Dry chicken, cold beans, bathrooms broken, dirty windows. Staff could care less if you existed. Never going back. Hey, Don Joaquin American Fork, don't let the dump in Springville use your name. read more

We had this for dinner to go on Friday and it was delicious. I got a Carne Asada burrito, which was super tasty. I loved the tortilla. It tasted very fresh. The burrito was bursting with meat that was very tender and flavorful. It was also rice and beans in the burrito, which I feel that the burrito needed more because it was overpowered by the meat. There was the gooey mozzarella cheese as well, but it definitely could have used more. Overall, this is a very solid burrito and definitely something I would order again. I absolutely love the green avocado salsa as well. It compliments the flavors of the burrito and the meat perfectly and is the right amount of heat for me. read more

I've been meaning to try this place out for ages! I finally went last night and was pleasantly surprised at the improvements made to the building since Betos was there. It looks like a wall was removed, new flooring and better lighting throughout. The menu boards are big and clear to read. But there is a little asterisk saying that the prices are for cash transactions only. In this day and age just list what card price will be. Ordering was easy and we got a regular taco, a gringa taco and a burrito plus a Jamaica Fresca. They gave us a little buzzer for once our food was ready and there was a line when we walked in but it was fast moving. We had 3 kinds of meat: Asada, Sudadero and Pollo. Each one was tender and perfectly cooked. SO YUMMY! The tortillas were fresh and hot. We always appreciate grabbing our own toppings and were happy with their little section. We did notice that the limes are not self serve, they come with your plate. The Jamaica Fresca was a new one for us, very floral and sweet. My dinner partner didn't care for it but I thought it was okay. read more

Fast, cheap tacos. The quesadillas are amazing. My favorite is the salsa bar that lets me add unlimited cilantro. I wish they had a soda fountain. Anytime but lunch the food comes out fast. Not great for those sensitive to spice. read more

The food was great. The prices were great. We had gringas and a burrito. I wish they had more locations.

Been trying to find good Mexican food since moving from San Diego. The food is not bad, customer service was great. The place is really tiny anywhere you go you're always in someone's way. read more

Another Taco review after hearing about a nice Mexican place from the neighbor but after checking the review it was rated a 3 & right up the street was Don Joaquin with a 4 rating so quick change in plans. Now this place is small and drove past so needed to make a u-turn. This is a roadside taco joint inside a larger building. Inside was 4 tables. This place is all takeout for the most part but we stayed to eat. Stepped right up and ordered 4 Tacos, Tripe (crispy chewy), Pollo (tender, juicy, flavorful), Carne Asada (tender, not greasy nice flavor) and Chorizo (crispy tender& spicy). Unlike the last place, these tacos were not soaking wet or pre-covered with toppings which were located at separate serving station. Was served in 5 minutes. Best tacos thus far in Utah. Place not much to look at but its all about the food. I rated this place a 4 but it's really a 3.7-3.8 Friendly staff and authentic Mexican tacos. read more

For the price, you really can't beat it. Not the best Mexican food ever, but for the price, definitely a good spot!

They have a location in Springville utah now. It's Not as busy as Provo. They don't have diced habanero with pineapple. Which is typically my favorite. Soda is in cans and not a soft drink machine. But their tacos are so dang good!!! read more

This place is super tasty! Noticed it a while back when visiting the donut shop next door in Springville, and finally went to try it out. It's a hole in the wall place that serves street tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and more. We got a bunch of carne asada street tacos, as well as a few carne asada "gringa" tacos, which is basically a street taco but with a bunch of melted mozzarella cheese on it. Those were the surprise delight of the meal, they were super tasty. Also we got our son a quesadilla and that was super tasty as well, so we expect to try some of their other options as well. Obviously with the Coronavirus stuff going on right now the dine-in was closed, but normally they have a little bar of a variety of toppings typical to what you'd find at a street taco place. Cilantro, onion, radish slices, and a variety of salsas. They have specials every day such as their 1 dollar taco Tuesday. I also hope to come back and try their tres leches cake, which they were sadly out of by the time I came in to order. If you like street tacos, this place won't disappoint. read more

Yum, be prepared for authentic Mexican street tacos! If your in to Taco Bell I would not recommend this place, it helps if you speak Spanish and if you order is Cabeza, Campechano, Tripa or Lengua your in for a slice of Mexican heaven. I have heard the Quesadillas and burritos are excellent, and for the Gringo they have the Gringas lots of extra cheese added American/Amex style. If your truly brave and want the specialty some locations will have the infamous Menudo a culinary delight. read more

These are easily the best tacos I've had in Utah County. It's a well-kept secret and I only happened to notice it one day while driving by on old state street into Springville. Be prepared- it *used to be cash-only, so the first time I poked my head in I couldn't order. I got a feel for the place, though, in which I heard mostly Spanish (a beautiful sound) ~98% of the time and it smelled AMAZING. We finally made it back tonight and we were pretty impressed. The menu is simple, affordable, and delicious. These guys are definitely worth the drive. I got three tacos: carne asada, chorizo, and al pastor and they were all delicious. The al pastor taco came with a slice of grilled pineapple on top which was way tasty, and the plate came with a grilled onion. YUM. The salsa bar was simple, but more than sufficient - fresh limes, red and green sauce, onions, cilantro, radishes, and pickled? onions. I had lime, fresh onion, and cilantro on mine (plus a dollop of the different sauces), but the tacos are excellent as they come. If you're looking for some cheap and tasty eats (and some enjoyable eavesdropping in Spanish), give this place a try. *at the end of the visit, we asked one of the guys what the hours were and tried to confirm that it was cash only - he was really funny about it - "yeah, actually we have square now, AND we take checks... and if you don't have money, come and we'll feed you anyway." Love these guys, love this place. read more

Solid taco joint. Both this location and the location in Springville serve up some great simple street tacos. They've got a good fresh salsa bar, the tacos are well seasoned and delicious; and honestly, who doesn't love $1.00 taco Tuesday. They are lightning fast in fulfilling your orders, and I would prob recommend getting your order to-go as the location itself can get a bit crowded and noisy. read more

Okay I have eaten in 3 different one restaurant of this chain and they all suck! The salsa had no flavor, they meat is not seasoned and the tortilla are like if they were warmers up in the microwave. A taco place had to have good salsa with good flavor and the meat has to be seasoned for it to be worth it. So glad I came in taco Tuesday because if I had to pay full price I would have been more upset. read more

I love tacos of all kinds -- but the tacos at Don Joaquin are so good you'll wonder how a place in Springville, Utah could produce such shockingly good tacos. I really think this is the greatest food scene secret in Utah. People are lined up at Cafe Rio when they could be getting the best tacos in Utah just across town. Ricardo, the owner, is a genuinely nice guy. He is friendly, happy to talk to you, and wants you to love his food. I took a group of 18 people in last weekend and to say thanks he made me 3 of his special tacos. The carne asada is delicious...he said he buys it fresh each day from a butcher down the street. The al pastor tastes perfect. But, ask Ricardo for a BIP taco...it's not on the menu. But the BIP is a combo of steak, bacon, and ham and then wrapped in Mexican cheese. Tonight I took my wife and 4 kids...and it's the 3rd weekend in a row that I've visited. Be aware, the place is very small...only a few tables, but it's worth cramming in to get these delightful things. read more

If the Taco Bell crunchy taco is the only kind of taco you know about, get ready for something much more authentic. Fresh grilled meat on a couple of steamed corn tortillas is how these tacos are served. Then you dress them up at the toppings bar however you see fit. These tacos are very tasty. You may think that two or three will do, but when you are done you will want a couple more. Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, which means you get even more for your money. read more

Just passing through, seeking best tacos around and I believe I found them. Authentic, tasty salsas and condiments, so big for the price on a street taco. This is one of those places that is so close. Ok. I am giving it a three stars, but if you do take out I would say four. The reason? The place can be pretty nasty inside. The tacos are nice street tacos, they are fast and well done. I tried a few kind. The downside, and the part I can never get over in so many places in Springville is that it is a dump. I feel better eating outside so i give that a three star. Inside and i only want to give three, at best. I was considering one less. The condiment try is so so. Nothing great, nothing terrible. It is not expensive. The place is too small for the small crowds I have seen in there. It has always been really loud. Pros: Good tacos. Cons: Nasty place, dirty tables, not mopped well, small ,loud read more

Street tacos, and only street tacos! My friend brought me here after a long research quest and reports that the experience was exactly right! Sadly they were out of pork so we just had asada and the chorizo. Awesome hours and fantastic flavor. Lots of value for the cost especially on taco Tuesday with 99 cent deal. It was worth the trip from Pleasant Grove. My friend prefers less meat per taco for flavor balance but let's be honest, for my money, definitely please load up the protein! :D read more

You want amazing tacos?! This is the place! The pork taco is my favorite! The service is quick and they are super friendly! Taco Tuesdays is a great day to go to get a deal. I would definitely define this place as a whole-in-the-wall restaurant! There are only four tables, but I haven't had a problem with seating when I've gone. The toppings they have for the tacos are fantastic. The red onions are a great addition and their "hot" sauce would be ranked as spicy but not too spicy, then again this is coming from a gal that likes spice on everything I wouldn't recommend it if you can't handle hot stuff. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great taco! read more

First of all: 99 cent tacos on Tuesday! This place isn't much to look at. It's located in the same building as a gas station, looks pretty bland, and you could easily miss it if you're not looking. The inside is the same: just a few tables, a small counter to place your order, and the grill. But these tacos are the real deal! If you like authentic street tacos you have to check this place out. It is complete with a self-serve salsa and condiments bar. read more

Always really good and they hook it up most of the time. I feel like they are still really good but like 6 or more months ago they were prime. I always get a burrito and idk if it's just the Provo location but it's 5$ any burrito for burrito Monday. read more

I give these tacos a perfect score; however, the overall score experience is a four. It's a small place with only 4 or 5 tables. They are getting more and more attention and will eventually have to expand their space. The tightness of the vicinity makes it uncomfortable to eat sometimes when there's someone standing right behind you waiting for their order. Definitely a good idea to call in so that you don't wait for too long. And if there's space for your group to sit, consider yourselves lucky! read more

Tacos Don Joaquin - Dos tacos al pastor y dos de asada. - Mexican Near Me - Springville, Utah

This place isn't all that. Please don't believe the 5 stars it has. I went ordered 3 tacos. The lady behind the register was like insisting on speaking only Spanish (I speak Spanish so not to big of a deal) but it's a bit annoying. What if I didn't know a lick of Spanish? Then what? I ordered two de pastor and one de tripa. They gave me three de carne asada. Good thing I opened the box and checked the tacos before I left. I mean I even asked her how they prepare the tripa and we talked about it for a minute before I ordered them. I told her that my tacos were wrong and she said (in Spanish) "I thought you said carne asada" Wow c'mon give me a break. Got home to eat the tacos and the meat was very dry and small proportions. Don't even get me started about how dirty the floors were, how small the dining area is, non of the tables were wiped clean, and THE FLIES. Won't waste my time or money here again. read more

I was in Springville for a seminar, and found Don Joaquin on Yelp. It did not disappoint! It's a hole in the wall with authentic, amazing tacos. I got the el Pastor, lingua and chorizo tacos, all of which were delicious! Three was enough for lunch, but they were so good I could have eaten more. If you are looking for nice and fancy, don't come here. If you are looking for some authentic tacos that come up fast, this is your place. read more

I just happened to be here on a Tuesday and noticed the 99 cent taco Tuesday sign on the door. I haven't been to Mexico, but this place seemed fairly authentic. I was really happy with the service though. I asked the lady at the desk what the cabeza taco was like, and she brought out a whole cabeza taco for me to try. I tried paying for it, but she said it was a sample. That's my kind of sample! So I ordered an al pastor taco just to try something else, which was pretty satisfying. You put all your own sauces and toppings on the taco yourself. This place is a good bet for taco Tuesday. read more

Tacos Don Joaquin - So good the food didn't stay on the plates long. The quesadillas are bomb. - Mexican Near Me - Springville, Utah

It's pretty simple. The carne asade tacos are really good! I'm from San Diego and while no taco shop can compare to SD, for Utah Valley, these are spot on. Don't expect anything fancy. They serve authentic street tacos or authentic street tacos. You will not find American-ized lettuce, cheese etc on these tacos. Just a classic street taco. read more

About the best tacos you're going to find in the valley. I've never seen a place fulfill your order so quickly.

Tacos - this is what you come for. Nothing else. They have a legit El Pastor spit here for fresh good grilled meat. They have all the good salsas and toppings. Tortillas are fresh and authentic. The asada and el pastor are real good! The gringas had a little too much cheese for me. Atmosphere is just as authentically Mexican as the tacos. read more

Cook with his cell phone and coffee in work area. Young boy cutting the onions. Dirty tables. Salsa bar neglected. Food marginal. I am giving two stars because the flavor is still there. They could easily turn this place around to how it once was. This is the second time I've come in with the same conditions. Not even sure if the cook would've put gloves on after handling cash if I hadn't been staring to see if he was going to wash his hands. I love tacos. I used to love this place. I am completely disappointed in the way they've let this place go. Hopefully one day someone will care enough to return this place to the awesomeness it once was. read more
