satisfied for a fair price. We will continue to be loyal customers for years to come! read more

We were seated right away but were waiting for a couple more to join our group. Got our drinks quickly, but after waiting 30 minutes, no one took our food order. Finally got the attention of the waitress that took our drink orders and she said we had to wait for our waitress. After another 20 minutes, we were finally able to order. Food was blah. The beans were barely warm and had a crust on them (tasted old). Rice was okay. Veggies were lacking freshness. The fajitas had barely any peppers in them, mostly onions and some meat (seriously, only 3 thin slices of peppers included). For the kids' plate taco, we got fries, and they were horrible. I'm not sure how they made them, but they should not be given to children. The chips were okay, and it was cool that the salsa came with individual serving containers to stop double dipping in the main bowl. The restaurant itself is old and outdated. The chairs felt flimsy, and there were chunks missing out of the tables. Floors and walls looked dirty. The bathroom was the dirtiest I've seen in a restaurant in a long time. Overflowing trash cans, paper towel dispenser that barely worked, dust clogged vents and dirty sink, doors, and floor. We're traveling from Arizona so this is a new place For us to visit. It's situated near a busy town and the mountains are nice in this area. It's Average Mexican food. Their rice wasn't too flavorful. White rice and tomato sauce? Idk. The Mexican rice tastes different than an Arizona Mexican restaurant. Seated quickly . our service was a little below average. Waitress warned us about the hot plates. We didn't get a 2nd refill of chips with salsa. Nor did she stop by and check to see if our table needed refilled drinks . No drink refills. No chip refills. She was more attentive to others and skipped her customer service on our table of 4. We stopped by on a Wednesday night so not as busy as on a weekend. read more

This place is a such a paradox. They do nearly everything right when it comes to food and service, and there is always a crowd there to enjoy it. However, it is one of the dirtiest, run-down restaurants in the valley. I'm not sure how they pass health inspections unless the kitchen is so much cleaner than the rest of the restaurant. There are crushed chips all over the floor, the tables are sticky, and when they do wipe down the tables, it looks like they are using rags that they just cleaned a motorcycle with. There are large white barrells just left out in the middle of the floor that are covered in dirt and grime. That said, why didn't I give it one star? Because the food is amazing! It takes some pretty great food to get me to return to a place that gives me such anxiety about health and safety. Frankly, the food is worth the risk. It is served hot and tastes fresh. The fish tacos, bandidos, enchiladas and burritos are flavorful and amazing. The salsa is some of the best at any restaurant in the valley. Bottom line...if you just close your eyes while you are in the restaurant, 4 of your 5 senses will have an amazing time. Just don't open your eyes to view your surroundings. read more

This is a local favorite-ask anyone who lives in the area, and chances are they have been to this restaurant-and they probably like it. So when my dad picked it for his birthday dinner, I was on board. Arrive early-the parking lot is atrocious and extremely limited. You can park on the side street, but even that gets full after the dinner rush begins. The inside is pretty simple-reminds me of someone who redid their patio to host more friends for summer barbecues. Not fancy, but adequate. However, it does get very loud and the sound bounces off all the walls quite a bit. If you want a quiet, intimate dinner-this isn't for you. The food is great! Chips and salsa are a favorite of the locals-lots of people get an order to go. I didn't do that, but I sure ate my fair share at dinner. This place is pretty good. We went in on a weekend night (Saturday) with a 7 person table and we were seated pretty promptly which was definitely a bonus. The chips and salsa were to die for. For being the free appetizer they give out, 10/10 would go here just for that. I got a combo plate with three entrees and I was kinda "meh" about it. I chose a shredded beef taco, shredded beef taquito and a green Chile verde enchilada. The shredded beef was not my favorite. I think it has an off taste to it and most of the table agreed. The chicken Chile verde though was amazing!! Definitely would get that the next time around instead of sampling. My brother-in-law recommended this restaurant, so we had lunch here today. It's on the same side of the street as La Casita which is one of our favorite Mexican places. Joe's parking lot is much bigger, and it is roomier inside with booths and tables in two different sections. There is also bar seating. Alex was our server and did a fantastic job. They have complimentary tortilla chips and salsa with individual bowls. Our food arrived quickly but everything was very hot. I don't like warm cheese enchiladas. The restaurant was hot & smelled like hot oil & corn chips. It was very busy & noisy. Screaming children and busy waiters. I just wanted food. I should've ordered something else maybe. I'll try it again another time of the day & order something better than just cheese enchiladas. This was all I ate. Sometimes I just get something boring if I feel overwhelmed. Like this place and would give the 4 stars but 1 out of 3 visits was not great, service was terrible and took a long time for us to see our waitress and get our food and the place was not extremely busy, weird. The other two times the waiters were on the ball. Two visits had tacos, beef, chicken and pork that were a 4 on the taco scale. Never had green sauce served hot before and was a surprise, like it better cold and switched to the red. Meats were tender with nice flavor and toppings were sufficient. Chips are good and like their salsa over their close by competitor. Third visit was beef and chicken fajitas and give it another 4. Will certainly go back especially because ur more likely to get a seat and depending on the station, you might get the waiter over the waitress which is a plus. It's hard to fall short with Mexican food but the way it happens is usually something as simple as service. Tonight is a super busy evening for the staff and all are running around and have little time to check on tables. The chips and salsa ran out without awareness from the staff. Drink menus (margaritas) is not included with the main menu and has to be requested separately. The noise level does not provide any sort of relaxation while dining here either. Guacamole was pleasantly tasty but I question if it was freshly prepared for me. I had the Maui fish tacos and substituted corn for the flour tortilla due to personal preference--the tacos were decent but the cilantro lime vinaigrette was the bit albeit a tad sweet for the tacos. The record Evans we're the best of the menu items but the Spanish rice lacks flavor and was mildly undercooked. Based on the number of patrons here it must be a local favorite but I didn't think it was that great for the pricing of food items. read more

I always grab some for my parents in Vegas when I go down. Service is good as well, no complaints there, but make sure your whole party is there or else they won't seat you. Just had lunch at Joe's! It was absolutely amazing! If you're having a bad meal there you may be ordering the wrong food. Been eating there for nearly 30 years. After a year or so I ordered the "Bandido" with chili verde pork. Haven't eaten anything different since then. They are delicious! The salsa is super good too! I order a full Bandido and share it with my husband! But you can order half if it's just for one. Overlook the decor and condition of the restaurant. Just get the "Bandido" and smile! read more

Their chips and salsa is some of the best we have had, we are sooo in love! We started with the queso fundido which was PHENOMENAL. The queso was so gooey and flavor packed and went perfectly with the warm tortillas and onion & pepper mix. It was our favorite thing we tried and one of our top five favorite appetizers! We tried the fajita burrito with both red and green sauces -didn't really care for the green but the red was good- and a new menu item, the street tacos! These were delicious, and you've gotta squeeze the fresh lime over the steak for the the full experience. The chips and salsa and Queso appetizer make this meal a 10/10, and the other entrees are good but not quite as good as the other things. We will be back though! read more

The salsa is great. But the rest of the food has had major changes. What used to be delicious chunks of chicken and stewed veggies on their signature dish is now uncooked onions and bell peppers and a massive slop of shredded chicken. There's no flavor to the dishes anymore. If you want to experience budget cuts on a menu then give this place a try.
