Me and my guy shared the Chicken Mole dish. It was the right amount of food for two people if your not super hungry. The mole sauce was good and the chicken breast was tender. The rice was good and the beans were, well just beans. We also had several cocktails there, one being the regular Margarita. It was well made. Not to heavy on the sweetness. Just right. I also had a spicy Mezcal drink that was great as well. The customer service was outstanding. The entire staff and even the cooks were attentive and smiled a lot. The food was good. The service was great. If you're visiting this place and you've never been before they are somewhat hidden in the back of a building that appears to be a candle / body oil shop at the front. Once you enter just walk to the back. It was cute and quaint when we went. Not a lot of people on a Monday at 3. Luckily we made it for happy hour. Their house margaritas were good. Had a nice kick which I wasn't complaining about. Price wise, I am conflicted. You're paying papasitos prices for more authentic food but I wasn't expecting the prices to be as high as they were. Maybe its justified by the location or inflation. Not sure. Again, the food was good but even with a 5 star rating I am not sure I'd go back because of the prices. read more

The outdoor space, a little off the street, is really lovely, though since it's next to the parking lot, there was a car that revved up and made the space stink for a little bit. But I think that should be a pretty rare occurrence! The chile relleno (16$) was kinda wet haha, but tasted very good. The refried beans it came with were excellent! That would have garnered a higher rating except... Unfortunately, I found the garnachas (15$) extremely salty, nearly to the point of inedibility. So maybe if you know what to get, it would be nice, but overall a pass from me. read more

This place has a good rep in real life and on Yelp but I didn't get that experience. First there were flies everywhere, which is weird because it's indoors. The service was really slow even though it was just us and 2 other groups the whole time. What's cool is they have crickets to eat. We got that and the chips and guacamole. I couldn't eat the crickets and the guacamole was maybe the most bland I've had in my life. I got the Oxaca chicken breast and it honestly was amazing, possibly worth going just for that. Omg omg this was literally FIREE! I am not a fan of TexMex at all so I was scared of trying this place, but this was very authentic Mexican food. I tried the garnachas, and I'm Guatemalan and these were so good! (Not better than Guatemalans garnachas of course) but still to die for! The beans and rice were so good. The ambiance is super cool and the place is a little hidden, in a fun way. The drinks are fantastic! But.... The menu is really just off the mark & weird, small, and everything is way over priced. We had quesadillas... pretty simple? They took 45 minutes (1/3 full restaurant that was out numbered by staff) and were a salty, gut bomb. They charge for chips and salsa... it's Texas, cmon!! They have a ton of weight staff... all really young, under trained, and just sitting around... never saw a manager. You can't walk two feet in Bishop Arts without passing a great restaurant... get it together or you won't be there for long! read more

Had dinner with some friends here last night after seeing a friend post about this place and she highly recommended it.. She said the rice was legit so I had to go. This place is beyond legit ! I'm talking authentic Mexican food.. the kind your Mama or Abuela would make.. it's small and intimate.. the drinks were strong, the food was amazing and so was the service. I cannot wait to go back! I ordered the Paloma Tradicional, the guacamole (which was legit af too) and the Garnachas.. The Garnachas was amazing y'all.. it's a fried quesadilla stuffed with carne asada, crema and queso.. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE, seriously..check them out! My friends ordered the tacos and enchiladas. Everyone agreed the rice was so delicious, so authentic. Went on 4/7 unfortunately the hostess was having a bad day when we ask to if we can sit on the outside table she just give us attitude, then I said if not we can just leave she said o no no give me a minute to clean the table . The waitress was new and I understand she is in training but she was taking to long to check if we need anything, when our cocktails glass was empty. Later the hostess stop to check on us I guess the waitress was busy we ask for another round of drinks and order our dinner we got our second round of drinks I finished and ordered 3rd drinks with the waitress she brought the 3rd round and ask if we need anything else we said yes our dinner 15 minutes later she came and ask what did you order because the hostess never placed the order . I said just bring us the check and left she apologize. We end up going to Paradiso few blocks from this place and big difference on service and the Drinks $1.00 more but with the perfect quantity of liquor. The Guacamole and chapulines Drinks to sweet. Nestled inside the 410 Market is where you will find Coco's Fire & Ice. Coco's is a cute and cozy resturant where you and a few of your friends can hang out. The restaurant is quite small so get there early if you would like a table. Everyone on staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. Currently, they are testing different menu options. On my visit, I had the chicken flautas, shrimp cocktail, and cinco leches cake. The chicken flautas were tasty, but it was a little dry. You will definitely need the dipping sauce. I would say by far the shrimp cocktail was my favorite. It had just enough tanginess and sweetness to get the job done. I decided to test the waters with the Cinco Leches cake. I am not a fan of milk cake. I would normally steer away from it, but I was willing to give it a try. The cake was surprisingly good. The texture was perfect and the cake wasn't super wet (hopefully you understand what I mean, lol). As of 18 January, they are still in the process of obtaining their liquor license. Really frustrated that I made a 7:30 reservation for outside and upon coming to the restaurant was told an 18 top was outside and so we would have to sit inside or wait an hour more. When I asked why they did that because anyone in the food industry knows 18 people won't get their food in an hour, she said "well sir you made the reservation" as if it's my fault. We came to have an early lunch while we were in the area looking at wedding venues. It's a little tricky to get to but it's inside of a market and you just walk all the way to the back. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday because we were seated immediately. Ruby was our waitress. I typically go for enchiladas when I go to a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant but I thought I would try something different. Unfortunately, this is a restaurant where you don't get complimentary chips and salsa but we ordered some anyway. The chips were homemade and had a great crunch. The salsas were good. I ordered the garnachas, my mom ordered the molletes, my fiancé ordered some fajita tacos and a bowl of pozole. Our meals came pretty quick. My garnachas were unfortunately really greasy but they were crunchy and hot. They flavor wasn't anything special. The rice and beans were okay. I tried a piece of my moms molletes and they were good, a little greasy though. I tried my fiancé's pozole and it was good. I'm not in a hurry to try this place again because I wasn't very impressed with this first visit. I'm willing to give it another try in the future. read more

Coco's has superb service and puts out delicious and authentic Mexican food. Overall, this is a 5/5, would recommend!! This charming restaurant is tucked away in the back of a building behind the White Rock Soap Gallery shop so unless you are looking for it, it would be easy to miss. But that was to our benefit because we went for dinner on a Friday without a resy and we're able to get right in with no wait. There was a steady flow of other people but it was never packed. For dinner, we ordered chips & salsa as a starter then the Chicken Mole and Chicken Enchiladas Verde as our mains. The chips were super fresh and salsas (red and green) were both full of flavor, some of the best I have had at a restaurant!! I have only had mole one other time before this, and honestly wasn't impressed, but Coco's Mole was great. What a gem! Tucked away in Bishop Arts District. The food was delicious. We had 3 different plates at the table and all of us were pleased. Staff is friendly and service was excellent. Some member of the staff or waiter was often looking in on us to make sure we were comfortable. If you are wanting the usual Margarita you won't find it here. We love this spot. It's a nice, intimate spot on Bishop Arts that's great for a date night. The food is good. If you are anyone that just likes Mexican food. We used to think it was fantastic. The food is made by actual Abuelas in the back, so you no it's authentic. But, this last time we went, something changed.
